First, they did arrive early which was fine, however only 2 people showed up when we were told 3 would be there. Ryan (owner) even said during the day that they planned on 3 but he didn't think it was necessary and only brought 2--they ended up being at our house for 7ish hours which threw off our whole day when we were planning for 3 people and for the day to be a lot shorter. We toured the house, they laid down the boxes on our floors, etc. Everything was good. We very clearly stated what was priority for them to load on the truck since we knew not everything was going to fit on the U-Haul we had rented--we just wanted them to get all the heavy things we would not easily be able to lift ourselves later on without their help. We stated these items numerous times then and later on throughout the day when we saw these items were still untouched. They confirmed they would get those items on the truck at some point. Later they stated that they "had" to disassemble my desk, which I stated to them I didn't care about. It was old and honestly I didn't care if it fell apart because I wanted to trash it anyway. They disassembled it, and when I asked, they said there would be no charge. Great, I thought! I had to leave about half-way through the day to leave for the long drive to our new home so that my child could nap in the car. Before I left, I clearly asked Ryan if there would be any additional fees, and he clearly stated no, they would just charge what was quoted. Great, I thought again! Because they had, at that point, already disassembled the desk, used a lot of supplies, and even assisted us with the car trailer. All great stuff. They kept cruising along as I left. When I caught up with my husband later, I found out the unfortunate news that when he did see the truck full, they had still not touched any of the heavy stuff. They left behind nearly every single heavy item we had asked them to pack up. My husband didn't notice or think to keep an eye on them because he was busy with other things around the house and we had already asked them numerous times to take care of them. It was quite frustrating because that meant we had to figure it out ourselves later on. Then came the invoice a few days later. We noticed that we were indeed charged an extra $150 fee for "added items" of which included extra supplies, desk disassembly, and assistance with the car trailer--all of which Ryan assured me was not going to be charged. This was incredibly disappointing. I emailed them to ask why, especially because Ryan very clearly told me ahead of time that they would not charge me this AFTER they had already done these things, and I was given quite a poor response. Ryan flat out asked me for a 5-star review early that morning, and, I'm sorry Ryan, if you had provided a better email response at least attempting to resolve the $150 fee, perhaps you would have gotten something better. If you have gotten this far, then I highly suggest you look elsewhere for your moving needs, otherwise you will be stuck with a company that will find ways to charge you extra fees, only cares about their reviews, and at the end of the day doesn't really care about what you actually need out of your move. Please find someone else that can better suit your needs and truly cares about you.

Pretty Neat Organizers just helped my sister J downsize and move from a large 2-bedroom apartment…read morein northern Wisconsin to a small 1-bedroom apartment in southern Wisconsin. They were amazing!! Six women spent two days with J and me, going through everything in the apartment to help J decide what to take and what to donate to charty. They took the donations to the specific places J wanted to get them, then they packed everything else for the move. Just to add to the complexity fo the process, J had a multi-hour medical test on the 2nd day and needed to rest afterwards. Four women and two of their college-aged sons spent the third day loading the moving truck, then driving the truck and J's car to the southern Wisconsin while J and I drove down in my car. Along the way, they stopped at J's daughter's house to leave things J was giving to her and to pick up a bed for the new apartment. That third day was complex because there were so many categories of items to be transported: items for my car, items for J's car that would stay in J's car, items for J's car that would come into the hotel room where we were spending the night, items for J's daughter, and items for J's new apartment. The same six people then worked on the fourth day to set up the apartment. So how did they do on that ambitious, complex process? They were stellar! They were compassionate in helping J decide what to take and what to donate. They made sure J got to rest when she needed to. As we were leaving to drive south, one of them brought over an afghan and asked if J wanted to take it in the car. (By then they had figured out that J got cold more easily than I do!) They are a fun group and made sure we were having fun through the process. They also worked very hard for four days! They packed everything very carefully, taking the most fragile things in their own cars when we drove south. Only one thing got broken ... and they had already replaced it before we even knew about the problem. Where their talents really shone were in setting up the new apartment. By the time we walked in mid-afternoon on that 4th day, everything was in place. Dishes and groceries were in the kitchen cupboard. Pills were in the medicine cabinet. Soap and shampoo and towels were in the shower. Summer clothes were in the bedroom closet and winter clothes in the utility closet. Pictures were on the walls. Family photos were arranged in the bay window and photos were on the fridge. They had pillows and throws attractively arranged. Everyone who dropped by to meet Jane was amazed at how great the place looked. Our favorite part is that they figured out how to arrange the furniture so J got to have both her desk and our grandfather's beloved barriser bookcase in the apartment; we didn't think there would be room for either, but PNO fit them in with room for J to safely walk around the room with her rollator. For this amazing service, we thought the price was very reasonable. The senior residence J has moved to was so impressed that they asked Jennifer for her card so they can recommend PNO to others moving in. J and I both very highly recommend Pretty Neat Organizers!
