This place has really really gone down over the past 10 years. The new branch manager is terrible. My dad passed away and we brought the death certificate, power of attorney, will and trust. We let them know that we needed to put my dad's account in my mom's name and see what bills were taken out. The branch manager was rude and said the power of attorney dies when my dad died. She made a copy of death cert and POA. I told her my mom needed access to the account to see if there is money in the account or bills. The manager said if any money is in the account then it would go to the state/govt. I said, "F... no the money isn't going to the government, thats my moms money." Commonwealth made a threat to my mom saying that they could put a lien on my parents house even though my parents do not have a mortgage through Commonwealth. All these bullshit scare tactics. Definitely would not recommend this place and I will be closing my account that I've had there for over 30 years. read more

I was out of town and needed to pull money out. About 200$. Not a good place to use their ATM! They were only allowing me to pull out 60$ at a time and wanted to charge me 6$ for using their ATM. I'm allowed by my bank to pull out $500. That'd be a straight rip off. Smh. read more

You know a Credit Union is bad when Bank of America provides better services, interest rates, and a APR for loans. Twice I've been to CommonWealth Credit Union for a loan only to go through extra hoops and only to find out that they provide an APR rate 1% higher than Bank of America. Bank of America also provides better and prompt service compared to this place. It takes a long time to get someone to see you and the Banker loves to string you along. In addition their APR on their savings account were the exact same as BofA. read more

I love this bank.... I switched from Bank of America where I have banked my entire life to this credit union for my primary checking account and I love it... They offer better interest rates and checking account options then the big FDIC banks. This credit union also offers mobile bill pay on your smart phone, just ask the bankers about it when you start your account. On line banking is available to you as well, just make sure you get your member ID# so you can go on line and setup your on line banking. The minute you walk in your greeted with smiles and always ask if they can help you. It's great to see that there are banks out there that actually care about the customer. I see bankers going around and asking customer if they want water or anything else to make them feel at home while they wait. I came here to get a car loan to help build my credit and it was simple because the banker literally held my hand through the process and got me a great APR rate. Gabbi took care of majority of the transactions... I pretty much just picked the car out ...lol Gabbi is one of the young bankers that sits in the office right as you walk in on the right side .... She is very customer friendly and gets is meticulous to take care of you banking needs. I would like to say all the bankers in there are great everyone in there is always smiling and it makes the atmosphere very professional and customer friendly. It's great like knocking two birds down with one stone they like to say. I would recommend this bank to everyone in Morgan Hill or at least give them a try. piss poor customer service,. It's all for them of what they cannot do for a customer. I asked several times what CAN they do for me... We moved and the only reason we switched from Alliance Credit union to this place was closer. We are now going back to where customer service is top notch! ALLIANCE CREDIT UNION. We paid off a home equity acct. using a refi , NOT wanting to close all the way out because 4 more months will be the 3 years to leave it open w/o penalty. . They charged us $500 as they closed it. No phone call, no reading anything as to NOT close it.(yes it is on our paperwork) We are now receiving a letter from lender as to it was NOT to be closed. If a bank can't reverse charges as quickly as they take to take your money, run. If they think of what they cannot do for a customer, RUN. They are for self gain, manager has no authority to be a manager, too many loops to offer customer service. and this was with the bank manager! Welcome us back Alliance! read more

I'm happy with my service so far. Ladies Clerks are usually prompt and personable. They don't really rush you, they take good care of they're clients. No complaint's here but you may need to make an appointment to speak with some of the other associates that deal with other banking needs as I have noticed people waiting alot of the time to talk with someone and that person isn't around or working today. It's either they randomly slap a few charges on my account (not small ones either, $32!!!) not to mention if I want to transfer money it HAS to be on their terms when they can, and there's a limit on how many times I transfer from my phone, really?? That's ridiculous! What if I'm around people who I dont want to know I'm transferring money, if the bank is closed and I've used my "six transfers" I can't transfer money AT ALL. I bank with Golden 1 Credit Union and Commonwealth is a "shared" bank with them. I went to deposit a State of California check and had over half of it put on hold. Per my branch Golden 1, this is not supposed to happen. I was told to contact Commonwealth and request they release the funds. When I called the number for the MH Commonwealth I was directed to a call center where a very rude woman told me that there was nothing she could do as they don't have access to banking information. I asked for the direct number for the branch and they told me they don't take calls. I asked to speak to a supervisor and was transferred to Kimberly. I started out upset over the money hold and the rudeness of the call center operator but ended up very happy and impressed with Kimberly's professionalism. She went above and beyond to contact my bank and work out an immediate solution so I had access to my money. Thank you Kimberly for turning a bad situation into a positive one! read more

Had my car re-financed with CommonWealth. I should have made sure to read the fine print of their contract details. They required me to add them as a Lien Holder on the insurance policy and to let them know the change was processed within a certain period of time. I was unaware of this fine detail and the only way they communicated was via mail. Who reads their mail every day? In this day and age email and phone are top priority. Not only did I read the mail barely in time and submit my information within the 14-day period (mentioned in their rude letter), but then they went ahead and disregarded my proof of insurance and bought me temp insurance still. Charging me $195 for something I already have covered. THIS is sincere bull-shit CommonWealth. Get your shit together and treat your customers better. You better believe as soon as my loan is complete, I am ridding myself of your awful Credit Union and never speaking nicely of your services. read more

this review is for Erika Benitez at the Tennant location. i have worked with Erika multiple times and she has successfully and consistently delivered excellent member service. she is quick to respond to requests, she has a positive attitude, she offers relevant solutions and asks only for information that is required in order to move forward with the lending process. her demeanor is inviting, i feel welcome when i am submitting an application, both at times when my credit score has been low, and at other times when it has been high. she makes the process quick and easy, but still allows ample amount of response time on my end so i do not feel rushed. today, she received my request late in the afternoon and still funded my application before the end of business day. thank you for treating me with the professionalism and kindness that i feel we all deserve. great job Erika, if i could give you 10 stars, i would! read more

The service within the bank has been fine. I have rarely had good customer service when I have dealt with someone over the phone. The phone customer service representatives have told me on three occasions that something is resolved and I still have the problem. When I have to call a send time about the same problem the person on the other end sounds exasperated and, today, the person was snarky. Today I was buying a piece of furniture and my charge wasn't approved. I talked to three people, one who was transferring me and sent me to a phone tree that had no relationship to my problem. I called back and the second person said she lifted the hold put on her charge. She apparently didn't. The third person said she could correct hat and, although she could see that I had verified my identity earlier, said she needed my checking acct. number, which I couldn't remember. I finally went to an ATM and got the money for the purchase. That's it. I'm changing banks. read more
