Fantastic local comic store, friendly and workers. Not a lot of action figures or statues, the place is much more about current and back issue comic books. They also host pop-culture events such as for Free Comic Book Day and May the Fourth Be With You. Be aware that there is a 10 dollar minimum to use a debit card. Highly recommended. read more

Horrible customer service and the owner was very condescending when she spoke to me. I simply asked questions about golden and silver age comics because I'm unfamiliar with them, since that's what a majority of what she sells there is, and she spoke to me as if I was an idiot and it felt like I was wasting her time. Been shopping here for years to buy comics for reading whenever I am in town. Not a place anymore I would recommend and was eager to drop an easy $2,000.00 in buying several of her comics I wanted. Anyone know of any comic shops in the area that sells golden or silver age comics? I'm willing to spend! Just not not at this place with the rude customer service. read more

Nice selection of older books as well as the usual current titles out there. I especially liked the fact that they had a very wide selection of comic titles you won't find at your average store. The staff there was friendly and was able to answer a question I had about a character I had seen in other books. They even brought over the comic book that character starred in, which was really nice of them to do. The windows are tinted pretty dark but they are open. They had some very early xmen books on the shelf, pretty cool since most places won't usually have books from that far back. read more

Customer service was rather poor. No one was at counter to answer any questions and most if not all of their prices were much higher then face value. Better off taking your business elsewhere. Reading other reviews, maybe I caught this store at an off time but the two people I was with said that they were in the back watching tv when I asked if they saw anyone who works here. read more

The place is amazing! Staff is super knowledgeable and great to talk too. I love their doggy mascot (I forgot her name but she was so loveable), I could have pet her all day. Great selection of comics, very organized, and clean space. I came in looking for a certain comic which unfortunately they did not carry but I ended up leaving with three others. I haven't been to many comic book shops, but at this point I won't need to because I'm quite fond of Comic Book Hideout! On the very first day I came in at the beginning of the year the staff asked for my name and even now they still remember who I am despite the fact that I don't visit as often as I can. They are always friendly and easy to talk to which makes for a very pleasant experience. They also have a large variety of comics to choose from and since I'm relatively new to the comic world, it's easy to ask for their advice on series that I might be interested in. read more

Came here for a MTG Pre release and my boyfriend and I had a great time. The people and staff were friendly. Clean place with lots of things to look at and they have awesome Harry Potter art by local artists. We've come in during times where there's a beautiful husky walking around and that's always a plus for me. read more

I've come to this store many times, and swore to never come back, only to opt towards giving it another chance for a single issue I can't get at my usual place, but it never helps me forgive it. The customer service is non-existent. I can walk by everyone that works there, including Glyness, the owner, and not be asked if I need help even if I obviously look like I can't find anything in the mess they call organization. Sure, I get greeted, but that's it. The prices are ridiculous on back issues. For example, Constantine back issues were all $1 over cover price when I can go ANYWHERE else in Southern California and pay cover price and maybe get a discount with a pull. One of the things that bothers me most as a collector/reader is the fact that the books smell like pot and incense. You own a freaking comic shop! Do you really think it's smart to have smoke near those books when it is known that collectors don't want smoky books?? And the pot smell, really?? Smoking pot in a business that is located within steps of the Police Dept? I would much rather spend my money elsewhere where I get more for my money and support someone who makes me feel valued. Hell, I would rather pay shipping on ebay over coming back here to be let down over and over again. Do yourself a favor and look elsewhere in the area; there's much better options very close by. read more

The location is a bit hidden but when you finally walk in there is tons of floor space for merchandise. The prices for current comics is standard at cover price; I wish they discounted their current stock like a few other local shops do. The back issues are normally over priced unless they have a sale which isn't very often. As far as RPGs and board games go, they don't have a a great selection to choose from. They do however have cool special events on occasion but not cool enough to make me a regular. read more

Best shop around, best I've ever been to, great diversity of indie and dc/marvel comics as well as magic cards and collectibles, friendly staff. Art and music shows are always fun, as well as weekly magic events. I visit very very often, looking forward to starting music lessons in the back too! read more

By far the best comic book store I've been to in Los Angeles! Very clean and very knowledgeable staff the books were arranged in the best possible way I have ever seen. The owner was there and she was really friendly and courteous and even allowed my kids to run around in the back. If you have kids definitely bring them over to this place as they have a special place dedicated for them while you go look for your separate treasures. I was completely blown away at the fact that this little treasure chest of a comic book store was in the middle of Fullerton. I definitely will be coming here is a regular and have found my comic book store! I absolutely love this store so much I'm going to actually see if they are hiring. If you have CGC comic books they will do validations in verifications also at the store.this is not a place you want to go to that you want to buy collectibles as they will order collectibles they do not have as much collectibles on display. The staff is always friendly here and I've visited every now and then in the past two years. The back issue selection has some quality finds and they even have a section for specific comic authors. You can tell that there is a love for comics. The pick of the week signs have illustrations that are cool. Very modern and local atmosphere. read more

This comic shop is fantastic. They have a large selection of back issues and are so friendly. The staff is knowledgable. If I ever have a question or need to know where to find something then they can help. The owner is very involved and knows her customers. The store being owned by a woman also pretty much guarantees that the store does not make women feel out-of-place there, which I love about it. There is pinball, game nights, and Magic: The Gathering nights. The bathroom is also pretty cool (because it's lined with posters). I feel I must emphasize again how great the staff is because they really are so friendly. read more

Probably the best location to get all your comic books! Amazing customer service; the staff members are so helpful. One of the workers went out of his way to help me find some comic books to complete my collection; found every single issue I needed! While wandering Downtown Fullerton I stumbled upon Comic Book Hideout. As a kid I used to spend some time at comic book stores many years ago and this place is by far the best I have seen. Really nice staff. Often they play great music and its nice to listen and while looking through the books. There is a little hangout area in the back where I sometimes see people lounging and reading comics or playing Magic or playing a nintendo that they have hooked up. The store also has a sections displaying art from local artists. There's a good number of back issue bins for Big 2 comics, but the bins could use some restocking to maintain the quality of the selection. There is a small but good section for old indies. Great place when it comes to newer comics. read more

Not impressed. The staff was friendly, however they are extremely overpriced. If you are a new collector I would avoid here as they you will be paying a considerable amount more for things. They have a fairly large comic collection but are bare on anything else you might want. Don't be fooled by their friendliness. read more
