As I went for one of these walks a long time ago, I noticed the H8S Cafe and I have wanted to go ever since. We went on a "local adventure" yesterday and one of our stops was finally this cafe! And now, I wish that I lived right next door... except I would just end up living in this cafe probably. The food is so delicious. I got a ham and cheese croissant with spinach and red pepper sauce and I am drooling just thinking about it. I could eat that every day. The hot chocolate was also REAL hot chocolate and it was exactly what I wanted. When with the chocolate chip cookie we got, I was extremely happy. The service was fast and the man working was really kind. He was open to chatting for a bit and you can just tell he's great with his customers. A fellow diner was on their computer doing a video call using headphones, so it's wonderful people can do that here too if they need to. (Without being disruptive). There are spots outside you can sit at too but we had come in for a small break from our adventure so we were happy and comfortable sitting where it was cooler. The artwork on the walls is beautiful (and some are for sale)- I really enjoyed looking at it as we dined. We also picked up a jar of honey with nuts as a gift for a family member so it's nice to know they have items like that for sale too! Overall, I love the vibe here and I'm excited to make it a more regular stop on my walks.

My latte was good though, but if I come here, I rather sit on the terrace instead of hearing the bang all the time.

Every location I went to was full but the line goes by quickly. This specific location is in old Montreal so if you're doing sightseeing it's a great spot to chill. The cafe crema is insane. The texture and flavor of this is something I've never had before. The coffee flavor is strong but not offensively strong. Even if you're not a fan of coffee I'd still suggest you try it. The affogato was lovely with the espresso and gelato mixing it creates that lovely icy texture on the outside. It is more pricey so I'd say the safe crema is the way to go.

Panic mode. Thankfully, this place saved the day with its warm and inviting ambiance. We grabbed coffees and croissants, and the owner was quick and efficient, getting us sorted in no time. Even at that ungodly hour, there were already two locals and a dog chatting with the patron--always a good sign of a neighborhood favorite. Can't complain at all. I'm in Vieux Montreal for a few more days and will definitely be back.

They have a selection of quiches, salads and sandwiches. There are no wrong choices every thing is fresh and flavourful. They have a chocolat and desert section that looks delicious. The staff is very welcoming. They will take care of your order from start to finish no chain work here. There is plenty of place to eat on site and you can get lost in conversation with your best friend without worrying about being ask to leave. Well that is if you don't stay up to closing time. Here you'll find some delicate little pastries, beautiful and yummy cakes, bread, and some little lunch appropriate foods (e.g. sandwiches, quiches, various salads etc), and hot beverages. I didn't try their lunch items but their pastries and cakes are wonderful! Not too sweet, very beautifully decorated, and many options! They also have Christmas logs around the holiday season too! Their lattes are pretty good as well! There's also a small area where you can eat or drink your coffee there. They usually close around 5pm however so keep that in mind. The prices are also very reasonable as well!
