He was always a jerk, but I eventually saw his PA who was wonderful although kind of an airhead but I at least got the pain management I needed for my chronic illness/pain (Ehlers danlos syndrome). Thanks to the treatment they provided, I was able to get through life for many years. Trust me, without those pain meds, there are plenty of days I wouldn't have shown up to family functions or even to my job. However, all of that has changed now. Ever since this group took over and it's become interventional pain management, you don't even see the doctors anymore. They took me off of basically every medication I was on, switched me to much weaker stuff, and I've been in agony for the last several years. You only get to see the nurse practitioners, who frankly are so overloaded with patients that every time you go in there, they have no idea who you are. They never remembered me, even though I've been going there for years. the first nurse practitioner they put me with left the practice, but I would see K. Varner most of the time. She at least seemed to recollect me and was kind and genuine, albeit a little unknowledgeable about my illness. All the 'treatments' they ever tried with me failed, in fact they insisted I try a nerve ablation for my back pain several times and each time they did it, they screwed it up and my back turned out worse and I was in even more pain afterwards. That's extremely infuriating because that's several days I had to take off of work, that's inconveniencing friends and family who had to drive me home from the appointment because I couldn't do all of that for nothing, in fact all of that just to feel worse frankly because I think the doctors practicing there are all quacks and are incompetent and don't actually know what they're doing. I've seen it all the time across my career. More doctors are incompetent than are actually competent. (please do REAL research before you see any practitioner.) Then we get to the most evil healthcare worker I've ever met. Hanifa waarith. Listen... I work in healthcare myself. For a long time. I have also worked in customer service. I know how you're supposed to talk to people, especially those you care for. This woman is an egotistical narcissist who gets off on the fact that she's got power over you. The cold evil look in her eyes is genuinely frightening. But all of a sudden today, she decided to fire me as a patient for absolutely no reason and kick me out of the practice for good, and she seemed to be getting off on the fact that I was getting upset. I wanted to wipe that smirk clean off her face. She was so smug and arrogant and frankly, it's a relief I never have to see her ugly mug again. Frankly I already knew this was coming because of the way she treated me last time, which was exactly the same just not as bad; Arrogant, rude and condescending. Back to me being fired as a patient... Apparently, this is due to the fact that they are no longer treating chronic pain. Oh really?? Thanks for never ever communicating that! Ever! This place is a joke. Frankly I'm going to report her to the board because she shouldn't be taking care of anybody. Her treatment of me was completely unprofessional, unprovoked and she did not have to be so completely condescending and rude to me. I don't know what that woman's problem is, but she decided she hated me from the moment she laid eyes on me. She wanted confrontation from the moment she walked in. I'm a chronic pain patient. I've been getting treatment for 10 years, and I will likely need it for the rest of my life. I didn't deserve to be treated like that. She talked down to me like I was a kindergartener, or like a dog. I sobbed all the way home. And now I'm left with no pain management. Stay away from this place. If you want real pain management, try a real doctor in Chicago. Methodist in general is just a joke, and they are partnered with them.

