As a former pro athlete, and still going in intense outdoor sports, I was looking for someone/ a team who could hear my specific needs and desired for recovery and re-training. Been working with Dr. Chris and his team for 3 weeks after not recovering well from emergency surgery to remove staph infection in my knee. So far, every session moves me leaps and bounds ahead, when I when I was having deep concerns for real recovery. Even though the healing road is /will be intense for this incident-- I am SO FREAKING Grateful to have found Dr. Chris and his team! read more

The complete performance team has become like a family over the past few years. I have seen Dr Chris for multiple pain and mobility issues and I always feel like a new person after each session. I previously thought the only way to live pain free was through medication until I stepped into their office. Dr Chris and his team are currently addressing an issue related to my chronic headaches that no other doctor has been able to do. Let us not forget to mention Nina because she always brings a smile to my face and lights up the room as she keeps the office flowing. They offer the entire holistic approach by including sport/regular massage, diet and lifestyle training, regenerative medicine, among others. I just had a massage today and feel completely relaxed and without tension. Thank you everyone for changing my life! read more

So, bottom line, the doctor (and those who work under him) are friggin sorcerers. They are absolutely insanely good at what they do. Their knowledge of how the musculoskeletal system works together is second to none. I went in there originally for shoulder pain, and now lower back pain. Every time I leave there, my situation has progressed, in a good way, and I feel super loose and pain free. I'll recommend this place to anyone who'll listen. I'm completely convinced that there isn't anything they can't solve, pain related. They're wizards, all of them. On top of all of this, everyone there is SUPER nice. Very willing to listen to whatever your ailment may be, and Nina, at the front desk is great as well. She makes getting set up very easy, and is always a delight as the first person you deal with once you walk in the door. Again, 20/10 fully recommend this place. Thanks, Dr. Chris! read more

Wow is all I can say! My daughter came in unable to walk with a badly sprained ankle and left an hour later over 50% better. By day 3, she was 80%. This was a typical multi week recovery. The pain and healing was enormously truncated. Dr. Chris is truly amazing! read more

I saw Dr. Chris Alvarez for my lower back issues due to a car accident many years ago. Dr. Chris and his staff are fantastic! Physical therapy is never fun, but Dr. Chris made it fun, educational, and easy to understand. I found myself looking forward to my Tuesday/Thursday therapy sessions because of his outstanding knowledge and interpersonal skills. Dr. Chris possesses an incredible amount of knowledge which impressive in itself, but more than that, the 1:1 personal attention he showed me made me feel important and heard. Not only that, my back is feeling 100% better! I highly recommend Dr. Chris if you need a chiropractor that knows what he's doing and can make the experience fun and educational. In these COVID days, we are all going through so many challenges. It's refreshing to see a doctor take so much pride in his work, and the results show! read more

There are certain people in this world to just seem to be healers. I know that Dr. Chris has studied the human body and worked on it for decades, but the man has something beyond study. This guy has fixed me up more times than I can count. Even now as I live on the Westside of LA, I drive back up to see him whenever I'm in real need. He's the best. read more

Please read!! GREATEST BODY MAGICIAN EVER! As I've now dubbed Dr. Chris, who has a profound knowledge of the human body, various diseases and Injuries from head to toe. I'm not someone to endorse or take this lightly, as I am disabled with a spinal injury and have seen 22 doctors and 12 physical therapists in the last 8 years... I've been dealing with an unidentifiable spine disease for far too long and was ready to "GIVE UP LIVING ENTIRELY"... but, two days later I was asked by a to come with a friend. I did so, still skeptically until I watched Dr. Chris do their session. After seeing how detailed and instrumentally tactical Dr. Chris and team were, I was very impressed and figured I had nothing to lose so why not? So I decided to try a few sessions and if nothing helped like most, I'd give up for good. I have never told anyone this story, but they saved my life. I can actually breath again when I could barely speak without pain, I'm walking almost entirely without a cane most days. We're chipping away at something over 2 dozen doctors/ rheumatologists/ etc, could not and can still not figure out... His assistants; (Especially Nina) are amazing, friendly, welcoming and actually care about helping people!! Which is rare to find... Our first session i was expecting a chiropractic crack and stretch/ rub, but no, it was a finely tuned dissection of my disease, my spine and what's going on; i.e, how it affects me, my life, body, etc.. and today marks almost 9 months of coming here and them being paitent and working with me to rebuild an actual life. I truly cannot express how phenomenal they are at Complete Performance Center. I drive 45 mins out of the way just to come here because I leave feeling FANTASTIC and have seen and felt the results that can be. ANYONE SUFFERING in PAIN of any kind should come for at least 1-2 sessions. Now it's me who recommends them to doctors i know!! Haha my girlfriend, her co-workers, sister and boss have all been coming for a few months and have the same notions about their professional skill-set and treatments. They are more than Physical therapy / Chiropractic center, they are family, and ones who actually give a shit. They deserve to be praised at the highest level and that's why I absolutely recommended giving them a try. You may not know what's causing your body's pain, but Dr. Chris sure can help find out and won't stop till he can relieve some of not all of it!! 10/10 they are hands down one of the best in Southern California and I am very blessed and thankful for them. Thank you all everyday and for everything !! read more

