I needed help recovering from a miserable rotator cuff injury. Covid lockdown in IL in 2020 blocked all local physical therapy (hereafter 'PT') options so I've driven 100+ miles round trip 1x/week for the past 6 months to Crown Point. Dr. Art is phenomenal - he quickly, accurately diagnosed underlying cause of my shoulder pain, explained it and then prescribed a relatively simple PT cure - stretching & progressive strengthening exercises. It has produced amazing results - my shoulder pain is virtually gone and as an added bonus my upper arms look great! Next my wife strained her lower back 2 mos. ago so I brought her with. Dr. Art diagnosed and remedied her back pain. But much more importantly he convinced my wife she might be able to overcome her balance issues (resulting from suffering a stroke 17 yrs ago) & possibly eliminate her reliance on a cane if she undertook a PT exercise program (again stretching & progressive strengthening exercises). In 8 weeks she's made great progress so we're very optimistic! Finally Dr. Art's been considerate & flexible re our stingy insurance provider - since they won't cover our PT sessions we pay Dr. Art directly. He charges us less than the trainer at our health club would charge while delivering exceptional results! We greatly appreciate Dr. Art's help! I went to Dr. Arty (Dr. Artemio Del Real) after two visits to two others physical therapists with a bulging disc in my L5-S1. The first after 5 or 8 sessions worsen the problem and suggested that I do surgery. The second one sent me to the emergency after the second visit because the therapist was pulling my leg to relieve my bulging disc pain. This one charged me over one thousand dollars for two visits plus a consultation and it is still sending me a bill after over one year--that is they did not bill me in a year but then in January 2021 billed me. I went to Dr. Arty after the emergency visit. He treated me for a year. He did not cause me to have more pain ever. The pain was so severe that even coughing was painful. Thanks to Dr. Arty I am fully functional!!! He taught me how to care for my back! Also Dr. Arty is very personable and friendly! I highly recommend Dr. Arty if you have back problems. My teenage daughter and I both have been treated by Dr. Del Real for sports injuries that had been on going for over a year. We had tired numerous therapys and in my case pain shots, nothing was alleviating the pain. Until we had a consultation with Dr. Del Real. Within 3 weeks we were both on our way to being able to do all the activities we used to do before the injuries without pain and with the knowledge on how to do some of the physical activities correctly as to not re injure ourselves and with a therapeutic stretch to help keep us on track. I visited Dr. Del Real about 2 months ago for my lower back pain issue. He was really helpful. With his very simple method it made a significant change! I was very surprised with the result! During the process, Dr. Del Real was very patient and always answer the questions I have. I think not only he fix my back problem but more importantly he helped me understand what is my issue and how to strength my back and prevent pain in the future. I've spent two years in tremendous pain, trying everything imaginable to find relief from my lower back pain. Dr. Artie has me pain free in less than 6 weeks! I am floored by my experience with Dr. Del Real. I was his patient last Fall at his previous location in Chicago. Prior to that, I had chronic foot pain for three years, and a top surgeon at Northwestern Memorial had told me I needed surgery and that my condition was likely lifelong. I was devastated! I am only 30, and I love hiking. Other physical therapists I saw took the approach of throwing the kitchen sink at my issue; it would take 1 hour for me to complete all my at-home exercises. Dr. Del Real's regimen was so targeted that with only one home exercise I was able to see massive improvement within the first few weeks of my treatment. I am now pain-free and can do all normal activities again. I wore high heels on my wedding day this April, and I just returned from my honeymoon, where I went on a 9-day trek in the Himalayas.
