When my friends told…read moreme what was going on with their Mom and mind you it was a process; I knew I wanted them to tour your community. The daughters had struggled for Months and they were overwhelmed and exhausted. I said I have the community for you. They immediately said "NO STOCKTON". I said, okay but this community is different. I really want you to see a very special dedicated/stand alone Memory Care Community. I work in aging care in 5 counties throughout the Bay Area. Your community is in my top 5 and is my number one in San Joaquin county. My gut and heart said they will pick your community. I will add that you coming in on a Saturday and then again on Sunday to welcome them was above and beyond the call. I also believe that for you and what you do and represent, that coming in on a Saturday and again on a Sunday, is simply what you do. Leslie, I am beyond thrilled that my friends Mom is happy and that the daughters(and their Husbands) are really relieved and are so happy as well. The impact of what you did for them and the pictures they have sent showing Mom having fun and being so happy has a tremendous ripple affect throughout this family and I hope makes a difference to each person, I can share this story with. There is hope and joy in Memory Care and it is at Summerfield Memory Care of Stockton.

Her transition from independent living to assisted was very smooth. After settling in, mom was invited to join in on the daily planned activities where she quickly made many new friends. With open arms our family was welcomed with invitations to Family Events throughout the years. We also made new friends with other family members! When our grandchildren visited mom they made wonderful memories joining her in activities, games and getting to know the other residents. Mom received loving care in her last days. The med techs and caretakers went above and beyond, showing us respect and mutual concern for mom's comfort. I will be forever grateful for the entire staff, administration, med techs caretakers, activity, house keeping, janitorial and dining room. they should all know what a difference they've made in our family's life. I will be forever grateful.

Thank goodness for that as they are great at their jobs. Hopefully the new owners will approve some landscaping work and exterior painting to improve the appearance of the facility. We all have very high hopes and strong feelings about these types of places. Sadly, we also have…read moreto wrestle with our "guilt" that we are choosing to put a family member in one. I want to address both items. First, let me say that I have the utmost respect for people in this field of work. They have saved me a lot of grief over the years. My rating is based on the totality of the care and operations I have experienced with my elderly aunt who has been at Brookdale in Tracy for 6 years. She is still there and I am thankful. I vetted 7 facilities before deciding on this one. I chose it for location, cost, services, staff, and step care availability to dementia care. A special thank you to Christina, Lisette, Priya, Jamie, Marites, Chinny, and the front desk and housekeeping staff. Without you to deal with my aunt, I would be miserable. I thank you with all my heart, and I commend you on your patience with residents and family members alike! A few things I have learned: You must be prepared to understand this business and all of its good and challenging sides. There are varying levels of competence in every establishment. The behavior of each resident and family member and how they interact with the staff, caregivers, and each other is really out of your control, and even paying the closest of attention to every detail will not change the crazy stuff that happens in these "elder care" centers. These are like a geriatric fraternity or sorority houses. You can put your expectations out there very explicitly, and you can watch and participate. But these are human beings, so do not expect appropriate behavior from everyone all the time. You are going to get a microcosm of the human race in any of these places, so be ready. Ask yourself if your family member would be better off living with you. Most of us could not tolerate the challenges faced by these staff in facilities who care for our family members. In fact, their very existence is based on our own inability or unwillingness. I have no guilt about keeping my aunt in this facility. This facility is good; the staff truly cares about their role in the life of your loved one. They are attentive, responsible, trustworthy, and helpful. And you will pay for that care. But please know, they also have their human limits. They are dealing with dozens of our elderly relatives who have behavior problems. If we could handle having these elderly relatives (just one!) in our own homes, the by all means we should. But no one should be judged for making a decision for their life to place a relative in a facility if they cannot handle an elderly relative that might have dementia, other mental illness, hoarding, lack of hygiene, financial irresponsibility, etc. I wonder how it would look if every person in the world could receive a Yelp review for how they cared for their family members. I would not want that kind of scrutiny determining my fate. In 6 years, I have seen the staff completely turn over a few times, with a temporary revolving door of Executive Directors. The food has improved. The bill has doubled in 6 years. That's the world we live in. If you are going to consider assisted living for your relative, open up your eyes to the good aspects of this option, and do your research. Be careful not to expect perfection, it is nonexistent.

I wasn't sure whether or not to listen to the previous bad reviews but we really needed the help since my father could no longer take care of himself 100%. The caretakers were great help but I'm not sure why there are only 2 people expected to take care of over 60 residents?? We paid over $5000 monthly and it was not worth it. They tried to charge us for every single little thing and snuck charges in for things we did not approve. The director and other managerial staff seemed nice but I have witnessed on multiple occasions, upper management bullying their staff on the floor. Get a grip! This place is a scam and just wants your money. Please just get in home care like we are doing now. Save the money and the headache/heartache!

It is all about ensuring the best quality of life possible for their residents. There is constantly fun happy activities happening. When you first visit you get the feeling of this quaint little community and then you enter and are amazed at how much space the residents have to roam around. I love the outdoor area! It is so spacious and sprawling with wonderful things to do such as the raised planter boxes. Oh and did I mention the chef uses the freshest produce that comes from their very own farm/ranch?! Probably the most impressive thing about Willow Creek is the staff. They truly care about their residents. The longevity of the staff is far greater than many other communities which provides the much needed stability that Memory care residents need to thrive. The cherry on top of all the goodness of Willow Creek is that the cost is among the most affordable in the Bay Area. If you are looking into Memory Care communities for a loved one, I definitely suggest you consider Willow Creek.

My aunt and uncle are residents there and are treated like family by the staff, who know my aunt and uncle's quirks, moods, preferences, needs-- including the setting up of my aunt/uncle's weekly Zoom bible study. Staff gracefully indulge my aunt, who has a rather demanding personality at times. (I wish I were as patient as they are with her!) Unlike many other nursing homes, Oak Creek staff seemed to love their work, which they perform as a true vocation. The building sits under a canopy of trees, nestled against a forested hillside. Residents have access to a large patio area with a garden, an aviary with cooing mourning doves, and chickens, with many seating areas. The entranceway is always decorated very festively according to season, giving it a cheerful ambiance. Art, music, movies, meditation, crafts, exercise, and many other activities fill the day. My only complaint is that I would love to live there myself and be pampered as beautifully as my aunt and uncle are!
