Vets4Pets Newbury - This is our beautiful boy that they completely neglected at the end of his life

Despite my many emails to them, this shocking, disgraceful, neglectful Veterinary practice…read more(Vets4Pets Newbury) continue to ignore me and refuse to accept any responsibility or liability for the neglectful and disgusting treatment of our beautiful 12 year German Shepherd right at the end of his life; just when he needed them most. I cannot emphasise enough to anyone reading this how distressing it was for my wife to phone around other vets to come and help us by putting our beautiful boy to sleep as he was deteriorating by the hour as they would not help us. We are seeking independent advice from a vet mediation service but until then everyone needs to be aware how Vets4Pets Newbury failed our family and more importantly our beautiful boy in the worst possible way at the worst possible time, and we will never forgive or forget the pain they have caused. I urge anyone reading this to not use them as they will not only rip you off they will not care one bit about your pet.

Completely unskilled Vets probably minimal qualified, and clueless when it comes to rabbit care,…read morethese Vets killed my beloved bunny when in GI stasis was sent home with painkillers and no meds or treatment at all! I complaint and was ignored. I went to see another Vet who advised my bunny was in immediate need of intensive care otherwise he would die. I demanded these Vets to pull their finger and they performed a theatrical 30 minute gi stasis care in front of us which most likely they googled. Completely inept also showed to be unskilled when diagnosing inexistent ailments just for the sake of profiteering and submit my poorly weak and anorexic bunny still in Gi stasis meds to unsuitable unnecessary treatments. I managed to move my bunny to another Vet but they advised the condition had deteriorated and his stomach was dilated with gas - because the Vet never gave him necessary meds or admitted him to intensive care. These Vets should be stripped of their titles and closed down, by the looks of it I wasn't the only one affected with their negligence. It is disgraceful that authorities continue allowing these practices to exist jeopardising animal health and well-being. Shame on you PETS AT HOME for advertising these inept Vets!

Our cat has ended up at this veterinary twice - first with a ruptured diaphragm and then with a…read morebroken and infected leg (he has a dicey relationship with cars it seems). Both times he was extremely sick and the Mildmay staff were supportive and did everything they could to help him. They called at least three times a day to update us on his progress, gave us amazing instruction with his after care and drugs and were clear about costings and adhering to our insurance plan. They were always clear about his chances of survival and delivered bad news in a considerate manner. He also loved them and seemed happy during his stays, with as little distress as could be expected in the circumstances. They showed a great deal of care for him and were extremely sympathetic. Everything has healed beautifully and we would not hesitate to return if anything else were to happen.

This is by far the worst veterinary that I have ever frequented with my animals. I was aware that…read moremy family had suffered difficulties with this surgery before, but my cat needed immediate help and I was desperate so I had to take her to Mildmay. The treatment as a customer is nothing short of vile, here you will be made to feel small and as if your are unable to care for your animal. You will be bullied into paying their extortionate fees. They are rough and careless with your pets causing more harm than good. An example I will give you can only be that after my animal received medical attention I asked if I should keep her indoors. I was told that she would be fine to go outdoors, she'd been dealt with and I'd have no more problems. Although dubious I let her outside because being indoors was causing her distress. Half an hour later a man appeared at my door holding my cat, telling me that she'd wandered off and fallen asleep in the middle of a walkway and flies had begun to gather around her. After further research I've discovered that my cat should not have been allowed out and she is now recovering in my house. I was extremely lucky somebody found her, otherwise I have no idea how long she might've been laying there for on her own. These people are money grabbing, bullying creatures who are a disgrace to their profession. I urge you not to use this service! I certainly will not be again, there are other vets in the Winchester area! Please take your animals somewhere kinder!
