First off, the service here was genuinely excellent. The store was well-stocked, organized, and easy to browse, but what really stood out to me was how kind and helpful the employees were. Good customer service is hard to find these days, and the staff here honestly made me smile. I accidentally forgot my wallet in the car, and the young lady at the register was very understanding and let me run out to grab it without any issue. There was no line at the time, but still -- that level of patience and kindness says a lot. What impressed me even more was that she went back out to the sales floor to retrieve an item I hadn't purchased yet because we thought it wasn't working. She tested it again, found that the cord actually did work, and saved me from buying something defective. That may have only been a $10 item, but she absolutely saved the day for me. Went last Sunday around 2pm and it was a good experience. Got this super cute planter and cup for under $2! The planter was exactly what I was looking for and the cup is perfect for my collection. Cashier was nice and I paid with cash and she had change! I feel like most places these days do not have exact change. They also accepted card and Apple Pay. Would definitely go back! read more

I hadn't been here in over 10 years and the prices have definitely increased! I absolutely LOVE the selection of clothing, housewares, shoes, and Knick knacks and organization of the store and you can get some good deals on the colors of the week but come early because I arrived around noon and most of those colors were gone. Next time I'll come early and see if I get a better bargain. I did get 40% the whole store for being a teacher so that's a plus! read more

Today I had a terrible experience with a woman named Sonia who laughed at me and told me I never seen you here after.... This came after I tried to explain that the swim suit cover I tried must have lost the price tag because I remember seeing it have one but after trying it on it wasn't there... I simply felt that she could have put the price tag on if it had been there and I said I come here all the time I wouldn't lie and she preceded to laugh. I like the options here and prices a re fair but staff is rude, ghetto and if you don't speak Spanish u will barely be able ti communicate. When I walked away she said something to me behind my back when I said I was going ti give her a bad review and since she is the face of this place she reflects the store. Unfriendly rude woman. I use to shop here several times per week and always walked out with a few items. I have been there several times in the past couple months and left with nothing. Prices have skyrocketed and I'm no longer finding good merchandise. Some items I could get new from Marshalls, TJMAX, or Ross for the same price or even less if it is on clearance. They lose big points when it comes to organization. The clothes are divided by mens and womens. And that's about it, with sections for coats and dresses. Other than that, you can't find anything by size or color either. I had my mom with me, and it made thrift shopping a lot more amusing. Among the horrible velvet pantsuits was...can it be? A reddish-brown, bomber-style, VINTAGE...Member's Only coat! Until this moment, I thought "vintage" was a marketing ploy. Only something people who worked in the fashion industry, and hipsters, understood. But it didn't fit. Not even close. Then I found a pair of Halston heels. Glittery gold. Size 10? DAMMIT. I ended up with a pink blazer (Target label) and a beige cardigan that looked kinda hipster-ish (JcPenney label) for less than $10. The housewares are pretty pathetic and reminds me of the junk you see on "Hoarders." Example: "I collect scarecrows so here's this old patchwork thing with dog blood on it." Overall, going into Community Thrift is like Battleship: total hit or miss. read more

Not really the place to find a ton of brand name clothes but you can find some cool stuff in here if you look. It's difficult to get more than a 3 stars for just your average run of the mill thrift store. With every single one, you pretty much get what you pay for...which isn't a whole lot. Every now and then, you can find a few choice gems, like I did here (hence the need to review). The store was clean, and they had an okay selection. I didn't feel too scummy walking through, which I've occasionally experienced at other resale/thrift stores. The staff was pretty nice, and relatively helpful. I found some of what I was looking for, at an awesome price. Two huge bags (which I found to be incredibly conveniently packaged) of silk ivy/flowers. One bag was full of ivy--$30 worth of ivy for $2? Yes please! The other bag had some ivy and some silk flowers (meh the flowers were hideous and unnecessary, but for $1.61, I was still getting more ivy than $2 at the dollar store.) Yay for my awesome find to make my Poison Ivy costume! read more

PREFACE: If I had reviewed this place 1-2 years ago, the review would have been as such..."Great deals and great finds! This place is truly a gem with great prices." CURRENT STATE: What a disappointment. Literally deemed, "The Secret Thrift Shop" by a friend of mine, I really touted this place for years. But it got worse and worse when it came to pricing. $30 for a blatantly fake Chanel bag? $20 for very used Jessica Simpson shoes? Give me a break. I thrift on the regular, and I'd much rather spend my time going to a place that prices used clothing like it should be. With the exception of REAL design items, I don't see the need for many clothing items being priced in the double digits. These are DONATED items. Charge less and you'll flip more! That being said - the store is huge. You're bound to find great items, just know it's priced high now. The shoes are a mess, thrown around everywhere, and the clothing doesn't have much organization in terms of sizing or colors. Housewares is about the same way - piles upon unorganized piles of picture frames and paintings stacked upon one another, so poorly placed that you're scared to go through them for fear of breaking something (though surely no one would notice). BESTS: There's a great selection of glassware and plates, and also wicker baskets. By far the very best part of this store (anymore, that is) is the seasonal part. I buy decorations in mass quantity every year from here. They are reasonably priced and have SO many to choose from. Seasonal items are the best decorations to buy at a thrift store, because you don't feel guilty if you recycle them back to another thrift store after a few uses! read more

