Gas stations tend to find a string of things and you never escape them or their low standards of servicemanship. Gus & his family's service station is the stellar exception. He has saved me thousands of dollars through the years all the while keeping our vehicles running in top form. If something is beyond his scope of service - such as requires special tools specific to your vehicle that only a dealer has - he'll tell you. He'll also tell you about common problems, fixes or things you can ignore from the things he's encountered with the vehicle you own. Good luck getting that type of information from a dealer's shop or one of the many gas stations that can't keep a mechanic longer than 3 months. This approach allows you to make choices about how best to handle your vehicle's maintenance - fix, defer, go to the dealer, ignore, sell. As an example of his commitment to satisfied customers - the one time - out of many, many times - I questioned if something 'was completely fixed' because I heard an unusual noise after picking up the vehicle - he pulled a vehicle out of his bay, took my vehicle right back in and reinspected it on the spot - together we found that it was just a bit of rust on a brake drum which was not the repair he'd been asked to do - but he removed it anyway - without charge. Thereafter, the car ran like a top. He is not cheap, you don't want cheap when it comes to something you ride in at express way speeds, but his rates are extremely good and he is fair. His work is thorough, well done and reliable. If he does some work, there will, as it should be, be a charge. However, if it is something that takes just a few minutes, he'll often give you a pass. Unlike dealers that charge you an appointment fee and then increments of hours. Over the years I have come to trust Gus and his family through my experiences with them. If I moved but still remained in the area - I would continue to bring Gus my business. When people ask me "where do I bring my car"? I give them just one person to call, Gus and his family. Horrible Shop I don't recommend…read more Went in for an estimate a while back ago that they tried to charge me an arm and leg for doing a rinse on my engine that I did not ask for. Ended up having to call the cops after an extremely rude and demeaning interaction with the workers towards not only me but my parents as well. It took an hour of arguing with them, cops took 2 minutes to talk to them before they walked out with my keys. Vince was misleading. I got my car back with no charge because I didn't sign anything.

Stay away. They OVERCHARGE and do the job badly. They put the wrong drive shaft bracket on our…read moretruck, so there was a lot of play in the drive shaft, causing a major vibration through the whole vehicle. They also put on 8 after market, poor quality cab mounts between the frame, making the whole cab feel like you were riding on metal. When we brought it back because of the vibration, they did a full inspection and couldn't figure out where it was coming from, even though it was their fault and charged us more. We spent at least $10,000 for motor work, the drive shaft, etc! $6,800 of that went to bullet proofing the engine (which means there will be no more leaks). The truck had to go back MULTIPLE times because it wouldn't stop leaking. J told me the engine would still have problems even after they finished their work. After paying $6,800 to "bullet proof" an engine, there should be no more problems! They also put in a steering wheel box and didn't tighten down the adjuster nut, so while my boyfriend was driving, he was having to turn the wheel to the right and left, 12 inches each time, just to keep the vehicle straight. He had to drive like that for 13 hours. Even worse, when we got the truck back after many of their "repairs", they returned it with a broken tail light, dented hood and dented quarter panel. So unprofessional! They held on to our truck for months and this is how they returned it to us. While this might be an easy stop for a lot of people that are local, I recommend you skip it and go to a qualified mechanic. Don't say I didn't warn you.

In the last couple months it now has new owners. I thought to give them a shot since I really loved this place before. I think it may go by a new name now? Not quite sure, but the location is the same. I wanted to love it but the prices have skyrocketed. It cost close to $80 for a standard oil change. I couldn't believe it - I felt taken advantage of and hoodwinked. One of the mechanics from the old operation still works there and he was very nice but unfortunately I will not be back.
