Just popping back on here to give more praise to Yosef - I was surprised to read a negative review that actually contradicts what I was jumping on here to acknowledge Yosef and his wife for -- I wrote a review about 6 months ago when I bought some trees from Organic Fruit Tree LA - they've all taken to their new home nicely as I followed Yosef's watering instructions. :) Since then, I reached out to him to see if he could come by and do some pruning of my existing trees (I have 14 fruit trees total) as well as to check in on/fertilize the new ones I had purchased from him. He was totally upfront with the pricing and was prompt in scheduling a pruning appointment over the weekend. He and his wife Claudia stayed for about 2.5 hours cleaning off all my trees, cutting back where I requested and fertilizing all the newer trees. They were neat and tidy and used my organic green bins to put all the discard and even left a small pile that didn't fit -- cutting down the bigger pieces so I could easily move them over after trash day. My yard was left in impeccable shape and all my trees are happy and thriving. Tip from Yosef: for anyone curious regarding a pruning schedule for your fruit trees -- it's good to do one pruning/fertilization at the end of January-mid February and again in June; just twice a year! This man really knows how to grow wonderful trees! My dad was a farmer, and he used to grow a few fruit trees in our yard. He always tried grafting various varieties to make new great tasting fruit. Yosef is the first person I've met whose skill compares to that of my father. A few years ago, I bought a lime tree from Yosef. This nursery is located in a residential area in back of a black gated house but the backyard has so many fruits trees ranging from mangos, apples, avocados, lemons, peaches, guavas, grapefruits, pomegranates to even exotic/tropical fruits like longans, cherimoyas , soursops, figs etc. I was amazed at the different variety of trees that Joseph offered and he was super friendly and informative as well. Great place with a lot of organic fruit trees! I loved it. I got avocado, guava, grapefruit, pomegranate, white fig and Kalamata olive and I wish I had gotten more, but I didn't have more space in my car. I'll go back. They have mango, papaya and a lot more! The other review said is cash only but I pay with my Amex card because the husband was there with the square app on his phone. I paid around $45 per tree and I live in a zone 9b and they seem to be doing very well with the hot weather. I highly recommend this company and its owner, Yosef, if 1) you are looking for special fruit trees, 2) you need your fruit trees expertly pruned or tended, or 3) you want a fruit tree grafted. When my father passed away last year at age 98, it was hard to say goodbye to him, to our family home, and to the prolific fruit trees he had tended for 70 years, I got the idea to see if someone could graft sections of two of his trees to new saplings. An arborist I contacted HIGHLY recommended Yosef, and he was 100% right. Yosef has been wonderful. We hired him and he not only grafted cuttings onto existing young fruit trees he had, he tended them for us for many many months to make sure they were going to survive. Not all did, but we ended up with enough for everyone in the family to have one! This place is great! I called ahead to ask if they had a pomegranate tree & they did. So I found parking on the street and met the owner in front. I recommend calling before because it's a residential area and you don't want to get lost or waste time. All of the items are in the backyard and it's much bigger than I imagined!
