It's a cute mom & pop shop where they service three types of dishes daily. Noemi (cook & owner) has different dishes every day but no set menu. She's really sweet. She said will always include chicken on the menu. She also makes Cuban sandwiches during the week & can do pick up orders. I absolutely loved the vanilla flan was amazing!!! You could tell it was homemade. The chicken was falling off the bone, literally. I really appreciated that because it's a stew & well I feel like that's just how meat should be. The tostones were 100% the perfect addition to the dish. I'm extremely excited to try Noemi's Cuban sandwiches. read more

Wanted something different for lunch, so I decided to try this place. It's a small little restaurant on the corner, in not the nicest part of town. I was a little worried at first because I didn't know what to expect, but as soon as I walked inside I was relieved to discover that it was CLEAN. You can tell it is family owned by people who take pride in their business. The young lady who greeted me was very nice and answered all the questions I had about the menu. I wanted to eat some tostones rellenos but didn't see any on the menu. They said they could make them for me anyway. I was very pleased with the food, the hospitality and service. The funny part about this is that I haven't found a better Cuban restaurant outside of Laredo, Texas. Go figure! It is by far the best priced, best service, and besting Cuban restaurant ever...at least in my opinion. I've been Cuban restaurants in Miami, Atlanta, and New York...no dice...and the flavor isn't even close to this diamond in the rough. Legit Cuban food in Laredo. I was born and raised in Miami, and can say that the tostones, moros, and masitas de puerco are spot on. The reason for the four stars (instead of 5) is because of the limited menu. Also, no vaca frita on the menu (the owner says she used to have it on the menu, but it didn't sell...so I get it, but I love me some fried cow). My go to place when I travel to Laredo. Makes me feel like home; and that is Puerto Rico. The food has an awesome, authentic taste that is great. Roasted pork, chuletas, black beans, Cuban sandwich, chicken stew and more. So good, so tasty! My 5 star rating is just for the food. This is a surprising find, I am so glad we came here. The food was delicious. Limited selection, but it is because they prepare the meals fresh. I actually prefer that over a huge menu of food that sits in a refrigerator. Got the Masitas de Puerco with arroz Moro and maduros and my wife had the Ropa Vieja with white rice and tostones. Great Cuban food. Congri con platanos maduros y bistec. Definitely coming back again. Does not open on Monday's.

The small restaurant is friendly and comfortable. The food was amazing. I tried the masa de puerco and it was great. The mofongo was as good as I remember it. The rice was fantastic. The portions were a plus. You have to try the empanadas filled with beef and cheese. The service was great. Just a single waitress but she was on top of things. The place is small and delightful, and it makes you think you really are in Cuba, I ordered "Ropa vieja" which was delicious and abundant. The waitress was very friendly, and the owner even more so.
