Most horrible experience ever. Commonwealth Dentistry took over my doctor's office, which was originally called Fabulous Dentistry. I have been a patient as well as my children since they were little. I always loved Dr. Pfab. I have not kept up with my annual cleaning, therefore, it has been about 10 years since I had a full cleaning. I would only go when I had issues. I was seen this July 2025, by Dr. Beltrami. I was told I needed all kinds of work done to a total of $13,000. I agreed to have this extensive work done, however, I was called and told that nothing will be completed until my check cleared. I was in the office for almost 5 hours. 8 AM until 1 PM. I had several teeth extracted, implants, crowns, bridges, a lot of work done. I left without any medication including antibiotics. On day two I called in excruciating pain, and I felt like something was not right. My face was beginning to feel hot on the right side. Dr. Beltrami did not ask to see me but called in an antibiotic and a pain med. Five days later... the right side of my face was swollen all the way up into my nasal cavity, my cheekbone, and I could not open my right eye all of the way. When I explained this to the receptionist, she came back to the phone and told me that that Dr. Beltrami said it was due to my anxiety. Again, did not ask to see me, with that being two times I called with issues since the surgery. The following night, I ended up in urgent care with the most horrible infection. The entire staff at the urgent care could not believe that he did not put me on an antibiotic prior to such extensive surgery. Once again that is two times that he refused and did not feel it necessary to see me. I finally told the receptionist I needed to come in and be seen and I asked to be seen by a different dentist. Dr. Beltrami was not there as he was on vacation in the islands. The Dentist I saw said the infection was so bad she could not touch anything on the right side of my mouth because of the inflammation and the infection,but she did take an x-ray. Dr. Beltrami left half of the entire root in my gum. He did not even extract it all. The root was causing all of the infection. The wonderful dentist that I saw that day gave me three days with a strong antibiotic and told me to come back so we could extract the root. After three days I went back and she went in to extract the root Dr Beltrami left in my gum, and she had to go in three more times in order to get it all out. It was excruciatingly painful, and it took a very long time. She also asked the hygienist at the beginning of my appoitment if she could see the x-ray that Dr. Beltrami took at the end of my surgery. Guess what?? There was never an x-ray taken at the end of my surgery. We are now in October, and I am still dealing with this. The negligence, lack of caring, and arrogance of this doctor is not only horrifying, but extremely unprofessional. I would be scared for anyone else I know to go and see him. It is also interesting how I was charged $13,000 for these procedures when upon checking with other area dentists....the cost would have been around 6k. I feel like I have not only been cheated out of my retirement money, (I used to pay for this) but I was butchered by a so called , well renowned dentist in the area. Please, if you decide to use this practice, please do not use Dr. Beltrami. I believe I deserve my money back 100 percent. read more

They deliberately don't subtotal their estimates so that you as the consumer when you see the last amount don't understand that is not the total cost to you. You should ask for a detailed care plan and cost for each step. BEWARE! Your end cost will end up much more than you are presented just due to the way they operate. read more

My daughter was a patient of the Ashland VA clinic until Commonwealth purchased the practice. We were initially informed that her secondary Medicaid would be honored until 7/1/24, but I was just informed that d/t credentialing issues that would no longer be the case. There are a significant number of residents of the Ashland area that must rely on Medicaid coverage, and this loss of service by a good practice is, to put it mildly, unfortunate. "Comprehensive & compassionate dentistry for the whole family" is what is advertised... just as long as a family member does not rely on Medicaid. "Changing Lives: One Smile At a Time" is their motto... just as long as you can afford the heavy out of pocket associated with dental work. Honoring one's word and demonstrating integrity in the mission/value statements of an organization mean something to the average consumer. Failure to do so, as in the case of Commonwealth Dentistry, demonstrates neither and underserves the stakeholders of the geographic area they seek to serve. We liked Ashland Family Dentistry until the buy-out; it is unfortunate that the new administration of the practice has lost our business, and perhaps, quite a few more clients. read more

These are the worst crooks ever!!! I strongly recommend getting a referral anywhere else if you are seeking or if you have an ongoing plan there. The one star is for the friendly staff. Beyond that, they will work out a plan to stretch out dental services and add on unnecessary components to ensure they get your money. They did not Bill my insurance appropriately after a few months of back and forth with the insurance company, asking why they operate so carelessly... Long story short, in the end they did not fix the billing. I dished out over $600 unnecessary dollars just to avoid possible collections and gave up the fight after wasting endless hours emailing, calling, and even sent a letter. I found, they attempted to stretch 4 appointments (w copays) out of 2. Which my new dentist scratched their heads on. I gave the real dentists my Commonwealth Dentistry records to review and we combed through the blatant ridiculousness that was a ploy to rob people. Some add ons that weren't even professionally advisable, I avoided. Get a second opinion from anywhere else!! Pay attention to billing practices that stretch your insurance dollars across purposely extended dates to leave you paying a lot out of pocket- I experienced surprise "uncovered" and some even "unbilled" charges. I was told by Commonwealth Dentistry that they are not responsible for all "billing" lol. . So I guess we all do the billing ourselves when we go in?? read more

