Prior to signing up with All About Dogs, they took a ton of time answering my questions and allowing me to observe a class and talk with their trainers to make sure the class would be an appropriate fit for him. Most reactive dog classes would disqualify him because he is reactive to strangers, and that human reactivity is something we have found many trainers will not work with. I was, and remain, impressed by their thorough and honest assessments of each dog as an individual, their ability to see the potential in their students, and their celebration of every milestone reached along the way. Pam and Colleen also have worked with us individually to do a behavior assessment with my dog and determine his needs within and outside the classroom setting. We received an 8 page document from that assessment, full of straightforward and thoughtful insights, tips, and continued management strategies. The trainers are kind, compassionate, and never push my dog farther than he can go for the sake of seeing progress or immediate results, which has been critical to genuinely helping him get better. We consulted with several other trainers and did a few private sessions with others before finding All About Dogs, and my only wish is that I had found them sooner. My hope is that we will be able to continue making progress and eventually "graduate" from Rowdy Rovers to their Levels Training, and I do feel confident that with time and continued work, we will be able to. Dog Training is an unregulated field, and anyone can call themselves a trainer. The difference with All About Dogs is they have years and years of science based education and certifications to support their passion for helping dogs and their people. Both Pam and Colleen hold CPDT-KA certifications and all their methods are positive and force free. I am so grateful to have found them and look forward to continuing learning with them. Another interesting note is that both Pam and Colleen are regular presenters at the annual APDT (Association for Pet Dog Trainers) conference, a testament to their knowledge and experience in the field of dog training!

At first, I was very nervous about letting someone have Olly for this long. He would take off after everything and was very hard to control. But, they made sure to send pictures of Olly on his daily excursions. I would see him sitting at various stores and I was delighted to see he was doing so well. When we went to pick him up, I couldn't believe how much he had improved. His basic obedience was on point, like never before. He was also more polite in unexpected ways. He's a very vocal dog, and we noticed that while he spoke just as much, he was literally softer in volume, as if he now understood that he can be too loud. He stopped going into bathrooms and creating messes. Best of all, I was able to take him out into the world on a leash and prong collar, and we both enjoy it. I will admit, I am bad at keeping up with the training - which is why I decided to do this program in the first place. OIly is definitely not problem free, but he's way more of a delight to own and, if I do better with the training tips Mike and Jerri offered, then I'm sure I can get him back into shape in a week or so. But, truthfully, just the fact that I can now take him anywhere I want with me and have a pleasant experience made it worth the price and the 10 days of separation.

She was very kind and explained a mix up regarding emails with the owner. No big deal; these things happen. I appreciated her apology. She did inform me that they do not train in the kind of scent work I am looking for, and she sadly doesn't know anyone near my location who does. My only suggestion would be for the owner, since they are the ones who receive the emails. It might be best to respond to the customer in an email and state something to the effect of, "Colonial K9 has received your request and we will be forwarding your message to the respective trainer. Please let us know if a trainer has not gotten in contact with you in the next 48/72 hours." This way the customer knows their email has been seen and read. Otherwise, the customer feels their request wasn't taken seriously. Additionally, a reminder message or task could be created within the Microsoft 360 platform and be sent to the trainers. Just some ideas to help the customers and trainer so a customer isn't lost due to mistakes. Thank you again for the apology. It is appreciated. The owner will review the email and either respond personally, or the owner will send the email to the respective trainer. I thanked the person who I spoke with and promptly sent an email detailing my dog training needs. By 15MAY2024, I still hadn't received a response from Colonial K9. As a result, I sent another email and stated; "I am following up from my attached email as I have not received a response. If you are unable to help us, it's understandable. I would appreciate it if you could give us a referral on a trainer who can help." As of today, 24MAY2024, I have yet to receive a response. I am not sure where the disconnect is. All I want to do is find a solid trainer to continue with scent work training. I guess Colonial K9 isn't interested in assisting. Copy that!

However, after we had already left for our trip, we received a call saying that our new 6-month-old, 20-pound puppy would not come out of her crate. It felt like she wasn't given enough time to become comfortable with the new environment before the staff concluded that she would bite, even though she had never bitten anyone before. We were forced to turn around and pick her up, disrupting our travel plans. Because of this experience, we made other arrangements for her care and have not boarded her there again.

More than 3 no shows without any notification. We ordered a collar for training and were never given a new collar instead received a used "temporary" collar that was never replaced. My wife had set up a contract with Stephen while I was away on a deployment. He came once for a…read moreconsultation, and twice more as scheduled, but only to let our dog out and then leave ( i know this due to the security cameras in and around my house). When I called him and asked him why he was not training, he came up with some excuses about his van being broken into and not repaired. I gave him the benefit of the doubt. After another time of him coming and just letting the dog out and not training, we let him know we wanted a refund. He said fine and apologized, then just ghosted us completely. Still have yet to hear from him (not that I ever will). After this, I attempted to sue him for reimbursement. Due to his company being an LLC, I had to call to get info about his corporation. Apparently it was filed under some woman's name. I sent out letters and a summons to the address provided only to receive a returned letter stating the woman no longer lived there and had passed away. Clearly I am out of luck and have to chalk that $1200 up as a loss and a life lesson. DO NOT TAKE YOUR PETS HERE EVER.
