This review is long overdue- I have been ordering flowers from Commerce Flowers for years now! They have the best prices and most beautiful flower arrangements. I usually place my order over the phone and the workers are always so polite, professional and helpful. I've spoke to the owners as well and they are great people. I usually just tell them what I have in mind and they go above and never disappoint. When my father passed away, the funeral home was trying to charge $500 for the flowers that go on top of the casket and $500 for a standing spray. Seriously?! I had seen some of their work & the flowers never looked fresh and were skimpy. I called Commerce Flowers and ordered the arrangement for the top of the casket, and 2 standing sprays and my total was around $370. They delivered all the way to Cypress for a small fee and the flowers were beautiful. I am so utterly impressed and happy with my decision to go with Commerce Flowers! I am not a huge flowers girl but I knew I needed some for my wedding. I had a pretty clear budget in mind and Duke helped me work within my budget and was so easy to communicate with. He understands that there are certain essentials to a wedding and certain things you might be able to allocate a little less to. I was not tied to any particular flowers -- but gave him my theme and some sample photos. Got my wedding flowers here. They have really good pricing. The prices here are about half what other places were charging. Not sure how they can pull that off. They have a good selection. We worked with Duke who is a very nice older man. He looks local (from Hawaii), but isn't. Some notes: - What he scribbles on his paper during your initial meeting will end up being your quote. Make sure you can read it. - Bring inspirational photos. I brought a few - one in particular that I really liked. - Shop is not pretty looking, but everyone inside it is very nice and friendly. - Large parrot will squawk the entire time. - He'll give you a small discount if you pay cash. - There's a Lee's Sandwich across the street, so Westsiders take advantage of it!! I'm not a very picky bride. A few weeks after the initial meeting, I went to the shop for a sample meeting. Duke put together a centerpiece and a bridesmaid bouquet. I liked it but honestly didn't love it. But, I'm not picky and I was completely drained of effort at that point in the planning process. My planner assured me it was beautiful, so I was fine with it. Then, on the day of, the flowers arrived and it was PERFECT! It looked exactly like my one inspirational photo that I loved! Couldn't have been happier with what Duke put together! I would love to give 4.5 stars if I could.... This flower shop was on my venue's recommendation list so I met up with Eddie several times and decided to go with them. Eddie was very different from all the other florists. He understood that most brides have no idea what kind of flowers they want. Also, he knew that budgeting for flowers is something that's foreign to most of us. This flower shop is very close to Citadel outlet mall. The shop is HUGE and it is a family run business. I think Eddie said he is 3rd generation Japanese American. We started off our consultation with a discussion about Misora Hibari, the singer haha* Anyway, Eddie was able to show me the choices of flowers, vase, pillars, everything we needed and the estimate in writing. The amazing part about this place is that they will provide you with the samples of their work according to what you want before you sign the contract!!! My sample bouquet and center piece was ready the next week for pick up. Eddie told me that there is no hard feelings if we decided to go with someone else...he is a wonderful and very generous man! PLEASE NOTE THAT THE FOLLOWING WAS NOT A SET PRICE...your total will depends on the kind of flowers, season, etc. We paid around $1,500 for the following: - Sample bridal bouquet and center piece (FREE) - Bride bouquet - Toss bouquet - 4 bridesmaids bouquets - Groom's boutonniere - 4 groomsmen's boutonniere - 2 mother's corsages - 2 father's boutonniere - 10 centerpieces - Sweet heart decoration - Cake table decoration - Cake decoration - Guest book decoration - Isle decoration pieces x 4 - Isle petals - Ceremony huge decoration pieces x 2 - Pillar rental x 2 - Vase rental x 10 - Delivery - Transfer of the flower pieces from ceremony to reception - Vases and pillars pickup at the end On the wedding day, they delivered the personal flowers for the photo session around 30min before the promised time. There were minor issues that did bother me a little bit. We ordered roses to present to our parents but never received them. Since the DJ already had the presentation in his planner, we had to use the gift table flowers. Also, the pillars for the ceremony was painted the wrong color. We specified cream but it was dark brown. I think Eddie probably thought that the pillars should match the center piece vases. There were few other things but not worth mentioning I think. Overall, Eddie was wonderful and I really appreciate all of his kindness and talent. * Price: Very reasonable for what you get! Duke and his staff are truly experienced florists. I grew up with a flowershop and my mom has since retired and did not have the energy to do my wedding flowers so we came to commerce flowers. They are truly knowledgeable and experienced at creating beautiful centerpieces, bouquets and working with you to make your day special. The flowers they use can not be any fresher, they know how to handle them, to create the best look. All the blooms were perfect. They will try their best to work with your budget and create the look you want. I was a bit worried when the orders were hand written on a notepad and some requests were given over the phone like a verbal agreements that was not confirmed in an