I had seen two other chiropractors prior to him and he was the only one that would not adjust me based on my x-rays, MRIs, and reports, even though the other chiropractors did. He showed me my x-rays and explained that my spine is crumbling. He told me, under no uncertain circumstances NEVER let any chiropractor adjust me. Also having 4 ruptured cervical discs, he helped educate me and direct me to the best surgical procedure I should have and to look for a Neurosurgeon that could provide the least minimally invasive surgery. In the last few months with Dr. Joe, my mobility has improved more than it ever did in four years with my previous chiropractor. Not only has he adjusted my alignment, but he also has me doing strengthening exercises in physical therapy to prevent a return to my previous pain levels. I haven't felt this good in years. I also noticed that there's a very negative review here on Yelp. For people that might be deterred by that review, I have to say that I think that person probably was expecting a day spa type of experience, which is a very different experience than a theraputic type of massage that you would get at a chiropractor's office.

I needed help recovering from a miserable rotator cuff injury. Covid lockdown in IL in 2020 blocked…read moreall local physical therapy (hereafter 'PT') options so I've driven 100+ miles round trip 1x/week for the past 6 months to Crown Point. Dr. Art is phenomenal - he quickly, accurately diagnosed underlying cause of my shoulder pain, explained it and then prescribed a relatively simple PT cure - stretching & progressive strengthening exercises. It has produced amazing results - my shoulder pain is virtually gone and as an added bonus my upper arms look great! Next my wife strained her lower back 2 mos. ago so I brought her with. Dr. Art diagnosed and remedied her back pain. But much more importantly he convinced my wife she might be able to overcome her balance issues (resulting from suffering a stroke 17 yrs ago) & possibly eliminate her reliance on a cane if she undertook a PT exercise program (again stretching & progressive strengthening exercises). In 8 weeks she's made great progress so we're very optimistic! Finally Dr. Art's been considerate & flexible re our stingy insurance provider - since they won't cover our PT sessions we pay Dr. Art directly. He charges us less than the trainer at our health club would charge while delivering exceptional results! We greatly appreciate Dr. Art's help!