I had literally given up on the possibility of me having a normal functioning body after years of wasted time and money with other Doctor's who didn't know biomechanics well enough to diagnose my problems. Dr. Chris is unbelievable! Our entire family sees him and I have referred a number of people to him and they all rave about what he has done for them. It's hard to describe what he does - so we just call him a miracle worker! I have seen him for a groin issue, a knee issue and a hip issue. He works with our daughter who is college athlete and our son who is a high school athlete. He not only gets to the root of the problem, figures out the cycle of inflammation and compensation - he works with you to resolve it quickly! He is so patient, kind, intuitive and...did I mention miracle worker! read more

I've been to over 50 chiropractic sessions in the past among various facilities and I can confidently say that Dr. Chris and Dr. Troy are not your typical chiropractor. Prior chiropractic sessions that I've had would mainly consist of ice/heat, STIM, and an adjustment. Yes, those sessions were effective, but the relief did not last long before I was back. I appreciate that Dr. Chris and Dr. Troy take the time to understand and improve each patient's biomechanics before going in with an adjustment. They also provide and demonstrate exercises and stretches to do at home. Past chiropractors would just give me a generic printout of stretches and exercises. With their unique approach, I've noticed greater and more retainable improvement! I've noticed improvement in my posture and overall feel more balanced. My parents now visit Dr. Chris for weekly treatments and they've noticed better mobility in less than a month. We all look forward to our visits, as we continue to see ourselves improving! read more

I didn't have good experience with this business. I made an appointment to see them for the first time. I got a text reminding me of the appointment. Next, I got an email to complete 2 forms but unable to complete the form due to a software defect (When trying to add your name, the keyboard only offers numbers and thus can't make progress). Next day more reminder text about the appointment. On their site it says don't come in but text us first so we can clean a room and get ready. I arrived 20 minutes before my appointment. Texted that i'm here. No response for 10 minutes. Then I called to let them know I'm here. Their unbelievable response " We don't have a room, can we call you later when one becomes available?", Argggg, With Gas prices in CA around $5 a gallon, why didn't you call me telling me that you don't have a room. Not only does he help her through the injury, but he provides the strengthening tools necessary to prevent subsequent problems. Dr. Chris and Nina are AMAZING. They are unbelievably helpful. I have recommended Dr. Chris to everyone. I had an injury from falling off a horse and was able to bring back stability to my entire upper back that had been bothering me for years. I did not even know my older injuries were fixable without surgery. Dr. Chris was able to give me exercises and relieve me of pain I had been dealing with for over 10 years in a matter of weeks! Dr. Chris is amazing!! I was a professional dancer whose career ended due to what the doctors thought was a back injury in 2006. I spent over a year at physical therapy and at numerous doctor appointments for them to never really give me a solid diagnosis. No matter what these other professionals did, my pain would always come back. Fast forward 11 years. I now live in California and I'm a ballet and modern dance teacher. The same pain I had that ended my career starts to flair back up with a vengeance. I call Complete Performance and get an appointment the next day. I tell Dr. Chris my history and he examines me. I wasn't really expecting him to tell me anything different than the other doctors had. To study my situation further, he asked me to come in the next day. After reviewing how my body responded to his test, he tells me that I do not have a back injury but a groin muscle injury! I was shocked for a second but remembered that I had torn my inner thigh muscle back in 2000. To test it out, he released some of the tightness in that muscle and ALL OF MY PAIN WENT AWAY!! I couldn't believe it. Of all of the doctors I have seen throughout the years, not one looked past the surface pain to actually find the root cause of it all. I wish I knew Dr. Chris back in 2000 or even in 2006. I believe he could have spared me a lot of pain and heartache. Dr. Chris is super intelligent and very nice. He makes you feel like your apart of his Complete Performance family. I highly recommend him for every dancer, sports player, mom, dad, or child. read more

