As a first timer, I was driving near here and figured I'd stop in for an iced tea. They make them cold or hot and the peach ginger tea I had was very good. I absolutely love the vibe of this place -- it has a true café vibe and when I walked in on a Saturday morning, there was a musician playing an acoustic guitar. So cool. They have food, coffee, and a few pastries here. Plenty of seating at tables or on couches. Everyone kept ordering the apple pie stuffed French toast when I was there. The food looked so good -- will definitely return for breakfast with a friend sometime soon. Service was fantastic -- the hot tattooed guy behind the counter was super friendly and started genuine conversations with his customers. I was impressed. I went to Common Grounds to do a little writing and have an early lunch today. The barista was so nice, the coffee was delicious, and the chicken, avocado, and bacon sandwich was generous and delicious! Lots of good places to sit and relax, talk with friends, and work if you need to. Food was delivered fairly quickly, too! Just a quick note: the parking lot is pretty small, so just be careful backing out. read more

Looked like an amazing place, but... The crepes were a little overdone, and didn't have enough fruit. On top of that, the one waitress seemed like she was pretty new to the coffeehouse. I felt very uncomfortable as an out-of-towner, But the locals all seemed like they were welcomed. This is definitely a local spot, not a touristy destination. Really amazing service, not to mention great food. Workers create a nice environment, not long waits at all, prices matches quality of food and service! The girls were so nice and make a hell of a coffee! I recommend their cold brew, they don't water down their iced coffees with ice cubes, instead they make COFFEE cubes (from experience that's a lot of work to do)- goes to show they go above and beyond to ensure customer satisfaction. I heard about this place through an acquaintance and decided to give it a try on my way to work. I called ahead after reading that the reviews said there was slow service. When I called.. The woman who answered was kind and helpful. Pros: Kind staff Easily substituted an option on my sandwich Surprise fruit not expected with sandwich Food ready when I arrived. Cons: Latte not full Heated only to 140 degrees which was surprising, and lukewarm at best prior to drinking it when I got to work (18 mins later). I did not ask for a specific temperature, but usually run into 155 at other establishments. Sandwich barely warm.. Could be because of the drive, but it may have been made too early since I called ahead. Baked goods in case need better presentation.. In colored Tupperware that make it so you cannot see what's in them. Updated menu not on their Facebook page. (Included in photos of this review) I would give it a go for lunch when I had time to sit and drink my coffee there and eat my sandwich right away. I'll leave the decision whether you think the meal in the photos is worth $10 and change. read more

I am a big fan of local businesses and I want to love this coffee house. The coffee is great and I had a sandwich I really enjoyed. I don't like to leave negative remarks but after 4 or 5 attempts, I offer constructive criticism. It takes a really long time to get an order out, most likely because there is a child working the register. I have to repeat everything at least twice, the order is often wrong, the order is then confirmed by a third person, and the little girl cannot make change. I get it and I always tip her well. Of course she's cute, she means well, and she's helping out her parents or whomever, but these are not decent excuses for the same mistakes over and over. In the beginning, I thought this would correct itself, but it has not. Please, treat a business like a business. I am in a hurry in the morning and all this makes me think twice about stopping in. read more

This little shop opened up right around the corner from us, while we were out of town, and figured we would check it out. I figured I would get there eventually until my wife told me they had a Reuben sandwich on their menu. Well, my mind was made up, and I had to try it..... today. Now, before you read any further, keep in mind, this is a small, local business and not some chain or larger deli shop. Walked in and was greeted warmly by staff. They haven't fully opened, so the menu is limited, but I really wanted that Reuben though. I was in luck, as they had sold out of it every day prior that week. The coffee menu is about what you would expect as far as selection goes. I'm a cold brew fan, so I went with one of those. They had a few pastries as well. I got the order to go, as I had to take a 2nd fill of cold brew home to the wife. If you want to hang out, there is a nice comfy seating area with 3 leather chairs and a small table, as well as a few other tables and a counter area in front of the window. So, got home and took a taste of the cold brew. Compared to the larger chains that sell cold brew, this one has them beat. I got mine with skim and 2 Splenda, however you could probably drink it without anything. It was so smooth and the ice cubes........yes, they were made from the cold brew as well (not all, but about 3/4 of the ice was the coffee ones). So delicious, I'm 1/2 tempted to walk over and get another one now. So, on to the Reuben. Now, my expectations of size were met properly. I was not expecting some ginormous sandwich you would get from a chain with week old corned beef. It was a little smaller than you would get in a deli, but not small enough that it didn't fill me. The corned beef is sliced fresh daily. The sauerkraut was the perfect amount of tartness to offset the sweeter taste of the 1000 Island Dressing. The bread, seeded rye, was also fantastic. They have a few other things on their menu for now, so I would check out their Facebook page as those will be changing, but for now.....I suggest the Reuben. I'm also certain both my wife and I will be getting our morning cold brew fix regularly from here, rather than the chains. read more

Between the dates of January 23 and 27, 2018, my Girl and I ate an early lunch at this establishment. Parking wasn't the easiest or safest due to the fact that the street the restaurant is on, Union Street, is a busy street at any time of the day. Once inside the establishment we were greeted by a friendly staff and a nice atmosphere. The establishment had good music playing and was very clean. Our order consisted of two breakfast sandwiches, coffee, and a matcha tea. We requested that our meals be taken to go and that one of the breakfast sandwiches would not have cheese on it. Our drinks arrived at the table first. The coffee I had ordered was perfect. The taste was strong and the temperature wasn't scolding hot. The matcha tea on the other hand, was only filled half way but, the taste was good. We sat waiting for our breakfast sandwiches for close to twenty minutes before they arrived. The sandwiches only consisted of two pieces of toast, bacon, egg, and slices of tomato (the tomatoes were not advertised on the menu). We just decided we would just eat our meal there. Upon further inspection of the sandwiches, they both were equipped cheese. The taste of the sandwiches was pleasant, but we couldn't understand why it took so long to fry two eggs, make two pieces of toast, and microwave some bacon, might I add there was only one other couple in the business who were already eating food. Overall, I give this establishment barely 3 stars due to the fact that simple instructions could not be followed. I would go to this establishment again, but the revisit value would be small. I would recommend this establishment to others. read more