This store is honestly my holy grail of thrift stores. The selection is so impressive that you are bound to find something you like/were looking for. I have never seen this much selection in any thrift store I have ever visited, and I have visited many many thrift stores. They run great sales very regularly, and they have a point system where you can earn $10 off your purchase! And earning enough points is very doable, I shop maybe once every month or two with them and I've been able to earn it twice now! I will always sing this store's praises. I have found some really impressive items here, from a unique coat in perfect condition, to lovely sweaters, cardigans, and sweatshirts, and you can find clothes to suit virtually any style/preference. The prices are very reasonable as well, occasionally they mark up brand names or items that are in higher demand, but if they can earn more profit off of those items, they should do so! We want this place to be around for a long, long time. It is pretty disorganized and can be kind of messy, but there is so much stock that it would be so hard to keep it all in nice order all the time. It is the trade off for having access to so many secondhand items!! My only complaint would be that the workers will often block entire sections of racks while stocking/restocking with big metal carts, which I completely understand is necessary, I just wish they could do it early in the morning or right before closing, when there are fewer people in the store. There are almost always quite a few customers in the store, so between trying to work around other customers and the employees it can get frustrating. But again, I understand why they must do this and it is not that much of a problem, just a minor annoyance. Nothing to deter me from shopping here, and don't let it deter you either! read more

This place used to be a regular spot for me. Their prices sky rocketed at some point. I rarely even stop here anymore.

My aunt used to take us to this place when I was younger. I remember always finding items that I wanted for no more than a couple dollars. But that was two decades ago. Today I stopped in because I had some time to kill. I found a pair of forever 21 boots listed at $14.75, bonus: the heel was busted in. Now, if I was to walk into forever 21 today I could probably find a similar pair of ankle boots for a similar or even a cheaper price. If on sale. It's crazy how two decades can make inflation go up 100%. This area is lower income and it feels exploitive of them to charge so high on used items. read more

I cannot believe their dress prices. My friend and I were so shocked. Every single dress was either $7 or $12 or $19... seriously? No one goes to a thrift store expecting to pay that kind of money. I would pay no more than $4 for a cotton dress that is pilling. The dresses there were not even that cute either and the prices were just ABSURD. I was seriously shocked. I used to go there ALL the time several years ago and I would buy endless amounts of clothes. It was a dream come true before and I even bought a vintage dresser there for $70 that was in great shape. Now though? Ugh. Now the prices are so ridiculously high. Why would they do that? For some reason it all stopped, so I called got two different responses, even went in personally and no one seems how to add me back on the text list - that's what I call it! We are business owners and were looking for our daughter some furniture and noticed the sign on the wall (I think it was a pink color that day for 50 0/0 off that day) I said look honey...this furniture is half off today.I think that is great.We took the furniture to the counter and it rang up full price I said the sign said this is half off today and the manager said to me...I am a female and business owner and not looking shabby and she said..I personally took all the signs down and I will have to go and look at the video because someone put the sign up we did not do it.I will have to make sure it was an employee and not a customer.She said this in front of all the customers and made me feel like a theif.I told her...please go look at the video.She came back and gave us the discount she did not seem too happy. First we have been going here for years. Each time prices get higher and quality of items are worse. They don't check for recalls or see if there items work. I just bought a highchair and forgot it there. I called today to ask if I could pick it up and they told me they sold it. What do you mean you sold it. People walk out with other people stuff all the time and I can give you store credit if you bring in receipt and I watch the security footage . Oh you watch it and ill bring the police with me because you steal. THen to top it off I bought baby gates with a musical part in it and GUESS what doesn't work oh so between the highchair for 12.21 and the gates for 19.91 they steal don't check items to even see if they work., CROOK CROOKS CROOKS. much better stores to go to why bother with this one. read more

When a business closes more than 15+ minutes before they're actual close time (as specified by their open/close times) on the FRONT door, it's truly and utterly pathetic not to mention completely unprofessional and inappropriate for a running and working business. I understand employees want to end their shift at the exact time before they close (so my concerns are with the management) did you really think that by locking the doors 15+ min. early you'd gain anything out of it for your business? For what you know, somebody could have walked in there during that time and bought hundreds of dollars worth of merchandise (even if it is a community thrift store!) So my opinion--along with the rest on this yelp thread--are to consider some other, more professionally and more responsibly run thrift stores. I hate businesses that close before they SPECIFICALLY STATED that they do. Like do you want your business to prosper? Or are you just there because YOU think you have a pathetically annoying job? Whatever it is, you've lost the respect of more than just one customer, and part of me tells myself that you really don't give two shits about it either. read more