The entire CPC family is amaaaaazing!! Would give them all beyond 5 stars! First off, Dr. Chris is truly a miracle worker! I came in with lower back issues and tight hip flexors. After my very first visit, I could already feel a difference. He is definitely very knowledgeable and I appreciate the time he took to thoroughly explain things to me (and I ask a lot of questions). Second, Cindy, the Nutritionist, is wonderful! She is one of the sweetest people I've ever met. I had no idea what NAET was until I met her and since then I have developed a great interest in the NAET practice. Lastly, Nina at the front desk is the BEST! She is always so kind and helpful. Whenever I have an appointment she always knows exactly what I need whether it's ice or heat and she always makes sure I'm comfortable. When I call to make to make an appointment she is very accommodating with my time requests. I just love seeing her every time I go to CPC! I would highly recommend CPC to anyone!! If I could give 10 stars after each visit, I totally would! Dr. Chris has worked his magic on my chronic plantar fasciitis. I've been in extreme foot pain since January and unable to run. Thinking I should go to a podiatrist, I was stuck in a boot for nearly 3 months with no improvement. Finally trusting my gut, I went to Dr. Chris for my foot. Within the first week, my pain level dropped from a 10 to a 5. With continued visits over the next 2 weeks, my pain was gone most of time. I'm now able to run again (low mileage but I'm back on the trails) and he's fine tuning the last little issues. I feel like a completely different person now that I'm no longer in pain!!! I really can't say enough to express my gratitude to Dr. Chris and his staff for giving me back my life! I've never suffered with chronic pain until this issue and I'm here to tell you that you don't have to be in pain!!! read more

My improvement has been nothing short of remarkable. I drive over 30 minutes to get to him but he is worth every gallon of gas. read more

I'd rate Doc Chris 10 STARS! I've known Doctor Chris for years and He's a miracle worker. He's the Doc with Magic Hands. When I was a gymnast at around age 11 Doc Chris came to our Gym and adjusted all my teammates including me. I wasn't your normal flexible gymnast... so Doctor Chris helped me in many ways... 1st to loosen up my muscles... I was always a overly tight gymnast... my hip flexors and forearms were ridiculously tight so he helped me with that. 2nd I'd sprain my ankles on a constant and Doc helped with my ankles... he got rid of the inflammation, taped them and gave me excercises to strengthen it. 3rd I had a situation with my elbow that never came up till later in my gymnastics career... I found out that my elbow wouldn't straighten all the way and I couldn't touch my shoulder like my other arm... I was told by the Docs that it was an old fracture that didn't heal correctly... I went to Dr. CHRIS to see if he could do something about it so I wouldn't have to go in for surgery and sure enough he worked on me... so he tried different stretches and in time I was Brand New... no need for surgery and I was a happy gymnast. Without Dr. Chris' help I would have done everything I could do after being a National Champion Gymnast and a Break Dancer... a National Champion COLLEGIATE Tumbler for Ventura College Cheer. Thanks Doc! You are Amazing! And after so many years your more knowledgeable and more experienced and now you do so many more amazing thing for your patients. Guys I'M telling you Dr. CHRIS is not your normal chiropractor... he takes care of alignment, adjudtments and so much MORE. Headaches, sinus, TMJ, congested.... he'll help you breathe, and other things you wouldn't even imagine. CPC is a one stop shop the STAFF IS AMAZING! Cindy the Nutritionist is amazing she knows her stuff. RYAN THE PERSONAL TRAINER (Mr. Clean) that's what I call him.. hehe his work outs are fun and challenging at the same time if you wanna break a sweat come train with him. I feel fortunate to have found this place, albeit I wish I found it years ago! I came in at the beginning of the year barely able to put my shoes on due to back pain, and in a matter of weeks Dr.s Chris and Troy had me back to skiing, surfing, and mountain biking. A lot of their recommendations and tips are up to the patient to put to work - stretches, exercises, etc., but following their direction and getting their hands-on treatment paid off for me. I've since taken my 15 year-old in for shin splints, and he is making good progress as well. I know where to go now when I have physical limitations or pain. Highly recommend this place/personnel. read more