email per say made it a bit worrisome but overall they did a great job. I know they are trying but some consultations are easier written and sketched out, but then to maybe digitize it would be very helpful in this day and age. I think i had too many small requests here and there and some details were lost, but it still looked fantastic and i will overlook it for the price and quality of the flowers and just the easiness of working with them...but If you do want to make sure of all the small details are picked up then you will have to really express and let them know or like one reviewer said it does get forgotten. My hiccup was, when they made my mockup they tried there best to put together what I wanted with what they had and then I had said I wanted yellow roses but it came out to be peach like the one mocked up...the colors were slightly off but they still looked good so it was what it was...what can you do? None of the guest knew there was anything wrong and said that the wedding flowers were beautiful so i am glad. This place came highly recommended on the bridal message boards and so we just had to make it as one our wedding vendors to check out while shopping for a florist. They are no fuss kind of floral shop. But, if you provide them pictures of what you are looking for, they are able to closely match what you like. They do give you alot for what you pay for. My all white peony bouquet was huge and my bridemaids bouquet were nothing but skimped on. Our centerpieces were full of flowers. Every space in the vase was taken up. Eddie, who did our flowers was a pleasure to work with. One of the pillars that was used in our ceremony cracked while being transported, and Eddie was kind enough to let us not pay for it as he said it happens all the time to those things. If you are looking for a florist that will give you a HUGE BANG for your buck, seek Commerce flowers and ask for Eddie. You won't be disappointed. We recently got married and on a recommendation, used City of Commerce Flowers. We were thrilled with the consultations we had with them - not really knowing what we wanted or needed, they guided us towards the most beautiful arrangements we could have ever asked for. They stayed to move the flowers from the ceremony into the reception and everything was beautiful. I could not have been happier. Two things prevent me from giving them more stars: 1. I could not find my "toss bouquet". It could very well have been there, but no one was told where it was and I ended up having to sacrifice a bridesmaid bouquet for the toss. (My own bouquet was far too elaborate to use.) 2. This is huge. So huge. If you use this establishment, please make sure to tell every guest not to take the stands for the centerpieces. Not because they'll charge you $50 for each one unreturned (which was apparently 7 in our case, though we have no way to tell) but because they have absolutely no boundaries in trying to retrieve them. ON THE DAY AFTER OUR WEDDING, MERELY HOURS AFTER WE WENT TO BED, THEY PROCEEDED TO CALL US NON-STOP BEFORE 6AM. 5:49AM, 5:50AM, 5:52AM, 5:54AM TO BE EXACT. BEFORE 6AM ON THE DAY AFTER OUR WEDDING! I can't imagine that our guests are the first to walk away with centerpiece stands so they had to know what likely happened. They couldn't wait until a decent hour? The next business day? Beyond ridiculous. Only calls from jail or the hospital are that important - and even then, would you really be calling the bride and groom?? C'mon! We ended up just paying for the stands so as not to have to deal with it because other than having no respect for us following the wedding, they did a great job. UPDATE: They are now threatening to charge us more for the unreturned stands and are demanding their reappearance within a week. They are blaming their vendor for being so obnoxious. Uh, why are you doing business with them then? Now I have to call my guests like some cheap schmuck because I have no idea how much this could potentially cost. read more

His daughter designs the most gorgeous bouquets and floral designs I've ever seen. I went to Duke about 10 months ago and this place is packed even with an appointment, but for any potential bride, patience is key because it will ALL pay off. Trust me when I say I am the most anal of brides, but I felt completely at ease with Duke. Although I bought my own vases to decorate myself, Duke was gracious enough to provide me with additional vases to change the look a little with no additional costs. Duke put my ideas together and by the first meeting, we already came up with a game plan. He quickly came up with a quote to work with my small budget. And boy was I surprised at how accommodating this place is. It really is the truth when they tell you that they want to do whatever they can to make your dream wedding a success. I had a small budget but I was blown away by the cake decorations, centerpieces, and most of all, all the bouquets and boutonnieres yesterday on my wedding day. Duke and his staff came early to the venue (10am) and stayed till everything was done. I couldn't believe how beautiful my room looked. I was nearly in tears when I saw how the floral transformed my reception room. Each Orchid that he placed on my guests' napkins was so elegant. I would recommend them over and over again. The flowers were delivered yesterday to my mother, just today I visited her to hug her & I found my mom trying to figure out what to do with flowers that were already dying! Plus the arrangement didn't seem to have the amount of flowers that I paid for. I knew that the arrangement that I bought was not going to be exact, the flower shop called me to tell me. But I ordered the so called "premium" arrangement, I even paid more because they'll add more flowers. They truly added more leaves & flowers that did not last 2 days. I'm very disappointed.
