The dressing on this fabulous! So tasty it's addicting! The beets, candied walnuts and cheese mixed with the arugula was such a fantastic and delicious combo! I'd drive 4 hours just for this salad! The all meat pizza is delicious! The tangy tomato sauce is a very welcomed change of flavor when compared to other pizzas. The sour dough crust is a welcome change too! The bartender/server Rebekah let us sit wherever we wanted and brought the menus and our waters to us. She also notified us they were out of romaine lettuce so no Caesars Salad. We weren't super hungry. The kid ordered the smash burger and I got the spring harvest salad, and a cup of tomato soup. Food came out relatively quickly. I was surprised how gigantic my salad was! Portions are quite generous. The kid's burger was pretty big but it wasn't hot (the cheese wasn't even melted). My salad dressing was minimal but there was a lot of blue cheese. Tomato soup was decent. Food quality was so-so, but location can't be beat (at least for us). Service was great! Rebekah was friendly and attentive. Overall 3.5 stars.

This past Saturday, September 12, I brought my fiancé who is Hispanic my best friend who is black, and my two children and 11 month old and a six-year-old after a hike on Donner Summit. I brought up to them that I know a great spot to go get some food. I've been coming here for years! And we were totally baffled. I was baffled taken back and shocked with how we were treated. Honestly, to my husband and my best friend who are people of color, they are taking this personally as a racial discrimination. The waiter stated, and the staff the hostess and the bartender that they were sorry that we were ignored that our order got lost that they were busy? And they were not busy lol at all! As someone who spent 12 years in the food service industry as a waitress and a bartender, this was despicable I ordered the Southwest eggrolls, my best friend she ordered the veggie sandwich. My fiancé ordered the Hawaiian burger, and luckily for me when the waiter did finally come over and get our drink order I put in my two children's orders which was a cheeseburger and a grilled cheese sandwich from the kids menu. And made sure that that came first. And it did. But the three of us adults literally sat and watched two large parties that came in after us get served before us, two people sitting beside us of a party of three and then another party of four get served before us, and we had our order put in with the waiter prior to all of this! Simple as three orders, again a veggie sandwich, some eggrolls and a burger that never came. We literally sat at the table for 45 minutes to an hour, we weren't asked how we were doing? We weren't asked did we need any refills or anything? I had to get up twice for water refills, twice for a soda refill! And I would've been pretty pissed off. If my kids food didn't come first because my children were getting antsy after eating. I can only imagine how they would've been having to wait an hour with no food. Under the grace of God that was brought out first as adults don't mind suffering, but at least the kids were taken care of. When I went up to the staff the hostess and asked her where my order was, I could see the kitchen staff sitting there on their cell phones. Not doing anything not cooking nothing nothing even under the heat lamps. When I asked the hostess, where my order was? She said to check with my waiter who I said is nonexistent, she looked in the system and could not find our three orders. She then went and hunted down the waiter and hunted down the bartender, I can see the three of them gathering around confused? I went up and confronted the staff and they said they were sorry and our order " WAS NVER PUT IN"!!!!!!!! They will put it in now and rush it.!!!!! We were literally the only ones in that restaurant with no food and of course now the big party two table rush is done now they worried about the little people! lol I said he'll no.!! My kids are done with their food and will not wait for us to eat at this point !! The most they did was comp our kids food order, our two margaritas and a soda!! And said to come back again possibly and they would make it right.! They also said there was not management to speak to and they were just winging it.?!!! I personally will never be back! Nor will I ever word-of-mouth speak of this place ever again, and if I hear that it's been brought up and I'm around. I will immediately deter anybody from going into this restaurant after this experience. Especially since the dump Trump, and the anti-Trump protesters were literally standing outside the street corner, preaching equality and justice for all but yet you're gonna treat two people of color that come into your establishment like shit! That's how we're looking at it, cause that's how it felt. Everybody that was white skinned got treated really quick except for me being with two colored people and my two children. Definitely disappointed, but I kind of figured since all the staff and I knew back in the day have now long since gone onto bigger and better things.