I can't believe anybody hasn't reviewed Chris. I'd been to a few GP type docs, two chiropractors and an orthopedic surgeon for the referred pain in my back from the bone-on-bone in my cervical vertebrae. Yeah, disk is history. The first Chiro was a wacky lady who didn't do anything. The second was a nice guy in TO who helped me some. The Ortho did a nice job with the pills and PT, which taught me neck retractions so that I could keep from having a big episode in the future. But Chris. Chris... this guy so knows what he's doing. He uses techniques to "work" the area so that you actually IMPROVE! Woo-hoo! Also, I don't know about you, but I've noticed that, with treatments from the other guys, I'd leave the office feeling a little worse, then feel better the next day... maybe. But with Chris, I feel better right away. And I stay better. He has a gym and a massage therapist. He'll put you in that gym and make you stretch or strengthen with one of the trainers. His massage therapist will beat you up... ahem... massage you to his specifications. Aaah, she's tiny but it hurts so good. Chris really wants you to improve, not become addicted to "adjustments". His specialty is more what I would call "sport's performance medicine", but don't let that scare you away. Yeah, there are radical athletes wandering in and out of his office and working out in his gym, but if you're just a regular person in pain, just go there. You won't be sorry. I met Chris on the volleyball court years ago and finally went to him for my neck / back, about a year ago. I used to not have any feeling in the skin below my shoulder blade. I thought that was just how it would be. Now I can feel it after YEARS of complete numbness. But he's also fixed my elbow, and, coming to think of it, the tinnitus (ear ringing) is now gone. I'll have to tell him that LOL. He's fixed my friend's lower back, my step daughter's mid back, my son's knee, and a myriad of other painful situations. He has packages to make his services affordable. If you don't have insurance or if your insurance is funky, then talk to Marty and ask about the pay-ahead deals. Speaking of Marty, if you're in a bad way, she'll do everything she can to fit you in, even if you don't have an advance appointment. Don't waste your time and money on anybody else, just to be in pain. Go see Chris. read more

I came to Dr Chris Alvarez on Jan 15th 2016 - I was "broken" and walking sideways. I had thrown out my lower back by just turning the wrong way. This of course was not the first time that this had happened and I have become very familiar with chiropractic and osteopathic help over the years - going back to my first session at 14 years old in England. Please note that I have never felt the need to write a review - but this time it's different. So - within ONE WEEK (3 appts.) Dr Chris had me walking upright and almost pain free - a personal record for me - as it usually takes at least three weeks to get anywhere near normal. Dr Chris is a miracle worker and is a no nonsense, no drama and no holding you hostage to a million sessions kinda guy - he just wants to fix you. He showed me how to stretch and of course insisted on frequent ice seasons - each time I went he listened to my progress and gave me further exercises to do to aid my recovery. I should mention that nearing the end of my first week with Dr Chris he mentioned a meal supplement shake - he said it would help to heal my insides (I must admit that my diet at that point had taken a dump). Curious of course I tried it and lost 7lbs in little over a week (substituting both breakfast and lunch with a shake) The shake's taste like ice-cream with no after taste. I feel healthier and continue to lose weight and I LOVE IT! So - diet in order and lower back fixed we get down to the nitty gritty. Why does my neck feel like it's permanently got a crick in it and I have little to no mobility turning to my right?? (a nightmare when pulling off a freeway let me tell you). THE ANSWER - I have TMJ (look it up) - something which I had never heard of but apparently it derives from stress (clenching my jaw bone) and bad posture. Well, it just so happens that Dr Chris is a wizard with TMJ - something that my work buddy has lived with all her life because she was told there was no cure. THERE IS A CURE and it's called DR CHRIS ALVAREZ!!!! I am confident that he will fully fix this TMJ mallarchy and I will resume full mobility in my neck very soon. I have had two sessions on my TMJ thus far and the improvement is already VAST. The thing about this place is that it provides everything for your complete recovery - chiro and then physio - there's a gym with a ton of equipment in it and the way Dr Chris bobs between his patients is great - this guy is a miracle worker and his staff are super friendly and remember my name - gotta love that in this fast pace society called LA. The End. read more

Dr Alvarez is my new hero. I am an LA based Acrobat. I have been training acrobatics for a few years now with a background in competitive gymnastics. I have been having an issue for the last 8 months with my thumb. I had basically given up all hope until i saw Dr Alvarez. My thumb(wrist) had left me unable to even do a single push-up and i was looking for a new Dr to help be and hopefully heal me. I was given Dr Alvarez's information and called right away. He came in EARLY just to see me- which in my experience is unheard of. He went out of his way just to help me, which in my eyes is enough for 5 stars. I saw him bright and early the morning (i was set to leave for an Acro event). He saw me and did typical therapy. Icing and some muscle stem. He asked a ton of questions and told me that he was going to tape my wrist so i could make it through my weekend. I was skeptical.... i was a gymnast and i have taped nearly every part of my body, how was this supposed to last through a 3-day Acrobatics event? Well... it did. He used 3 different kinds of tape to create folds which helped to support my thumb and wrist. I have never been so impressed. I was even able to Handstand :) FINALLY! After my return i saw Dr Chris two-three time a week. We worked on my wrist regularly for about 5 weeks. He fixed the issue and gave me special things to do to strengthen my wrists so that something like this wouldn't happen again! I can honestly say that i have never been more impressed with a Dr. Dr Chris- You're a wrist saver :) read more

