Communication Blooms is a pediatric speech and language therapy practice based in Lodi, California, dedicated to supporting each child’s unique communication journey. Our team of licensed speech-language pathologists provides individualized, neurodiversity-affirming therapy that honors each child’s strengths, interests, and communication style.
We take a child-led, play-based approach, creating meaningful connections through trust, engagement, and sensory-informed care. Our therapists specialize in working with Autistic children, Gestalt Language Processors, and AAC users, as well as children with apraxia, speech sound disorders, receptive and expressive language delays, Down syndrome, and orofacial myofunctional disorders. We also specialize in supporting infants with tongue ties, feeding difficulties, and oral disfunction.
Communication Blooms offers comprehensive evaluations, individualized therapy, augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) support, myofunctional therapy, and parent coaching. Our team includes therapists trained in PROMPT, Natural Language Acquisition (NLA), AAC implementation, feeding therapy, and myofunctional therapy, ensuring families receive thoughtful, evidence-based care tailored to their child’s needs.

Meet the Business Owner: Mackenzie S.
Mackenzie Shiba, M.S., CCC-SLP, CMT is the owner and founder of Communication Blooms Speech & Language Therapy in Lodi, California. She is a licensed speech-language pathologist and Certified Myofunctional Therapist who provides both speech-language and orofacial myofunctional therapy.
Mackenzie is passionate about supporting children in ways that honor their individual strengths and communication styles. Her clinical interests include AAC, Natural Language Acquisition (gestalt language processing), myofunctional therapy, and working with children with complex communication needs. She is PROMPT trained and experienced in supporting Autistic children and AAC users.
