As first time buyers, we had no idea what we were doing, and Mary explained everything clearly and patiently every step of the way - including through the COVID-19 crisis. Even after we closed she continued to stay in contact just to make sure the seller had taken care of everything we had asked them to do. We would happily work with her again and recommend her to anyone!

Mary was very professional and listened to what we really wanted, understood what was really important to us - and stayed on top of all the steps of the buying process and guide us as first time buyers. She helped in so many ways: from finding us a lawyer within a few minutes when we had an accepted offer - to designing many potential configuration and renovation plans. Mary was always trying to answer our questions, giving us advice and 'troubleshooting' any issues that came up during the search for our new home. When documents needed to received, Mary rushed them over herself; her commitment is unlike so many other brokers in NYC. Everyone who works with Mary will never forget her. She loves what she does and it shows. M&K

I literally signed up to Yelp just so I can share my experience with Dyphor…read more Every bad review you have read about them is true. My family and I didn't read the reviews prior to purchasing since we were just walking by and found them. The owner, Francesca, will gaslight you until you turn into an Exxon gas station. One of the rudest business owners I have ever dealt with. On Jan 1st - I ordered 4 dining chairs and 4 bar stools which equated to thousands of dollars that we paid upfront. The 4 dining chairs were in the showroom so we took that home right away. The 4 bar stools were going to be ordered and delivered from Indonesia and she said you will get them in late March or early April. I got my barstools the last week of July, four months later than promised. I am actually not upset that the stools were late. I was upset with the following: 1) The first time I called to get an update was in April. When I called, I was told they were shipping in 2 weeks. This was from an associate in the store 2) When I called in May, I was told they were delayed. This time Francesca got on the phone and went on a rant. - "There is Ramadan, so they are delayed in Indonesia. How can you not understand this?" - Meanwhile, I literally only asked why was the delivery was delayed. - Never mind that Ramadan was in March and that I had ordered these on January 1st and it was now May. - I had no idea why she was mad at me? I wasn't even upset on the phone. I was just asking where these multi-thousand dollar bar stools were - She then went on a rant and said "You have no respect for small businesses. We're a small business trying to survive" - For the life of me, I couldn't understand why she was ranting this to me. All I had asked was where are my bar stools. 3) I called in June and asked if there was an update - This time, Ahmed, her husband talked with me and said, we're really sorry that the shipment from Indonesia is delayed, it will come in 6 weeks. - And you know what, I said thank you for being honest, this is all I wanted to know. - Ahmed is actually a nice guy who is very fair to deal with. He was honest, he did not gaslight me and go on a rant as to why its absurd of me to ask where my barstools are after being several months late I am making this review so people understand what they are getting themselves into when dealing with Dyphor. They have cool stuff but Francesca's demeanor is not worth it. They will not follow up with you, they will gaslight you and you will wait way longer for your stuff than they say. What softened the blow of not having the barstools is back in Jan, they gave us 2 loaner stools to use, so I do appreciate that. It's ok if it takes a long time for things to get made, just be honest and don't treat people badly. They changed locations in Brooklyn so the other Yelp page is closed for them but you can find it in the link below. More reviews that are similar to mine - https://www.yelp.com/biz/dyphor-brooklyn

One project was a full transformation: kitchen, both bathrooms, and complete interior decorating. He brings a fresh style but also advised us to preserve elements of our home that were worth keeping. He continues to work with us to modernize our apartment while maintaining character. He customized our renovations to make our apartment into a wonderful home. From contracting management to design vision and finishing details, Buddy and his team handle everything seamlessly. Having one person oversee both the aesthetic and the execution makes the process incredibly smooth and cohesive. After more than two decades of working together, I can confidently say his experience, eye for design, and hands-on expertise truly set him apart. We have recommended him to many friends and recommend him to those reading this review. You will be delighted!

The 'before' shots would feature a cute home, but with signs of aging. Fraying wooden cabinets, and little to no natural light in my bedroom. Now this is all modernized, updated, and thoughtfully designed. Connecting with Buddy via Yelp's Request a Quote feature was lucky, because I got no replies from other businesses I contacted first or was told they couldn't take on my project. I'm thankful because Buddy was actually the right person with the right vision for my space. I had been living with a not optimized closet space and the aforementioned fraying wooden cabinets, as well as my bedroom lacking natural light for years. I had heard one too many contractor nightmare stories that caused me to be ultra cautious so I hesitated to contact anyone. I once hired a virtual interior designer which was a total waste of time/money. Enter Buddy, who is not only a creative visionary with a solid contractor team he's worked with for over a decade, but he's also a licensed therapist, and says that contributes to how he handles spaces, which totally makes sense. In the first consultation with Buddy, he paced around my space and rattled off so many wild ideas, some of which sounded fantastical and unrealistic but he made into reality. The initial consultation fee initially made me wince but now sounds like such a deal when in hindsight I realize he gave me the blueprint to my beautiful new reality. I would not have thought to float my couch in the middle of the living room instead of against the wall, facing the best feature of my apartment-- the view. When I was concerned about where to put the TV, he came up with a customized solution. A mechanized wooden box where the TV rises and falls with the push of a button. It sounds so futuristic but now it's part of my life. His contractor team is so awesome too. They handled all my things with care, and not only did they not disturb my plants, which we kept in the apartment during the renovation, they took care of them too! So sweet. It's been several months now and living in my transformed space has really changed my relationship with my home. My living situation used to feel compromised, but now it really feels like a thoughtful expression of who I am. I've already hosted several parties and get togethers in my home, because the new space is way more amenable to hosting, something Buddy picked up about me after meeting. Buddy's organization (we worked out of a spreadsheet which was a dream for my Type A self), and responsiveness throughout the process really eased my nerves about the project. He and his team took genuine care of my possessions and space that it made the renovation process almost enjoyable. Thank you Buddy, for transforming the daily experience of being in my space. You really delivered something exceptional.

We are in San Francisco Bay Area, so we worked remotely through weekly design sessions on zoom and used a 3D model to brainstorm ideas. She made recommendations for what to look for at the store and what to ask the contractors, and helped me refine which options to go with. Unlike some of the designers I met before, who always try to educate me about what is good and bad, Erin always tries to understand what I like and want first, and then help me search for the best options for my home. With her I feel totally safe about sharing what I really think, any ideas and concerns. And the most important thing is, she has such a great taste and extremely professional in design. Before working with her, I never know there are so many details need to pay attention to, and how different colors can have such a big impact on the whole look. And she can always come up with great ideas and solutions based on different situations and totally save my life during this project. I am so thankful to have Erin as a consultant on my remodel and I have learnt so much from her. It has been a great experience and I can't thank her enough!
