I made an appointment. I let the representative know I did not want to go over 45 minutes with the salesperson that would be coming. I got off the phone with a date set only to get a call 20 minutes later from the manager stating that they couldn't do an appointment with me if I would not give them more than 45 minutes. He was a bully on the phone and was rude. I didn't even bother to explain that I have health issues and sitting with someone for that long can be very tiring. Plus most the time when these guys come they keep pushing, pushing, pushing for you to sign a contract and I didn't want that going on either, especially if I was tired or not feeling well. So he said make a choice! So I said no thanks and appointment was canceled! They lost money. Probably a good thing seeing all these reviews about them! And the appointment setter wasn't very pleasant either. The way the manager talked on the phone I wouldn't want to do business with someone like that! read more

Beware of comfort window, they did not get our order correct, then never told us we weren't going to get windows installed when promised. I had to call and find this out. Then we said just cancel our order. They were extremely rude and unprofessional ( this was a district manger Joe C ) said we will not get our down payment back and hung up on us! I feel like they are very unprofessional and very shady business. This was not our fault that they got our order wrong nor our fault for not having windows installed when promised. We didn't have to put a down payment down but did and now they are keeping our money. I would never do business nor would I ever recommend them to anyone! Try getting ahold of anyone at the main head quarters and no one answers! If you are looking for window installation I would go anywhere but here!! read more

Don't suffer as I have suffered, avoid comfort windows and doors. I had them install two prehung exterior doors on my home for around 13k last spring. They used damaged materials that took many months to replace. They sent maybe 10 guys yet struggled to install the doors and hardware. They were talking about how high they were in my earshot while working on my house. I'm not a prude but you're working on my house for crusts sake. The door handles are falling apart and don't align properly with their reciever holes. The trim is shoddy and misaligned. They have a warranty but they do not seem to have anyone competent or sober on staff to do the work. They also rarely return calls or texts to their service dept. You think you are paying for quality work but they are a scam. Just have Bennett do it. In my experience their staff cares about the quality of their work. read more

I had a custom picture window made...was told it would take roughly 3 months to make, but was happily surprised when I got a phone call from Joe like 45 days later,saying the window was done and ready for pickup. I have nothing but good things to say about Comfort Windows and Doors. Everyone was friendly, accommodating, and I didn't have to chop off an arm or a leg to afford the window. We have had Comfort replace our roof and many windows in the last 2 years. They did great work on both. The work was completed quickly and was done well. Don't waste you time. I got a quote in June, Deposited the first week of July, and was told it would be 8-12 weeks for installation. They came out a week later to measure and order the windows (large, not standard size). A month later I got a check for my deposit refunded with no explanation. Spent a WEEK calling to find out what is going on (was this an error?). Finally got to speak to a manager who said they canceled my order/contract becuase they decided the slope of the windows (sun room) was too low for them to warranty the order, but "forgot" to reach out and tell me it was canceled. Both the salesperson and the person who measured the order a week later didn't see a problem with the angle, it took them a month to "realize" there was an issue with the slope. This manager then made a few jokes about me driving the office crazy with my calls, and how they really didn't want to refund my deposit, so they could spend it on a party. After waiting 2 months on them is not the time to make jokes about how unprofessional they were. I get it, mistakes happen, but not returning my calls when I am just looking for answers, and you acknowledging you messed up is just crappy business. Try spending less time on your radio commercials and more time demonstrating you are professionals who care about your customers. read more