After 4 months being almost bedridden with severe knee pain and dealing with Orthopaedists who did not help one bit, a friend referred me to the genius that is Dr. Chris. In a few visits, he performed his magic and gave me specific exercises to do at home. WHAT A HUGE DIFFERENCE!! I now walk with no limp most of the time and look forward to total healing by working with Dr. Chris. He is a Sports Medicine Chiropractor and appears, to me, to be an expert in his field. His knowledge is immense and he sincerely cares about his patients. I was taught to fear Chiropractors (yes, really) but Dr. Chris has alleviated that fear. I could go on and on about Dr. Chris and his wonderful staff, but I will spare readers and just say, "Go see Dr. Chris Alvarez for injuries and wellness. You will not be sorry." Oh! He also helps with weight loss too. I'm sure my excess weight makes healing a bigger challenge, but, I lost 6 pounds the first week I utilized his supplement! Thank you, Dr. Chris. It is Thanksgiving Day 2016 today and I am grateful to Chris Alvarez for healing my foot! Last year after Christmas I was walking my dog and felt a pinch in the ball of my foot. The pain grew worse to the point I couldn't walk bare foot and in regular shoes without extreme pain. Little did I know on that walk, that the following 9 months would be filled with visits to numerous different health care providers looking for an answer. What was worse, other parts of my body started having problems....my knee started clicking, my hips hurt and my back would pop sharply at random times, often when just standing still. No one could determine the cause of the pain or devise a treatment plan. I visited my primary care physician, a chiropractor, an acupuncturist, two podiatrists, a rheumatologist, a foot and ankle specialist and a foot surgeon before I found Chris. I had numerous X-rays, an MRI, splints, a cortisone injection, taped and padded my foot, wore a boot for 12 weeks and even had to replace all of my shoes with expensive specialty support models for wide feet in to get out of the boot. After all of that, not only did my pain continue, but the best I guess from just one the HCPs was that I may have a planter plate and needed surgery. In frustration I returned to my Primary Care Physician who referred me to Chris and that is when everything changed. He didn't need an X-ray, or an MRI....he had me walk and looked at my biomechanics. Most importantly, he had a plan that he implemented on that very first visit and which resulted in immediate improvement. The treatments that followed were custom and varied according to my progress. Sometimes this included one or more of the following: icing, taping, stretches, muscle stimulation, Grastin, and/or adjustments to my foot or to my back. The treatments were 2X/week, along with a very few easy things to do at home (which sometimes I forgot to do). The knee popping resolved, the back and hip pain resolved and this month I have actually started running again! Chris figured out that it was my heel that locked from an overtight calf that then forced the weight of my body into the wrong part of my foot, which caused my arch to collapse and my bones to jam and inflame. The pain caused my gate to shift which is why my knee, hips and back were affected. If my foot flares up, I now know what to do because Chris taught me what to do to manage my condition. :-) Since the amazing results I've had, I sent my husband to Chris for treatment. He was in a car accident and could not turn his head for months. Chris has made similar immediate improvements for him. I have sent my son to Chris, who in a couple of adjustments corrected his posture. I would send ANYONE to Chris and if you are the fence, GO NOW! His functional-medicine-bionic-super-healer-vision will reveal the source of the pain you are in and you WILL get resolution! So today, as I reflect on this year.....Chris I am thankful for you and the friendly cheerful staff at your practice. GOD Bless you all! read more

Dr. Chris is remarkable. First met him when I hurt my knee. Doctors told me that it was my age and arthritis but I didn't believe it. I have worked out for years and never had an issue. The doctors took x-rays and sent me for physical therapy but none of that worked. After seeing Dr. Chris for a short period the pain was gone and back to normal for years now. My son was in club soccer and he and many of his team mates also saw Dr. Chris and worked out with Ryan. He always seems to help you recover and teaches you how to perform exercises to help your recovery. Recently my daughter hurt herself dancing and once again Dr. Chris to the rescue. He worked with her injury and got her back to dancing. Don't know what we would do without Dr. Chris. He is our go to Doctor and would highly recommend him to anyone.
