An employee spilled an iced tea on the keyboard of their HP laptop, completely drenching it. Not good. The unit was completely dead. I figured it was destined to become a boat anchor for sure. My wife said "Take it to Ed. He fixed mine." Sure. Why not... Ed took it in, disassembled, and sent me photos the next day of the damaged/gummed up areas. I was not optimistic. Looked bad. He offered to attempt clean it first with solvent, for a very reasonable price, before resorting to replacement of the motherboard for big bucks. Much to my surprise, Ed emailed me the very next day with a fully restored, perfectly functioning laptop. Simply amazing! Ed's a magician. No, really! I wish I had taken a photo of my poor laptop. Held together with electricians tape, touch pad inert. In less than 24 hours, it was returned, in perfect condition, working like new. I used this place based on a recommendation by a friend. 10 star service!! This is in the time of COVID-19. Not very knowledgeable when it comes to desktop computers. Tried to tell me my storage needed a boost in space and that's why my computer wasn't running right. Also automatically update software and drivers when I didn't ask and charged me. Take everything to microcenter is what I recommend they charge 40 for a diagnostic while this place chargers 85. This guy is incredible. I tried to install my older hard-drive into a newer computer, and ran into problems right away. When I tried to put the HD back into the old computer, it wouldn't boot up. I thought I had lost everything for my business. Ed not only explained what had happened, then explained how they would fix it, spent the time to complete the task, charged a perfectly fair price, and then even calmly talked walked me through a separate set of steps regarding IP addresses with my router that weren't syncing up. A good friend and neighbor recommended Compuboost. Its been in business in Laguna Niguel for YEARS. In the past I had used Best Buy and quite frankly I found Best Buy to be an absolute nightmare. I gave Compuboost a try and I will never go anywhere else. The owner LISTENED to what my computer issues were, REPAIRED and IMPROVED my old-ish laptop (I can eek out a few more years of use on it now which is a huge benefit) and did it all in a timely fashion. I got my laptop back and it was all upgraded and working well (fast and no longer sounds like a blow-dryer!). He put all my old data back on including mail files! Everything was just as I left it and I didn't have to re-install a bunch of programs or files by myself. Ed is great. They just moved back to Laguna Niguel to the 3 Flag Center on Cabot. Brought my MacBook Pro in as it was shutting down randomly. Ed worked with Apple to diagnose the problem, which started as a problem with the graphics card, but ended up being an issue with the mother board. Through his persistence, Ed got Apple to replace the MB under warranty even though by laptop was more than 3 yrs old. Ed provides reasonable advice and his rates are fair. If you want someone that actually knows what they are doing, you want Ed working with your devices. read more

I was having issues with my MacBook Pro. I took it to Apple they said it would be $400 to send it away and fix it. I saw this place had good reviews for half the price. It took Ed 2 months to fix my laptop and he charged me $475. I told him 2 months was too long -I had to keep calling and ask for updates- but he disagreed. He did waive the tax fee of $27, but that isn't enough. I wanted to support a local business, but now I'm just bummed I didn't have Apple fix it. I wouldn't recommend this place. read more

Used them many times in the past. Seem to be no longer interested in the business. While repairing my laptop they cracked my case and glued the 1 inch crack quite sloppily at that I must say. The did not tell me that it happened. Very unperfessional. My laptop WAS in perfect shape with not 1 scratch on it. Very deceitful and sneaky. Last time I will do business there. read more