Comfort doesn't seem to mind their employees using drugs while on the job and in their customers homes. Interesting. I am extremely disappointed in what turned out to be a very unprofessional company. My first interaction with Craig, the salesman, was great. After that, it quickly went downhill. It took me four days to get ahold of anyone in order to make a payment. I was first told that I could make payments towards the remaining balance, however, when I finally spoke to someone, I was told I had to pay it all in full. I asked about a payment plan and was told I would receive a call back to figure that out. Instead of receiving a call, I got a letter, demanding I pay the remaining balance, acting as if I'm trying to fleece the company. Your employees using drugs while on the job I was actually going to let go, but now that I am being treated this way, I'll mention it. The employees who worked on my windows and doors smelled like pot every day when coming into my home. when returning from lunch, they wreaked of marijuana so much it made my entire house smell and it was nauseating. Real nice. They showed up late every morning, and left early every day, until the last day, when they did a complete rush job to finish on time. They scratched one of my doors and tried to hide it by painting over it. Not sure if that's from being high on drugs, rushing, or both. Does this sound like quality and professional work to you? I guess to Comfort it does. Don't worry, you'll get your payment. I can assure you I will never use this company again for my other projects and other properties. I will follow the advice of my family (who I should have listened to before) and will be using Anderson for all future projects. read more

At the start everything was fine. Ordered windows, they came in on time the installation went well. A few months later I wanted to clean the windows. On half of the windows the locks were not installed correctly and the windows would not lock. One window would not tilt in. I called for service was given an appointment 2 weeks out. I had to wait around for a couple of hours for the repair tech to arrive. He could not repair the tilt issue as he needed a part. The lock he repositioned by redrilling the holes in the windows. After weeks of waiting and not hearing from Comfort I called and asked for a status. They said they would send a tech two weeks later. After waiting a couple of hours the tech showed up with the wrong service ticket and no replacement part to fix the tilt issue. His service ticket was for the first visit which was already completed. The tech said he would be back in two weeks. It has been three weeks and no tech visit or resolution. I called today spoke to someone who switched me to repair and was forced to leave a message with the repair group after asking not to switch me to voice mail. I am disappointed that the installation team did not see these issues and that the factory manufactured these windows with the locks installed wrong and tilt feature not working. I am really concerned with the response time if the window glass broke how long would I have to live with an open window (cold wind and security vulnerability). read more

I asked Comfort for a quote for an insulated and sealed door for my sun room which we were turning into a four-season room. This was to replace an existing single pane glass door. This was explained to both the salesman and person they sent to measure the door. The door was expensive but the salesmen said it was custom made and the highest quality. What they installed was a single-pane storm door that did not seal at all. In fact, it was worse that the door that was originally there. You could feel the wind blow through it and see sunlight coming through the bottom of the door. I called Comfort and the salesmen claimed he did not understand what I wanted. He told me they would install an entry door but the only entry doors they sold ran about $6,000 but they would credit me partially for the door they put in. I ended up using another contractor that installed an Energy Star rated door for about a fourth of that price. Frankly I feel like I was scammed. They did not sell what I needed (a moderate priced energy star door) so they just put in what they had instead of saying this was not a project for them. read more

Comfort windows replaced all of our windows in 2 sessions this year. We have a 1955 ranch with the original crank out windows which did not work and screens where not useable. After calling 3 companies, they were able to retro fit windows which match the style of our home. They took great care to add molding to the inside and outside of the house. They insulated around each window before the trim was placed. The clean up was excellent. We do have to paint some trim inside and outside. One installation took 2 days and the other 3 days. They arrived on time and cleaned up after each day. The team leader was Brandon. I highly recommend this company. read more

Got medium priced windows, not the cheapest or most expensive. However, they are very poorly made. They also don't fit properly, either too loose or too tight. Ultimately, we have to move the screens up or down, by hand, each time we attempt to open/close the windows. Disappointed in how soon they began to show wear-after first 1.5 years. The installation went off on time. And when one of the screens popped out very shortly after installation, they did come out to replace it. Would certainly not go with this product again...which we will probably have to do soon. They are three years old and I don't expect them to last much longer...not will my patience at having to shove them up and down every time I try to open them. read more

We had several jobs done (siding, 2 bathrooms, porch windows, front and rear entry doors). It took a long time for materials to arrive-CoVid, not their fault. Each of the projects were done as materials arrived. The work crews were prompt and courteous. They finished each of the smaller projects in two days or less. The work was completed in a satisfactory manner, clean up was also done. Our biggest project(siding) was completed most recently. The work crew for this job did an excellent job. It took several weeks, but the work was very precise(special shout out to Larry, he was outstanding). We are very pleased with look of our home! read more

