    Wonderful team! Came in for a wellness visit and establish care. They treat you kindly and love your animal as each one is their own. Plus! They don't push treatments and give you time to ask questions. We left here happy without breaking the bank. Pup is happy and so am I.

    I had a great experience taking my ginger kitty Emma Stone to Compassion Veterinary Center. I had not taken my kitty to the vet since I got her over 2 years ago because of the pandemic. So, I knew she was overdue and I was worried about her not having been seen in over 2 years by a vet. Like every pet parent who treats their pets like children, I was anxious and had TONS of questions. They were super gentle with her despite her growling at them and they were SUPER patient with my plethora of questions. They gave her the shots she needed, inspected her little body all over, clipped her nails and gave her treats. The cost was obviously a lot as all vet care is, but it was still reasonable and I wasn't overcharged for things. My kitty was not feeling well the next day and I was super worried when she wasn't interested in food (food is life for her and she squeals in delight when she gets food). The vet was very kind to call me back and alleviate my concerns that she was just feeling crummy from her shots. She is feeling MUCH better today and is eating normally, but the doctor really reduced my anxiety with her kindness. Every single person I encountered at this center was friendly and kind. Being new to the Frederick area, I'm super glad to have established a good vet for my precious kitties.

    Everyone in the office (assistant who took my appt, the staff who checked us in and gave us the meds) was knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. My cat is skittish and Dr. Hain was wonderful. She reviewed the wellness results and was detailed in answering my questions. I am so glad my friend recommended her. Thank you!

Happily paid for any and all that was recommended. Even when Dr.Wilson removed what he said was a tumor from my then 4 year old chihuahua and it turned out it was a healthy, normal salivary gland. We didn't get angry or argue having to pay for what turned out to be a completely unnecessary surgery. We accepted that doctors are human too and moved on. We put our trust in them, gave them respect and never questioned their recommendations. We spent tens of thousands of dollars there. We sent them gifts in appreciation. And in return some of them have treated us like garbage. We had an issue with their groomer, Amy. My dog was injured during grooming(per their report)but again we weren't angry at the time or blaming. We figured those things happen sometimes. But her response was to completely shut down and refuse to give any information that could help treat my dog. Over the next few months, my dog had to have her toe removed. And still the management staff and groomer treated us like we had done something wrong! Again we never blamed, never asked for compensation, we simply said because Amy wouldn't communicate we didn't want to use her as a groomer. From that point many of the staff was cold and at times out right rude to me. When we finally expressed unhappiness with the treatment and handling of things the office manger, Marney made it clear our continued business was not wanted. They were happy to let a client of over 15 years leave because they prioritized their groomers ego over a long term client

    For eight years I've been taking my pets to this clinic I've paid upfront they've never had a…read moreproblem I've never took it taken any type of credit out but tonight I asked them for a little help to wait $95 to see a sick puppy but I want to see well and the doctors said no and the owners said no and the receptionist Laurie Laura I don't even know her name Laurie or Laurie whatever her name is was very cold and mean and not feeling anything I don't understand how people things to save other creatures but they can choose because if you have $95 that's acceptable but if you don't have the moment it's a week I said I would pay the middle week it's not a loan it's not a payment plan like Laurie tried to argue that it was it was it was just I've been with you for eight years. I will be loyal, just help me save this puppy. It is puppy, but they turned us away and so much higher with my themselves for a week and they walked them and paid them in all the fun stuff but they don't want to collect coin from us. That's good you put your faith in your humanity on the line for these people that really just wanna play with your animals or your life like who does that change to step up and take action? Guess what I can take pride of myself that I take action for my students because I'm a teacher and believe if you're kid is in my car or somebody's trying tosomething or another that you're not happy with it your child is not happy with. I will be there and I will push through no matter what that's what she is taking care of people that you got into profession for thanks docs you guys are fantastic puppy thank.     I used their extension clinic in Thurmont for my cats annual exams/shots last year and was very…read morepleased with Dr. Stasty, but they can't keep animals overnight there, so when I recently had to board 2 cats with 'special circumstances', and this place was recommended to me, it seemed like the best option (I used to have a great pet sitter but this place prohibits their employees from that, or even recommending anyone, because they admitted it would cut down on their profits!), but it was a very unpleasant experience. I have a medical background myself (retired cardiac/critical care nurse) and left very explicit instructions, most of which were ignored, including which vet I wanted to examine them (same as last year) and what procedures I wanted done (which had been done last year w/o any issues.) I also told them I wouldn't be reachable if they had any questions (was in the hospital), and gave my cat rescue (knowledgeable) friend's contact information (who was with me and witnessed this whole process), but of course they never did. FYI, BTW, they feed all their borders a canned kidney diet, which is low protein and not always palatable or even suitable for diabetic cats (who need portion-controlled low-carb food); you can bring your own, but if they run out they don't go to the store to get more, which I was told they would (and would've been happy to reimburse them for.) Both cats have digestive issues and have gotten sick before from having their diet changed while boarding, but fortunately no problems when I got them home this time. I also don't care much for their location at the intersection of 2 very busy roads (and I saw them let one cat leave w/o a collar, leash, or carrier so if they had squirmed out of their Mom's arms, it would have been curtains- most places will lend you something you can return later), and getting in and out through the neighboring busy (new FMH cancer /office building) parking lot is like a maze and an accident waiting to happen, go VERY slow. Suffice it to say, I was so upset when I went to pick them up 3 days and $750 later (which wouldn't have been out of the question if they had received the proper care) I burst into tears in the waiting room. The vet who examined them, who I really disliked, had the nerve to say to me she didn't do 1 test I requested because she wasn't familiar with it and after looking it up didn't understand why I wanted it done (it is used to monitor heart failure), and didn't do another (for diabetes control) I requested because the receptionist had told her the wrong test. This was all almost a month ago and I am still beyond pissed off at the terrible service (I had to wait to leave this review until I calmed down), although I will probably continue to use the Thurmont office as long as Dr. Stasty is there (they rotate shifts), as the choices in this area are very limited and I also had a bad experience at another local vet, but I won't put them through a similar experience at this location again. One of my sweet boys was so happy to see me when I put him in the car that he danced around in circles in his carrier like a puppy!
