I had found a bouquet on their website I liked except I did not like the vase, so I called in to see if they could change it and they totally did! I had no idea which florist to use for a memorial service in Fullerton so I asked a friend in that area and that is how I found Mum's the Word. From beginning to end the experience was flawless. I placed the order online and then called the shop just to be sure the flowers would be delivered to the church correctly. They could not have been nicer. Here's wishing that everyone's Valentine's Day, was better than the disappointing service and floral arrangement I received when ordering here. I spent a while searching for a florist and ended up choosing this unfortunate shop, based on their online advertisement and location. I will never again order from this place. Literally my First and Last. Talk about misleading... When I called to express my displeasure, I was met with "We follow the recipe"... I indicated the roses were larger in the picture than what I received. I was advised with sarcasm, that for the amount I paid, they are not large roses. If thats the case, UPDATE your online pictures to depict the true arrangement. I don't care for cost.... I paid for an arrangement that I saw as Beautiful and not just your basic "Red Roses". Look at my pictures and see for yourself. What they mislead with and what I actually received. I don't care for cost, because if I did I would not have paid for their expensive delivery AND the additional "Expedited" Shipping. I used Mum's The Word because I've driven past them a million times and I wanted to send some sympathy flowers. I ordered a new style of sympathy arrangement that had a unique concrete vase, which was perfect as the recipient is a contractor by trade and it fit him more than any other option would. When I got a call from the owner who explained that due to the delivery location they'd typically work with another more local florist, but none had that same vase. She asked if this would pose any issue, and I explained that it was the vase that made this one so perfect. She listened to me, and then she offered to drive it herself on her day off. I can't say this is something that will freely be offered to anyone else, but it was offered to me and it made an immense impression on me. I was happy to use a local florist, and this just cemented that I would be using Mum's The Word again and again because any of the big names or websites would have just cancelled my order or substituted without consulting me. I came to Mum's The Word last minute realizing that it was the week of my cousin's wedding and no one had arranged for her to have a bouquet. Even as a last minute order, Mum's was able to satisfy our hope for white peonies and red roses, the dream combo for my cousin. At pick up, the bouquet was placed in a wonderful vase with rocks and water to stabilize the ride to the venue. Unfortunately I don't have that pictured, but it was an unexpected touch that helped us feel more secure on the drive over. The look on the bride's face was worth the purchase and impressed the family and the guests present at her ceremony. It made the day more special and we thank Mum's for their artistry and attention to detail. Disappointment. I found this to be the word that best described my experience and the arrangement. I have been a customer here for a few years now and have told many people about this place. Unfortunately, my last purchase was a lackluster arrangement. There are 3 tiers when ordering online. Standard, Deluxe and Premium. According to the photos online, each tier up from the standard delivers a fuller arrangement with more flowers. This time this wasn't the case. I purchased a Deluxe arrangement and the one I received was not even close to the standard arrangement. I reached out to the shop and discussed my purchase and the issue I was having. They asked me to send photos and someone would get back to me. The owner called me to discuss the issue I was having. I mentioned how the photo and the actual arrangement are very far apart from what is being advertised. I received push back immediately. Almost as if she took it personal. She went on to state the photos are photoshopped and that I got what I paid for. False advertisement? Maybe make your photoshopped photos more realistic to the actual arrangement your customer is going to receive. The owner mentioned she is aware that the photoshops don't accurately depict the real life arrangements and that she has had other customers complain about the size of the arrangements. Please, if you know this then fix the photos on the website and stop the false advertisement. I mentioned that side by side my Deluxe arrangement was not even up to par with what the standard arrangement looks like. Basically questioning where the extra money for the upgrade went. She offered to have me bring it in and she would tighten it up and cut it down but it would look smaller. This did not make sense to me as now it's going to look even smaller? I also mentioned the quality control. I am aware flowers aren't perfect but having leaves with holes and some of the filler flowers falling as if they are dead isn't what a person should receive for the price of these arrangements. I am all about supporting local businesses but at the same time that business should strive to provide customers with quality products and service. At this point she began to have a dismissive tone and stated there's nothing I can do for you. I have been treated better at Chick-fil-A. It was obvious to me she didn't care and since they already had taken my money she was not willing to assist with the issue. Unfortunately, this will be the last time I shop here. Absolutely awful customer service. My husband purchased a bouquet from this floral shop and the arrangement was nothing like the "photos" posted online. We both have purchased arrangements from here for years and even recommended this location to family and friends. My husband brought the flowers home as we were in a rush to go somewhere and when we returned we both discussed the flowers are said they were definitely not the quality we have received in the past. The bouquet did not appear full as in the photos advertised and the flowers were tiny. We both called separately to speak to the Owner to see what we could do. She kept making excuses for the product we received and basically said we shouldn't expect the item to look like a "photoshopped online photo." We asked for a new bouquet and were happy to return the one we had picked up. She would not do that and said she could rearrange the flowers by making them shorter. I told her I wanted the flowers to look full and larger like what was advertised. She continued to make excuses. She originally said to bring back the flowers and she would issue a refund then put me on hold came back and and acted like she never said that. She refused to give us a refund. And proceeded to hang up on me when I told her I would put a review online and tell my friends and family not to order with them anymore. This is a review from someone that has actually never purchased flowers from this establishment. I've gone into the shop twice to look for flowers and every time I have been treated rudely. I was told today when I stopped by that she had nothing prepared and all the flowers I was looking at were already for other people and that if I wanted some thing prepared she could do it but I would have to come back, which sounded like it inconvenienced her tremendously. I also had my son with me who kids being kids will touch everything and she yelled at him for touching one of the baskets that was holding a flower arrangement. I had once purchased here and while working at St. Jude had had great success but recently I wanted to send flowers to a client. I did not wish to spend a fortune and said I wished to spend $50 dollars which to me sounds like a good amount, (this was not inclusive of delivery as delivery was additional). I had seen a few arrangements at my dentists office and they were delightful. I wanted pinks, and purples with softness flair for a 40th birthday. The women said "Well just to let you know that Fifty dollars is on the low side." Wow, that was a low blow. To me fifty dollars should communicate something elegant and not overdone. I received flowers from Mum's the Word florist yesterday. Firstly, the flowers are beautiful. The problem I had was that when they were delivered the delivery person slammed my door knocker three times before even gently knocking to see if anyone was home. I am recovering from a major surgery, and was sitting 10 feet away. My heart rate immediately shot up and I had a PTSD response. My partner opened the door, and I yelled out "you didn't have to knock so brutally." The delivery person answered back, "I just picked up your knocker and let it drop." I have lived in this apartment for 14 years and never had anyone come close to knocking like this. I responded, "bullsh.." as he left. When I called the main office to complain because I was so upset and disregulated, I was told that he was half owner of this company. When I said, I was convalescing, I was told that he didn't know that. Decided to buy a thank you bouquet so stopped in at Mums the Word. The two women at the door were busy getting ready for a wedding. Too busy to help me. I asked if I could walk in and look at her flowers in order to choose them. She said no because people go in there and crush the flowers! There was this rudeness that emanated from her.
