Do not bring your car to Compact Auto Body in Matawan. They have had my 2021 Chrysler Pacifica for 34 days and there is no ETA for my Bumper. I brought the car in a week before I dropped it off to get a head start on Ordering parts and to avoid a long period of time without my vehicle. I dropped the vehicle off 6-19-21 and they are telling me there is no ETA for my bumper and they cannot give me my car back while I wait..... Part was Expedited from Chrysler with no ETA. Would have been great if they told me that before I gave them the car, seeing that was the whole point of coming in 1 week earlier.. Now I have an out of pocket expense for every day I use the rental provided.... Which is costing 6 times more then the actual body repair. 3/11/2018 - Here is an update to a bad experience gone worse - Compact was to pay for my rental car after the thirty days since it took so long for the repair and as it turns out Enterprise charged my card that they had on file, when I went to Compact to have them repair the center console, it was explained that Enterprise charged my card to the women in the office and she said she would take care of it, this was on 2/23/2018 and to date this had not happened. We reached out to Enterprise and still no credit so we disputed the charge with our credit card company. On February 23 while having the console repaired the shop manager also wanted to discuss this review and thought I was tough on them and he thought they did an excellent job on this complicated repair, wish I could post pictures of the panel fitment as the hood was off and the top of the drivers side rear door was not flush, fender gaps not even, etc.. Anyway this car should have been totaled and Compact auto body made a bunch of money and I lost a bunch of money on this vehicle. At the end I traded the vehicle in and lost money as I don't feel this car is safe for my wife and children to be in at any speed, this is a family vehicle which was driver frequently on long highway road trip vacations. I feel bad for the next owner of the vehicle and hope I am wrong about the safety of the vehicle. The purpose of this review is to help, Compact so that maybe next time Compact auto body has a vehicle that has 80%+ damage to it, they advise the owner on how to possibly have the vehicle totaled and perform a service to their community. I would like to start and say that I am a very particular person because of my OCD, which demands near perfection when getting something repaired. Compact Auto Body is a first class, body shop and organization. They do an amazing job from A-Z when it comes to professionalism with their staff and follow through in the quality of work they perform. Tesla's are very difficult cars to repair and they do a top-notch job. My experience with them was amazing from the first interaction in 2021 up until today when I picked up my car. To make a long story short, I had some delivery day issues that required paint correction work. After visiting another Tesla Certified Body Shop 2 separate times, that did poor work, I did my own research and found Compact Auto Body. They performed the body work in 2021 and it was a phenomenal experience. Two years later, I was having some issues with the work in terms of surface rust on my car. After communicating with them for about a week, I met with their regional manager and general manager, Kassie, and they agreed to correct the issues no questions asked. They corrected the job that had previously been done, as well as another warranty paint job that needed to be completed via factory defect. I got my car back better than ever and could not be happier. If you are a are looking for top notch service car and quality, choose this body shop and you will have zero regrets. My car looks perfect, and no one would ever notice that there were any repairs to it. I had the best experience here. A tree branch fell on my car on Christmas and I thought it would take a while to get it fixed. They took my car and fixed it in 3-4 days. It looks brand new. They did a fantastic job. I will definitely be using them in the future. They also cleaned the whole inside of my car. I really appreciate it. Everyone that works here was very kind and informative. I have used compact Auto Body in Matawan on Rt. 79 probably for at least the last 20 years. I would never consider using any other auto body shop because not only are their prices fair, but they do excellent work. my car was dented on the R side by some parking lot accident. they took my Tesla and fixed it perfectly. car was returned to me, beautifully detailed. regular status updates sent via text, and car was ready on the estimated date (approx four hours before the time given). great service, expectations clearly laid out, and cost was what my Geico estimator described. 5/5, would highly recommend. read more

So far I am very disappointed with their service. I have Tesla Model S 75D,. We had the drivers side door dented as we were getting into the garage and a minor front collusion. I have state farm insurance. I figured, they are close to our house and reviews have been good. Bad choice. They are not State Farm Select Service Provider. Also they are also not a company dealership Auto Body shop. They asked me to bring in the car so they can order the parts, we did that. Now when the parts came in, we brought in the car. As expected once they opened the door and front end they needed more parts. Not sure why they could not do this when they had scheduled our car fo review. More parts were ordered and our car has been sitting in their Garage for last 2 months +. They complained that "Elon Musk" is not shipping parts fast enough, this was a Honda Civic, it would have been done etc.... After struggling to get the computers calibered properly for weeks... as I would get notification on my app whenever the alarm would go off (not sure what the issue was???) They advised me that the car ready but they need to send it Tesla Dealership to get help with configuration, etc. All this while we have been patiently waiting and I have been paying $1,300 each month of finance charge on the vehicle. I called them last week, they said the vehicle is back from the dealership, they have to send State Farm supplemental charge for the work that was done in the dealership. For this they need State Farm Claim's adjuster to come and see the vehicle before they can release the vehicle. They have already raked up a bill of $19,504.04 and sent in another supplement of $1,936.43. Total bill is $21,440.47. I called State Farm Insurance, they have paid me and Compact directly for all the claims that have been submitted. Now we are waiting for the latest paperwork to process between Compact and State Farm. This process had been painful and very nerve wracking. TESLA OWNERS BEWARE, SUGGEST YOU SEND YOUR VEHICLE TO DEALERSHIP and Check with your insurance company. I will advise you on the quality of the work once I receive the car. read more

I've used Compact for small repairs on my Tesla MS85 and for a full on accident repair on an Acura a couple of years ago. Their work is top notch with attention to detail in the finish, which is what matters to me the most. My family has always used Compact Auto Body in Matawan. They always were very pleased with the service and the repairs. I stopped by today while running errands because I had a problem with a cloudy headlight and wanted to inquire about repairs to the light and my cracked windshield. The staff was very nice, honest and helpful. They told me my options and sent a technician out to speak with me. The technician, Chris, met me by my car to talk to me. To my surprise he asked if I had twenty minutes to spare and he'd clean it up for me before I spend over 500 dollars to have it replaced. I said sure and he took my car back to fix it. Customer service is becoming more rare these days. And honest salespeople are basically extinct. That's why I will recommend Compact Auto Body and Chris to all my family, friends and "yelpers" out there!!!! If you have even minor damage they are fast, friendly and professional! read more

My car was hit in the side quarter panel compact auto repaired it in 2012 the paint was a spot on point great. here we go again 2/19/2019 the car is like new the same side the two doors got hit I got three estimates 1-$4100.00 / 2-$4400.00 / 3-$6100.00 compact was the highest I wasn't paying so the price didn't matter to me they did the first job and it was great so the appraiser came out and said $2900.00 compact said for me to leave the car they will talk with the appraiser its ok they told him $5400.00 he said he's going to total the car I went to get the car they tried to get me to leave it telling me I can't get it insured then they had cut a hole in one door they pulled the windows out and the mirror off the tail light out a lot of parts off the car I don't get it the insurance company said they would pay $2900.00 they ask for $6100.00 I didn't tell them to rip my car a part and the insurance didn't agree to $6100.00 or $5400.00 why did they take the car all a part with out money they charge the insurance company $700.00 then they was going to try a double charge they said I had a bill for the work when they heard me talk with the insurance company they said forget it that's why insurance rate are high now insurance fraud there was a woman in the shop that Saturday she had hole in her front bumper about the size of a soft ball she said they told her the car was total I got my car back a had it fix for $2600.00 that was close to what the insurance said the first time $2900.00 sound like some fraud to me compact auto body be care full there read more
