I have a storage unit there. I rented in June or July, and my rent was $58. It is now Dec. and my rent is $91. I called corporate to complain, and Andrew M the regional manager basically said that that is the market rate. My wife called and was given a price of $71 for the same unit, as a base rate with move in discounts. Before my next payment is due, I will be gone. I there is no justifiable reason to raise the rent 58% in six months. Oh another thing, even though I paid, they locked me out of my unit. They then apologized for locking me out of my unit because there was an issue in their accounting dept. DO NOT rent from them because they will suck you in with a low rate. Once you are in, they start hitting you in the nuts every 3 months with rent increases ....it is in the contract.... read more

Beware!!! this is robbery! I rented and moved my elderly mothers things in Feb 2024. the monthly rate was $144.00. In 7 months, they have raised the price 2 times! It is now $214.00! Thats a 50% increase in 7 months!!!! now we have to move her things again! read more

We went from paying $115 a month to $242 a month in less than a year!! We were never given notice of the rent increase nor does it even make any sense to us. Watch out for regular rate increases. You will start with a low promo rate and the will move to the regular rate. After this they will increase you monthly rate every 6 months by around $45. read more

Reviewing for UHaul, not Self Storage. I called and left a message. It was returned promptly. The woman I spoke with, Leslie, was great: friendly, helpful. The truck I reserved was ready for me when I needed it, she took the time to explain the "gas cheat sheet" portion of my contract which I really really appreciated. I've rented from UHaul several times (other states) and never have any of the representatives showed me that "cheat sheet" portion of the contract which tells you exactly how many gallons you need to put into the truck to return it to same level at time of rental - I hate playing "the gas game". Unlike other locations, this truck actually had a padlock and key provided - super convenient. I had no problems with the truck. I did an after hours drop off. I rented from this location a second time and once again, everything went very smoothly. At the 2nd rental there was a different woman in the office and she was just as pleasant as Leslie. There was a surly man there though - he was behind the desk so he must be an employee - glad I didn't have to interact with him. Convenient easy-to-find, easy-to-get-to location. The office is clean and tidy. There is plenty of safe, well-lit parking and it's not a problem to leave your personal vehicle there while you are using one of their trucks. read more

Nice, clean facility, but they use deceptive practices when renting units. I talked to 2 people by phone, then Bill Wallace via email. No one informed me about the $25 service fee to rent the rent unit, nor the $12 monthly insurance fee. Supposedly the insurance fee is waived if you can produce a home owners insurance policy, but nowhere are you told about these added fees prior to actually being present to rent a unit. When brought to the attention of Lesley (office manager), she said corporate policies prevent disclosure of added fees until the unit is actually rented. When first renting the unit, the lady who rented it to me was fairly nice (probably because I was helping her meet a quotient). The locks are fairly priced. However, when calling to cancel my storage space, the lady I spoke to was short, condescending, and flat out rude. She didn't even start the conversation with a warm welcome or a nice greeting. At first mention of cancellation, she immediately got mean spirited. NEVER RENT FROM SOMEONE WHO WILL TREAR ANYONE LIKE THIS. When I asked for her name so I could speak to her boss, she snatched her cards of the front desk so I could get her last name! Ridiculously petty behavior for a General Manager! A very service oriented staff and well maintained facility WHEN IT WAS BRIGHTWOOD SELF STORAGE. Now its a total mess. Moved out of the unit the end of August after giving appropriate notice, and now the new owners at Compass keep billing and adding late charges to a vacant unit. Call their customer service number and I can hear them typing their notes, but have to repeat myself every time. "Did you give 10 days notice?" - I gave 30 days notice and the unit is vacant.... "well, you were required to give 10 days notice" Seriously this new owner does not have their act together. Would never recommend read more

I would give zero stars if possible. Someone got into my storage unit and left a TV box, tennis rackets, pillows, trash cans, and other items. I was the only one with a key and I left it locked and did not go back for three months over the summer and when I opened it all of these random items were at the back of my unit. When I went to inform management, I politely explained my situation. The woman at the front desk did not apologize or try to help me in any way she simply sent me away and told me if I didn't remove those items I would continue to be charged. I never leave yelp reviews, this is in fact my first one, but I felt that this needed to be shared. Please - don't go here. I can't imagine what would have happened if I had left expensive items. This facility is by far superior to other storage facilities in the area. The property is impeccably clean ,safe,well lit, with servalance cameras everywhere. To add to this, the manager Lesley went above and beyond our expectations to accommodate our needs as well as coordinating a moving truck!! Couldn't have asked for better service!! Can't say enough about the facility and staff! The staff has always been helpful and courteous. Leslie and Phil always greet you with a smile and professionalism. Anytime I have had questions they have promptly answered and I have never had any concerns. Having an on-site manager gives the extra comfort of security along with the security gates and cameras.
