First, I come to their shipping counter as before, very clean and well maintained, and placed my packages upon said counter. One lady on duty, on the other side of the area, who appeared to be doing laminating work. Focused on her work, I get that, yet oblivious to the fact that she had a customer. A "We'll be right with you, sir!" was all that was required. But nothing. When I finally did get her attention she asked if I was shipping packages, a fact that to me was obvious, but I told her I was and she assured me I'd be taken care of soon. As I stood and continued to wait I saw a man coming my way, thin build with a beard. And the rudest staff member I ever encountered. No greeting, asked me what I wanted, no "How may I help you?" as other Staples do. I told him trying to break the ice, with my hands on the packages, "I want these to go away." Then he demonstrated why he'll never have a better job than this, he asked me if I want to ship the packages. I told him "Yes" with just an edge of impatience to my voice. Then he said what he never should have said, "How am I supposed to know that??" So I explained, "I'm here at the UPS counter, I have packages with UPS labels, two plus two equals ..... " He told me with the same rude tone that he'd be back and I knew he wouldn't, I saw him speaking to two others, one I presumed to be the manager, if he hadn't been busy I'd have brought this to his attention. Finally the lady had a break from her work and more politely checked in my packages and gave me my tracking info. Anyone who wants to do business with this store, you're welcome to them.

However, the movers were an hour late and showed up with an extra person than I was not originally quoted. Which is fine, if it doesn't change my quote, but what I was charged ended up being expodentially higher than what I anticipated based on the quote. Especially since I moved a majority of my items before they arrived. I had most of the items already ready and took apart and put together my bed itself. I even assisted helping move what I had left by loading the smaller items in my car. I moved most of the items before they even arrived so they had really only had the heavy/bigger items that I couldn't take myself. There were also 30 minutes I couldn't even find the movers, even after calling them. I had moved 6 minutes down the road but it took them over 30 minutes to arrive. I had driven back, double checked they got everything, locked everything up, came back to the new place, and still waited another 15 minutes. So they were off somewhere unknown to me. This also lowered my trust in their service. When I asked for an itemized receipt so I could double check how I was being charged, I never heard from them again. If you do decide to use this company, you should know that the quality is excellent because they take care in how your items are moved, their professionalism and communication is great but you may hear them complaining if items are heavy. I think the funniest comment I heard from them was "Everything is heavy Up in this Crib". I would recommend ensuring someone is there the entire time to ensure you track when they leave and when they arrive at the new location and have them itemize the receipt before sending you the bill. A vague receipt won't do to make sure you aren't overcharged.

An absolute joke of a company.....We contacted North American Van Lines for our move from…read morePittsburgh to Texas. They subcontracted to George. The packers consisted of two women (no problem), one of whom was 30 weeks pregnant (again, no problem) and left every 30 minutes to go smoke (starting to be a problem). I'm willing to look the other way, fine. My family and I fly to Texas and 2 weeks from when they put our stuff on a truck (and WAY past the promised delivery window), we are still sitting on plastic lawn furniture in our house (now a BIG problem). When we call both George and North American Van Lines, they direct us to the other and say "I don't know what's going on with your shipment." Now we are upset. Finally, a customer service agent at North American levels with us and says that George doesn't have the capacity to haul your stuff to Texas and North American should NEVER have used them. Interesting coming from the company we hired. Anyway, we are on week 3 of our move, my son cries that he wants to move back to Pittsburgh (because he at least had a bed there) and we are still fighting with them to find a driver to move our stuff. I'm looking into flights to go pick my stuff up myself and drive it to Texas. PLEASE AVOID GEORGE MOVING AND STORAGE and NORTH AMERICAN VAN LINES at ALL COSTS. No family should have to go through what we have.

This was the absolute worst experience I have ever had with a move. I wanted to make my move from…read morePittsburgh to Alabama as painless as possible, so I figured hiring full service movers to pack and unpack would be nice. I was quoted $10,000 for my 3 bedroom home to be transported. Other companies quoted me from $5,000-$7,500, but David (the estimator) was very nice and convincing that everything would go smoothly, so we splurged. 1. When the packers were packing my house up into boxes, the assistant packer spilled a whole bag of lentils in my basement. He never bothered to tell me and never bothered to clean it up. They also left empty tape rolls and box tops all over my house. They did not clean up after themselves. 2. The movers arrived the next day to load the van. There were four of them, two of them stood around and talked the whole time and barely moved anything. When they felt they had loaded everything, they hurried up and closed the van and didnt even bother to do a walk through to make sure everything was taken. They left two closets fully stocked and we had to throw away an ironing board, shoe racks, and figure out how to transport two bags of the clothing. 3. They advised me of a delivery window of 5 days that my stuff would be delivered and I would know the exact day about 3 days prior. They said the night before my delivery, my driver would contact me to let me know an estimated arrival time. We tried to reach the driver multiple times the entire day before up until 11 pm. I was told he would call by 9 pm. The coordinator tried to reach him multiple times and he wasn't responding to her as well. The next morning at 7 am, the driver texts me to tell me he will be there by 8 am. How unprofessional! He uses having a flat tire as an excuse to not responding the entire day prior. Communication is essential in this business. 4. We had paid for unpacking as well. They said they don't unpack and just put things out of the box and onto a countertop. No thanks! That's not unpacking. 5. Carol, the coordinator for the move, sent me a final price. Then she goes back and changes it to $1,000 more and charges my credit card. When I asked for a detailed invoice, she had to go to the billing department because there wasn't one made. Three days later and two followup emails requesting a detailed invoice later, she calls and asks if the movers unpacked my goods. When I said they didn't, she says invoice should be ready later that day. They sent the invoice the next day and just basically tweaked numbers to justify the amount they arbitrarily charged my credit card without running actual numbers. I sent an email to Carol after the initial packing disaster and she said she would send this to people help resolve the matter, never heard from anyone. I went with this company because of the positive reviews, but I urge others to go with small moving companies that actually care about the clients and not big corporations that don't quality control. I used Moto Movers the year prior from akron to Pittsburgh, and he was amazing, personable, and good. He was willing to do this move, but I thought let me try a bigger company. Learnt my lesson!