I went in and explained my situation with life how I was going through a rough patch and instead of cleaning my teeth they examined them and gave me a bill of $12k for 3 root canals. They didn't even clean my teeth. When they first called they said they misspelled my last name so if we didn't fix it then i'd have to pay the full amount. Then I proceeded to see my last name on every single one of their mirrors. I went to a different dentist and was told I need 0 root canals after photos and tests and i just had to get one mayb 2 cavities but not a 3k root canal. Don't even waste your time coming here and go somewhere else. I waited to post this until I was 100 percent certain but this company is just trying to take advantage of you and rob you. Don't go. Go somewhere else. If you want to spend 50k here and have all fake teeth then go ahead but they are not looking out for their customers. They are just trying to make money. this company will make you feel like Luigi was right because they are NOT looking out for your best interest. read more

If I could give lower than a 1-star review I would. I go for cleanings every 6 months. I went the other week and they say I have pretty deep cavities. I asked to see the X-rays from 6 months ago and low and behold there were the same cavities except much less severe. 6 months ago they told me I had no cavities and my teeth were completely fine. I asked why they told me my teeth were fine when they clearly weren't and got no answer. So pissed. I don't know if it was incompetence or malicious, either way, these people are TERRIBLE. I had such a pleasant experience at commonwealth dentistry! I have terrible anxiety when it comes to the dentist and Wendy who was my hygienist did her best to make me feel safe and heard. After my examination by Dr.Rasul (who was also incredible; extremely professional, polite, and caring) I had a moment where I had a lot of anxiety come up and Wendy talked me through it and helped to ease my fears. She was amazing and I know I will have a team behind my back to get me through my cleaning and fillings that I have coming up, even with my anxiety. They are willing to work with me so I have the best experience possible. Thank you so much to this great team! read more

Kat! I will truly miss you HEART! I've been going here almost my entire adult life, but I haven't made an appointment since the pandemic. I had an appointment today to get back in the groove, and it was weird that the parking lot was packed with only 2 spaces open. Next, I see on the door that there is now a 3% surcharge for paying with a credit card. I mean, you have to spend money to make money, so would you rather give people the ability of using cards, or not have them as patients at all? Charge me money to pay you money? Kindly eat a bag. Next they have a table of drinks and cookies sitting there with some kind of sales pitch going on for Invisilign, so that's the crowded parking lot. My dentist office didn't survive the pandemic. It was replaced with some money grabbing, passing merchant fees onto patients, hokey advertising conference center facade of an office. read more

Seriously find a better place. Not only is it not very clean ( check the exam rooms that seem clean but just look around closely, it's dirty and dusty). Patient care is sub-standard. The manager is not quite sure of anything & they will change pricing on you while you're in the chair. I won't even get started on quality of care, just look elsewhere. read more

I'm really angry. I believe I saw Dr. Kreuzer - although I never saw her without her mask on. She took a cursory look at my mouth, took 2 xrays and said that she didn't see anything wrong with my tooth, that it was all TMJ related and referred me to a TMJ specialist. I went to MY OWN TMJ specialist (Dr. Gloria Ward, who is amazingly wonderfully fantastic) who, just from looking in my mouth (no x-rays had been taken at that time), found that I had a crack in my tooth almost big enough to fit her pick tool into. This crack was visible to the naked eye. Dr. Kreuzer should have seen it had she been paying any attention to me. So my visit to Commonwealth Dentistry was a complete waste of $113 and I just spent MORE money at ANOTHER dentist office - however my visit with Dr. Ward was money well spent. Bottom-line either Dr. Kreuzer was incompetent or, I feel more likely, as soon as they heard that I didn't have dental insurance they didn't want anything to do with me. Called to verify they accepted my insurance and the receptionist was very rude and condescending the entire time. She even hung up on me. Great way to run a business. I made sure to be polite and explain I found them on our insurances website and she just laughed and said it's not accurate. I mean that's why I called. It's a shame too because I heard the dentist her self is very good. read more

I could not be more pleased with the progress we have made on my treatment plan over the last several months. I went in for an exam because of a previous root canal at another dentist. My tooth had been breaking off and I was SUPER nervous! Dr.C is the BEST!! After my mouth became numb the extraction took less than 5 minutes. He and his staff were so friendly and patient with me! read more
