These guys know that "going to the bank" can be a complete chore. That's why they pretty much dedicate their jobs to be the absolute most friendly and happy bankers you'll ever experience.
Every time I go there, the bank tellers ask me how my date went while processing my money. Quick, efficient, and the friendly conversation didn't delay me at all. Do the employees at Commonwealth Bank go through a social etiquette course in their training or something? From the excellent phone conversations to the well-groomed and friendly tellers, I'm starting to think that there's a giant conspiracy - Commonwealth Bank overloads their customers with kindness so we will flock to them instead of shitty banks such as Westpac.
As a former Westpac-customer turned Commonwealth, it's working.
Essentially, be prepared for ultra-friendly service. Maybe going to the bank doesn't need to be such a huge chore after all!
