    Quail Crest Memory Care

They took wonderful care of her from April until she passed away. From giving her meds during the day to checking on her at night, they were patient and well trained. My whole family thanks Kelly, both Katies, Star, Teegan, Hailey, Morgan, and Ed for their love for my mom. I highly recommend Quail Crest, Clover Cottage.

I did a crazy number of tours, of all the different memory care facilities in Eugene. And I have to…read moresay, Quail Crest is up near the very top. Elder Health and Living, Chateau Gardens, and Waterford Grand, are the other top places. But Quail Crest is the place I picked. One thing you want to check, is if the facility has medicare rollover. Which means once the resident runs out of money, will the facility allow the resident to remain? Quail Crest does allow this. Waterford Grand does not. Quail Crest has these individual "houses" where the residents live. And they have a shared "backyard", that all the residents from the different houses can all access. It has a BBQ, easy to walk paths, beautiful gardens, and many plants. And in this shared yard, they can interact with residents from different cottages. The facility very clean, but it doesn't feel like a hospital. They have a lot of activities, and things for the residents to do. We had a few minor bumps in the first few months, but that was during 2020, and they had a lot of staff turnover. But since then, they seem to have have gotten things sorted out. Many of the staff who was working there, were willing to give out their cel phone numbers, so you could call or text, and get updates on how things were going. It is a very expensive facility, so that would be one of the downsides. But when talking about caring for a loved-one, you want the best for them.

The Springs Memory Care and staff was amazing. The beautiful building and well thought out memory…read morecare facility is what attracted us to the Springs, but the STAFF and the kindness inside the building is what made the difference. The memory care director is easily accessible and often found on the floor helping. The memory care has a full time RN with his office located in memory care, the meals are prepared on site and served warm and fresh. Everyone from the director, aides, chefs, entertainment director and housekeeper were involved in my dad's care. Moving a loved one into memory care was not easy, but during my father's year at the Springs, he was well cared for and was able to stay at the Springs and pass peacefully on hospice care. My father had been in multiple facilities in the Eugene area and it was not until we moved into the Spring's Memory Care that we felt he was safe, well cared for and stimulated with activities.

When we put my mother in River Run Place we had a fear my mother might become a two person assist…read more We were assured by Luke the manager that would not be a problem. We were assured the help would check on mom every two hour since she was unable to go to the restroom on her own. They told us they wanted this to be her forever home. This seemed like the perfect place for mom. Two days after we moved mom in she fell trying to get to the restroom on her own. She slit her arm open with a bad wound. She was sent to the hospital. The hospital returned her to River Run but her arm got infected and she had to return to the hospital. After several days in the hospital she was sent to a rehab facility for three weeks. Mom was then returned to River Run Place where she spent two days before she fell again. The hospital said that mom was now a two person lift. When they called River Run, Luke told them he could not take care of her. We were put in a horrible situation trying to find a place for my mom on such short notice The only reason we chose River Run was because we were assured they could do a two person lift. We are still not sure if we will get any of our almost $12,000 back. Way too much money and stress for the five days she lived there. I do not feel this is a safe place if your loved one needs special help.
