Skin is to be avoided at all costs. I have just read Natasha D's review, and had to read it again as this is almost exactly what happened to me.
Instead of using Groupon, I went into the clinic to enquire about Diode laser treatment. I was sold a group of 6 sessions paid for in advance, and filled out a medical form. On this form I explained that I wanted to try Diode laser rather than IPL as I have been badly burned using IPL a few years ago and I am wary of it.
My first session was with a young girl who did not speak much English; nothing was explained, and there was no conversation. It wasn't a very nice experience. When it was over I went to book another session with the receptionist but was left standing there being ignored for 10 minutes while she and a colleague fiddled with the computer. Someone else eventually came out and told them 'there is a customer there waiting'.
For my next session I was left in reception for about 15 minutes while people came in and out of reception being very confused about appointments. I was asked a few times what I was there for. It was a different girl this time, and she had another person with her who she seemed to be training. I was under the impression you needed legitimate training to use lasers, so this was a bit alarming.
The day before my 3rd session I received a text message saying the Diode was broken. It took weeks and weeks to get another appointment, and I had to chase them to get this appointment. When I finally got an appointment, I was left waiting again for a long time in reception, then a different girl again took me through. She started to use the IPL laser on me which I had specifically requested NOT be used as I had been burned previously. I had to stop her. She giggled and said 'oh you should have said you were here for Diode' (!!!). I left feeling a bit shocked at this unprofessional and apparent unregulated level of service.
Same story again before my 4th treatment. I was actually left for 2 months this time. I sent 2 emails of complaint, both of which were ignored.
In November I went into the clinic to complain in person. The receptionist was not at all apologetic, she just wanted to book me another appointment. As I was speaking to her another lady came in, and she started to complain about exactly the same thing, I asked for my money back, and the receptionist very reluctantly got the manager out of the back room. He took me through and refused to accept any of this had happened to me, he just kept saying he was very hardworking and checks his emails. He conceded that the Diode had been a problem, but it was now fixed. He persuaded me to book another appointment, and threw in a free facial by way of apology, which I accepted, hoping the problems would now be behind me.
At that appointment, the facial I was promised turned out to be a Derma Abrasive treatment, which I could not have as I have very sensitive skin. Instead I had something else which was not explained to me as the girl doing it didn't speak English. Then for the Diode treatment another therapist (another new one) brought in 2 other girls to the room to train. It was very uncomfortable and I felt like part of a sideshow.
I am due my 5th treatment tomorrow, and have just received a text message this evening saying they will not honour any deals made before August this year. I have pointed out that my treatment would be well over by now had their machine not broken twice, but they then said they are not honouring any Groupon deals, even though it was NOT as Groupon deal!
I am gobsmacked at the terrible practices and customer service that Skin offer. They will not give me my money back and I will not step foot in there again. I run my own business and if I treated my customers like this I would have gone bankrupt a long time ago. read more