UPDATE: Horrible experience with Doctor Bonynge. I'd give negative stars if I could. Took me a few…read moreweeks to get my original appt. I finally got in, we sat down &went through everything, I wasn't super comfortable, but I figured I would go ahead and get the epidural shot anyway because I was in excruciating pain & needed it. To get a little personal, I have anxiety when it comes to any medical procedures and I made the doctors aware of the situation so they suggested I get sedation. A week and a half later I finally get in to have my shot done. It was hotter than Hades in that office & was even hotter once you got back in the patient area. The bed they put me in was baking in the sun. It had to be nearly 80° and then they put a warm blanket on me. I sit down and my anxiety rampant. My blood pressure was high. My heart rate was high, and I had a Slightly elevated temperature, which are all symptoms of anxiety. They took my vitals every five minutes in a crowded room with constant beeping a blood pressure cuff going off every minute and then constantly telling me to calm down. As the timer went off every five minutes, I anxiety got worse. My Elevated temperature did go down to 99.4. And if you read the CDC says a fever is considered anything over 100.4. The doctor, then rudely comes over and tells me he cannot continue with the procedure because I must have some sort of infection. And then told me it was not possible to have an elevated temperature from anxiety. I've experienced this numerous times before I have been told by different doctors that it is completely possible to have an elevated temperature due to my anxiety, and I have read numerous studies from medical journals as well as information from the CDC that very clearly states heightened anxiety can cause an increase in temperature. When I explain this, he basically told me I was crazy. It wasn't possible. I have an infection. I have to go home. The minute I get home I take my temperature and it is a cool 98.7°. Just like I said no fever no infection it was caused by my anxiety. I called the office afterwards and ask them if I could reschedule my procedure but with a different doctor and she told me it was against policy and they wouldn't let me do so. After complaining she said she would talk to her supervisor and get back to me by the end of the day or at least the next morning at the latest. No call yet. Unprofessional, beyond ridiculous and I would say never come here and never see this doctor again I'm a little worried that he doesn't know that any of that is actually possible. Makes you wonder what else this doctor doesn't know. Here's a couple articles to enlighten you. https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC4843908/. https://www.health.com/mind-body/can-stress-cause-fever So after all of this mess and administrator calls me and tells me they will definitely give me a new doctor. They can even move me to a different clinic to have the procedure done and she's gonna see what she can do to get everything expedited and call me back and give her a day or two. Well, it's now been a week and she hasn't called me back clearly they don't care about their patients. I'm going to make sure I file complaints wherever I possibly can't about this place.

The Results: After a car accident, I decided to give him a try. I was in pain, had limited motion in my neck, and had frequent headaches. After just ONE treatment, I had less pain, drastically more movement, and significantly less headaches. He had me completely back to normal in two to three visits. I really like that about him. He fixes it quickly and painlessly, and doesn't drain you. I've been to others who want to treat me for months for one issue, and I didn't see results for weeks. Dr. Joe brings it! I have now recommended many there, and they all have the same great results! He has a proven track record. Pricing: Very affordable. You get more than you pay for! The Dr: He is very current and up-to-date with methods. He stays abreast of trends and new methods. He is passionate about what he does, and it shows that he loves his job! The Methods: They are unique, but EXTREMELY effective. I am NOT a fan of the jerking/quick popping/painful approach that many use. He uses a variety of methods. Incredible! He is a miracle worker as far as I'm concerned! Fabulous!

My name is Mary Harms & 22 years ago I was the recipient of an an orthopedic surgeon who accidentally stapled my saphenous nerve during an ACL reconstruction. 4 surgeries later-the nerve was amputated out of my leg. I have been in pain management since. (Name of surgeon was provided to consult if needed) I provided a list of all my doctors-numbers included. I provided the details of the closure of Advance Pain Management. Numbers included. I provided explanations why I was having difficulties getting my records. I was told, they do not write narcotics (which all clinics do when you first call) when the office manager came to the window to say they do not write Rx's-that they would not be seeing me??? (I did say YES I am looking to maintain my current course treatment-and alternatives) She was rude, her staff said PMS-and that lots of people demand Rx-in 22 years no office has ever complained they get lots of drug addicts-this office most. As a doctor's wife-all my friends docs-I concede there are seekers. I am not ONE of them. I was told the manager has SAY over who is seen! Not the Doctor Not the Nurse Practitioner. The office manager. She had an issue w/ my primary residence is in Waukegan-we also have a home in Miller. (Why I was looking in IN-did not lie) To my fellow pain patience-you know the humiliation I just suffered! We have all been there! To my fellow pain patient-you know the "Hoops" doctors now make us jump over! Only never has a PMS (her staff exact statement when I asked why did that happened? What did I do?? I knew-I stood up to manager. I run one of the most successful firm in my arena-I have access to power. None of my resume matters except if I was treated terribly-fighting back tears. Imagine how this office would treat the elderly, someone who did not fulling understanding or remembering everything when they first called to make the appointment. No need to imagine-this office treats new patient as drug addicts-criminals before any medical assessment. In closing-I will be fine, my primary care doc will manage my Rx's. I was wondering alternatives options, why I came down for this appointment. Are there new nerve Rx's that be helpful?? I was brought to tears-and humiliated. First time in 22 years. Thank You for reading. I hope you find a doctors office with compassion & caring.
