i had mix feeling about putting my son in speech therapy but my husband wanted to before he started…read moreschool since he wasn't very much verbal at home. our son talk 2-3 work sentence here and there . my husband found this place online . we loved that they teach while kids play. we knew our son was a hands on child he doesn't like to sit still more than 5 mins so hands on teaching was a must for us. we gave it a try wasn't to sure if it was going to work since our son also wasn't good with other people than us at some point we thought maybe he was autistic but I'm glad i open up into give speech therapy a try and glad it was with them because thanks to mrs. Mackenzie my son is a different child he talks so much more and starts asking a lot of questions open into learning new things . he has even started to play with other kids and be around other people without yelling or crying. I'm still shock how much of a difference and progress he made in just 1 month. its mind blowing. i'm happy that my son has a voice now. the location is very clean and has plenty of activity for the kids to choose from to play. every time my son goes he tries new things which i never saw him do at home . while he plays Mrs. Mackenzie integrates new words and my son repeats it and through out the week he uses those words. I highly recommend it best place hands down. They are all nice, professional and very knowledgeable. I'm glad i listen to my husband to take my son to therapy and glad it was this place.

He was sent back to Mercy San Juan because of complications from the stroke. When we wanted him to return they refuse to have him back because he wouldn't participate. The fact is he couldn't because of his medical status at the time. One of the staff members my husband said dropped him he denied it the staff denied it. But my husband had a stroke that has affected his balance not his mental state. I wouldn't recommend this place to anybody the nurses were wonderful caring and loving the woman in charge of rehab if I could press charges I would.

When our child started with Lauren he had more than 20 sounds mapping to the "d" sound. It was frustrating for him, and disheartening for me when I couldn't understand him even when I was trying. Strangers were rarely able to understand him. Once he showed frustration, we sought out a speech therapist and I've felt so lucky that we found Lauren. Lauren's working style builds the kids up with steady scaffoldings of confidence and skills. She makes it fun for the kids and gives them an early life experience in pushing themselves to achieve their goals. My child was excited to see Lauren every week, and for the most part was excited to work with my wife and myself on his homework. His speech has improved so much. He's now understandable by everyone he interacts with. His confidence is greatly improved. I'm so thankful to get to hear his questions, ideas and contributions to conversation. When I arrived on my first day I was shocked at how run down this building is. The outside looks to be stuck in the 1960's and inside is super depressing: small windowless dark rooms that are run down. I walk through one physical therapy area to my speech therapists office and only saw one exercise equipment and a few treatment tables. The workers looked bored and not all are friendly with smiles or hellos. I quickly realized that my physical therapy (Golden Bear) is a five star resort! Bright open floor plan with a ton of exercise equipment in a clean and well kept building. Day and night difference. My speech therapist is just wonderful though! She is patient, kind, knowledgeable, helpful, and professional. She is helping me so much. I feel lucky to have her care. I feel bad that she works in such a run down environment. I try to ignore the ugly depressing environment. I would never come here for physical therapy. I'm sure the therapists are just as good as my speech therapist. I just don't think I could take the depressing environment. The environment is a one star, but my speech therapist is a five star. So that is why they get a three star review. Environment affects mood, feelings, wellbeing. I practically run out of there when I'm done.
