He was a professional over the phone: asked about my PC specs, intent of use (in terms of gaming, software design, etc.), age of PC, and any identifiable parts. He recommended for me to upgrade to Windows 11, back up data, and would offer me the Clean Up. We met, he took a look, and gave me his professional synopsis. After receiving my PC from being serviced, he was detailed in explaining what was done, why was it done, and how I can maintain it. My laptop was stuck on the boot screen this morning and I did as much trouble shooting as possible on my own before reaching out to Computer Guy. I gave him all the details of my troubleshooting and he walked me through a few of the possibilities, ultimately deciding that I had already performed most of the troubleshooting steps that he would have done himself. I was experiencing several problems with my laptop: it had slowed down quite a bit, websites I was using would stop responding and a couple of search engines had appeared in my task bar and kept trying to take over my searches. I contacted Guy and I'm so glad I did. He asked me a few questions over the phone and we set up a time for him to come pick up my computer. He was on time and very friendly and personable. He spent a few minutes with me looking at my issues, then took the computer with him and kept it while I was out of town for a few days. When I returned I received a message from him saying my computer was done and we set up an appointment for drop-off. Then, it would be agonizingly slow to do any function. Guy picked up the beast and put in a state of the art hard drive, replacing the old one. I had a huge problem where my old MacBook Air stopped booting up after I had attempted to update the OS. I had been using this computer to store many years of family photos along with important receipts and documents, and suddenly lost complete access to them. I thought about calling Apple to see if I could get some help to fix it, but I didn't feel I would get a good level of service given their service desk is always so busy. So I turned to Yelp and found The Computer Guy. Guy picked up my call immediately and listened to the issue I was running into. He was friendly, easy to talk to, professional, and highly knowledgeable. He then quoted me a competitive rate and picked up my computer that same day. Over the next few days, Guy sent me regular updates along with calls to share his progress and plan of action (along with a plan 'B' and plan 'C' in case something didn't work). In my case, plans 'A' through 'D' didn't work, but he did plan 'E' and he got my computer fixed. He installed the latest OS and got access back to my important photos and documents. List Files When I called the Computer Guy left a message and he got back to me with in 15 minutes.I called him about some files that did not transfer to my new computer. Feeling frustrated he took my old hard drive and found the files. He spent a few days working on it and was in contact with me to let me know about the progress. He did recover the files I needed off my 2013 iMac came to my house and helped me with installing on my new computer. His price was very reasonable. Especially since he came to the house I called around for prices with other companies. Just to come to the house was over 150 and not sure if they could fix it.
