From the mundane (shower towel rack down -- because they improperly turned the unit), to roach eggs hatching in the refrigerator, to a clogged toilet, to chewed up bedroom blinds with animal urine on them (all from improperly turning the unit between guests) -- just, overall, poor attention to detail and i've lived in my unit less than 60 days. I ended up buying the products to kill the roaches myself, and paying Roto-Rooter to unclog the toilet. The office staff was wonderful about reimbursement, but then they transferred ownership and now the new office staff is giving me pushback about adding the $715 reimbursement to my community ledger. The money, albeit a thorn in my side, is secondary; the real issue is lack of attention to detail breeds frustration within the community, so now, the residents have an entitled, angry disposition. I mean, the first clue your community is angry is throwing garbage bags on the side of the dumpsters instead of inside, almost like they're begging the maintenance team to do ... something. I, myself, before paying for a plumber out of my own pocket, was constipated which distracted me greatly from work. I missed a deadline and was LIVID because my toilets BOTH broke after the maintenance team said nothing was wrong with them, when in actuality on one toilet, the handle broke off and on the other, it was clogged with debris, poo paper, and a shower curtain hook all from the previous tenant -- because again, they improperly turned the unit. It's a shame, because the community is beautiful! Big spacious units, romantic views, etc. it's just one bad apple ruins a bunch. The office staff were great. The maintenance staff wasted my time. They all work for Cushman & Wakefield, which means they all wasted my time. And it should be noted, one of the men on staff locked me out of the pool, pretended to not understand English, and would not give me an explanation as to when the pool area would be reopened. As an African American woman, I was extremely embarrassed at his attempt to "Dorothy Dandridge" me. He also glared at me with murderous contempt one day while I was in the office waiting in line. Now, I have 4 months left on a 6 month lease, which is paid in full, and I just want out. I feel devalued by the experience.
