Both I and my wife booked an appointment with Dr. Kim today. We both had similar issues with our back pain. Dr. Kim took his time to 'read' us and our bodies, explained in detail what the acupuncture procedure was and then performed it on both of us. We both noticed less pain, more mobility at the end of the procedure and felt more focused. My wife told me that she even felt taller and more alert. Dr. Kim is very kind and talked to us about the benefits of acupuncture, cupping (which we also did during this initial visit) and correct breathing. I called complete Harmony acupuncture due to a cyst I have on my spine that was getting inflamed and irritated for the second time this year. The first time it got irritated earlier this year when I was living up in Colorado I went to a dermatologist there and their only recommendation was to inject it with steroids but as the dermatologist said it would mostly likely get irritated/swollen again and it did. So instead of going back to a dermatologist for another "Band-Aid" or surgeon I decided to see what acupuncture can do for my cyst and some other skin issues. My first visit with Haknam (Joey) and Vincent was one of the most pleasant experiences I've had in a very long time... Haknam definitely knows his craft (acupuncture) well and does an efficient job explaining everything that he is doing and what his services will accomplish over time. And Vincent is very effective with his reflexology and gives one of the best seated neck and shoulder massages I've ever had and I am a massage therapist by trade. Both men are very kind and nurturing and are constantly checking in to make sure you are comfortable and all of your needs are being met. The office is very clean and tranquil and their spa treatment rooms are a very pleasant place to be while getting treated from the very comfortable zero gravity beds to the peaceful scenes being casted on the wall and they even provide new hair ties for women who forget them! After the first treatment I slept so good that night, many more hours than I normally do. After a day or two my cyst swelling had gone down enough that I wasn't having pain anymore while moving my shoulders and back! After the second treatment the swelling and pain lessened even more and Haknam hasn't even done anything to my actual cyst or back yet! This was a "happy accident" and I'm blown away! Frustrated the commercial chain I usually visit constantly has wonky hours or just isn't in tune with their patients... I stumbled upon CH via Yelp. Called to inquire & was very surprised they'd allow me to schedule for this afternoon! Everything was above & beyond. Really, I can't emphasize how this practice turned my entire vision of acupuncture & healing around for the better. From the minute I walked in, I was promptly cared for. Dr. Joey is who you don't just want to see, but NEED! Very respectful & 100% in tune with the patient, as an individual. He didn't just want to jump in & execute- took the time to educate and explain the entirety. I learned a LOT! Focusing on "chi", how our body works with yin & yang aligning. Covering how mental state effects physical, encompassing why it's so important to pay attention to self-care. What was extremely important to me is battling kidney disease- and he took it probably more serious than my primary care doctor is treating it! I know it sounds "too good to be true" but no lie- I received better care, intuition & intelligence here than any doctor I've seen in the past decade. The entire practice is beautiful, comfortable & pristine. Ambience is wonderful with the water features. The lighting can be interchanged & new to me was the use of red lights. There's a projector in the room for the intro slideshow, but also relaxing visual scenes w/ ambient music as you relax during the session. We started w/ the consultation & education. Followed by a hot cup of herbal tea & herbal detox foot bath. The specialist came in for trigger point & reflexology. A very good neck/shoulder massage & attention to the feet in detox bath. From there, we went to the table for acupuncture. But it wasn't just acupuncture- Dr. Joey emphasized breathing technique & taught me how to inhale/exhale properly while monitoring my pulse points. It was not intrusive & I found it hard to not drift off into a very relaxed nap! The entire session was above what I'd expected. I got up feeling like a TON of toxic was released & very optimistic with how just one visit turned my world around within an hour. So it goes without saying I am booked for a follow up in a week! To top it off, I was given a generous first time offer & also introduced to their referral rewards. Plus, a take home supply of herbal tea & direction for home foot detox baths to maintain. They were with me every step & I felt genuinely cared for. Hands down, I've never received this kind of top notch- I don't think there is a comparison. I filled out the inquiry form online, and Joey (the acupuncturist) quickly responded same day and was able to schedule an initial appointment the very next day. The space is very calm and inviting. I was seen right on time, and allocated a lot of time with Joey during my initial appointment to discuss my health goals and also for him to explain in eastern medicine terminology where my deficiencies were. He started with the session with a pulse diagnosis, and after about only 3-4 needles, he checked my pulse again and could already notice a difference - and I immediately felt better, too!
