A week before the Bank Holiday weekend, I have decided to book myself in for a peel in preparation for a short city break with my sister and best friend. I have called up Aesthetics Lab and booked myself in for a consultation, followed by the peel. At arrival I was greeted by a very friendly receptionist who gave me an online questionnaire to fill in. It took me 10 to 12 minutes to finish. I did arrive early for my appointment, so I had plenty of time to kill. Joanna, very lovely and extremely helpful, discussed with me my skin history, problems and needs. Once we agreed on the treatment for my skin (we both agreed that my skin is dull & congested), I have been taken to the treatment room, where I met a very lovely aesthetician. I lied down on the bed, got tucked in & was ready for my peel. First my skin was preped by cleaning my skin & cleansed. A simple procedure, however it feels really nice when done by somebody else. Its time for the peel! A specifically selected (for my skin type) liquid peel was smoothly brushed on my skin. I had to stay with the peel on my skin for couple of minutes. It felt a bit itchy and stingy as it was working its way into my skin. The peel was removed & my skin was prepared for the 2nd part of my treatment: LED lights. This was my favourite part as it felt like you were bathing under the sun. After the treatment my skin felt a bit tight, however this went away after couple of hours. I have to say that that my skin feels like a baby's skin and very happy with the end result. The whole treatment lasted around an hour & even my black heads from my nose were removed. I had seen some of the top dermatologists in London, taken five different antibiotics, many topical lotions and creams and then a low dose one year course of roaccutane. This helped briefly but once off the medicine it all came back and worse. I had to hang up and ring another day to speak to someone else. Most of these girls are very young and really don't know what they're doing along with hardly speaking any English. After booking my appointment I kept getting text messages from them asking to change my appointment but they didn't seem to know they were texting me, but still kept on changing my appointments around. I eventually had my first treatment where I was made to feel really uncomfortable with another lady sitting in on the appointment. For some reason they completely covered up my eyes so I couldn't see anything throughout the whole service, lying there in silence. My next appointment was booked in for 6 weeks later but their Diode machine had broken and no one even let me know. They were meant to call me on numerous occasions to let me know when it was fixed but each time I had to call them to find out what was going on. So I waited about 3 months for it to be fixed, by which time I turned up for my appointment and the lady told me the machine was broken again, and again no one even let me know. The manager was actually there that day and I said that I wanted my money back if they can't fix the machine b/cos clearly they can't provide me with the service that I have paid for. He initially agreed to this and he was going to call me when the engineer's had been in to let me know. I never received a call. I rang them to see what was going on with the machine and a girl on the phone confirmed that they no longer provide the Diode Laser treatment, so she put me on the phone with the manager which at this point outright refused to give me a refund. He kept trying to offer me other products and I argued with him over the phone for several minutes where I threatened to get legal involved and I even told him that I would leave a bad review but he didn't seem to care as he kept saying "We offer excellent service" and he just wasn't backing down. So I got in contact with groupon who eventually refunded me the full amount in groupon credit. Please avoid this place if you don't want an awful experience and be ripped off at the same time. I am also very dubious about all these 5* reviews... If you've been in there you'll know what I mean.