We replaced the majority of our drafty 70s era windows and our sliding door a few months ago. Comfort was easy to work with from quote through installation. They even caught an overcharge and refunded us the money. I like that the windows are manufactured in New York State, and they seem to be of great quality. The inside temperature seems to be better regulated. The lifetime warranty doesn't hurt either, in case something happens. Installation went smoothly, though cleanup was not the best. I'm still finding nails and other bits in the yard from our September install. Even so, they did a great job with sealing and flashing. No more drafts! The best part about Comfort is the service. After install, we tried to install the glass shelf in our garden window ourselves. Naturally we failed and tore holes in both side screens. I called Comfort and the next day someone picked up the screens, and we had them back in a few days good as new at no extra charge. They even helped my fiancé install them and the glass shelf. We'll definitely consider Comfort again when we're ready to replace the rest of our windows and doors. read more

I don't know how the salesmen at Comfort sleep at night. I've been roofing for 15 years. Half my life. I come back home to NYS (I live elsewhere) and my find out my mother purchased a 2 square roll out roof for $2600. For anyone who's not a roofer, let me break it down. Roll out roofing is a horrible, inferior, cheap product. The typical price for a reputable company to install lifetime architectural shingles, is anywhere from 350-600 a square depending on the location and difficulty of the job. Standing seam metal (far superior product) also a lifetime roof, averages 900-1200 a square. My mother paid $1300 a square for this GAF, roll out crap. The materials for this job, cost MAYBE $300. That includes everything, drip edge, underlayment, (assuming they even used it) and fasteners. It's a garbage system and I'm glad they gave her a warranty on it becuase I can't wait until it leaks so I can speak with the salesman directly. read more

This is the worst company to do business with. They damaged property, installed the wrong color windows and took forever to complete the project. The only thing this company excels at is shoddy workmanship. This company is cheaper than others in the area, but beware. You get what you pay for. And as for the owners comments. See below. I stopped into their showroom to set up an appointment for an estimate for a tub relining. After having to change the time because the company made a scheduling error, the salesperson came at the rescheduled time and said I'd get an estimate in an hour. Instead, a couple of hours later I received an email saying his manager said they were too busy to do such a small job but if I agreed to have a surround wall installed, they'd do that job. As a result.I will not seek an estimate from this company for installation of any of their products. read more

There is a HUGE elephant in the room that nobody is talking about. Comfort Windows came and assessed our home and for whatever reason declared that they could not tap into our NYSERDA loans. This was false. This was an out right lie. They then proceeded to sell my husband a high rate mariner finance loan. Oh yes, it's 0% interest unless you are one day late, One time, ever. I have found from the New York State government that this is a really big problem. Because we signed the FinePrint we are stuck with the mariner finance loan, but I plan to file A complaint with the New York State Attorney General. I have to believe that they have earned millions of dollars through these mariner finance loans when they are enrolled with New York State NYSERDA. We're not done yet read more

The job took awhile waiting for kitchen window but 2 weeks ago all were installed. On 9/21/15 had a bow window installed in the livingroom and am very pleased with it. The crew that did the installation were professional - efficient, courteous and did a nice cleanup. However, my dissatisfaction is with the follow-up because there was also a small siding job to repair/replace a section of siding to the back of the house. Was told that because the siding didn't come from in from the supplier it was being reordered elsewhere. Never heard back so I followed up with Comfort Windows on 10/12/15 and was told they made a call to the supplier and will follow up. If I didn't call Comfort Windows how long would I be waiting for them to complete the job? They do have my deposit for this job. read more

Got a storm door installed - was ok - now that I have a repair call for the door - I call them on Monday 1/16 - placed - no info from rep I talked to -0 finally called them back today and was told they can't tell me when someone might call me back to address my repair issue - so maybe sometime before the end of the year they might call?? It feels like "The Money Pit" where they decide to call and maybe work on your house a certain day when they feel like it - so much for thinking of having them do a bathroom or kitchen remodel - Stay away from these guys.....find an alternative read more
