We've stayed here 4 times in 3 months. The first one was fantastic! The second time was alright. The third time was horrific, they said they'd comp my room the next time we would be there so we gave them one more chance. Good: no pets. Bad: rude staff at the desk - super rude female night manager. Laughed at me when I asked about the room being comped. Rooms smell of mold. Mold is on window sinks and in bathrooms. A/C Filters are covered in dust and not clean. Bugs everywhere. Stains everywhere. Breakfast is lacking for the price. The price changes in December, for the holiday train month. It's not at all worth the price or the insulting service. read more

manager tried to charge a Church group (registered paying guest) an additional 100.00 for three kids in the pool when manager was asked about the ;unfair fee and was asked to refund because the group wanted to leave because of bad service the manager (PETE PATEL) called the police on them and had them trespassed. in addition, they were not allowed back into the rooms to retrieve their personal belongings. the officers from the Palestine POLICE DEPT. would not accompany them to the rooms to get their belongings. the manager along with PALESTINE POLICE DEPT tried to gaslight the situation but the group leader held her composure and documented every aspect of the encounter on her phone and posted it to Facebook. PEOPLE of color do not patronize this hotel, do not go where you are not wanted, valued or appreciated. read more

HORRIBLE! Sink was completely broken leaking water all over bathroom. The hotel refused to resolve the issue. Management will avoid and ignore you if there is something wrong w/ your room. Don't book thru a 3rd party either because they will put you in their worst room then act like they can't do anything because you didn't book thru them directly. Breakfast is the worst i've ever had. Powdered eggs, hard biscuits. disgusting, better off opening a can of dog food, it would probably taste better. Spend the extra $10 and stay at the Hampton right up the road! We enjoyed our stay. Everything was very clean, the staff was very helpful and friendly. The room was immaculate. I did not like having the ice bucket and coffee machine in the bathroom. The window was truly dirty enough that you could barely see outside at dusk. Breakfast wast the usual hotel fare. My biggest complaint was that the cutlery was plastic and the plates were Styrofoam. If it absolutely has to be throw away, there are more environmentally friendly options nowadays. All in all, I would stay here again. read more

Everything was good until I went to check out the outdoor hot tub and got locked out. The key the got me into the gated area would not let me back in. I didn have my phone on me because I just went down to scope it out. I was outside screaming for over 30 min before someone came to look for me. There is no emergency phone in the hot tub area. We got the king jacuzzi room. The jacuzzi is smack dab in the living area of the room, a little odd. The room was clean, it had a weird vibe to the room. They tried to look like a nicer place but it was more motel feeling than hotel. The staff was a bit uppity. There was a consistent strong odor of marijuana down the hallway, the hotel said if they smelled any strong odors that they would charge a fee for that. It wasn't from our room, however I was charged a $25 random fee on top of the room rate. The facility was good, just gave off cheap vibes but changed bougie prices. read more

Nicely kept up hotel with a very efficient and pleasant staff. We arrived late Friday night for a morning ride on the Texas State Railroad Express run and needed a comfortable spot to sleep. This hotel suited us very well. The hotel itself and room are older but kept up nicely. Our room was a small suite with a refrigerator and microwave plus coffee maker plus a very comfortable bed and updated television. The room was quiet and no disturbance from anyone around us. As a bonus, they have a free breakfast that's simply good including scrambled eggs potatoes, sausages, pastries (including pigs in a blanket) pancake and waffle makers plus jam's jelly and cream cheese for the bagels. I especially loved the coffee.. great flavor! I would be remiss if I didn't mention Erica, the very nice lady who helped me with my coffee and finding what I needed. Thank you so much Erica, you are a blessing! Y'all should go see her and the rest of the staff and let them take good care of you! read more

We spent one night and enjoyed it, the room was clean and had plenty of pillows for the king size bed and the lady that checked us in was very nice. Our bathroom had a LED light fixture that kept cycling on and off while making a loud noise, we called and they promptly fixed the problem, kudos for the great response. For a small town hotel, it's very decent. No signal in the area and hotel if you have Tmobile but you can try their spotty free WiFi. WiFi worked the first night but failed the next day for me. Fast checkin, there's a free shuttle to the Polar Express, free coffee and water in the lobby, free breakfast buffet, free Christmas movies playing all day in the meeting room for kids, indoor pool year round...& sometimes kids activities and free pizza in the lobby in the evenings. There's only 1 elevator so there can be a wait. Luckily we stayed on the first floor. My friend had the 3rd floor and her room was infested with lady bugs. My room was very clean and roomy with a sitting area, microwave and fridge. Plenty of lighting. Room can get a bit cozy warm. Flat screen tv with cable. Extra blanket and pillow in the closet. Comfy bed and pillows. Smoke free hotel. Coffee machine in the bathroom. Soft fluffy towels and toiletries. There's a ice machine in the hallway and vending machine too. I'd definitely stay here again if I was in the area. read more

I stayed 5 nights. Front desk staff was friendly & helpful. The room was clean and nice. The bed was comfortable. Hotel is off by itself on a hill & even though there's a apartment complex near it was still very quiet. Nothing to eat within walking distance but lots of choices are just a short drive. After an annoying unresolved plumbing issue at our Lake House in Palestine, we caved-in & decided to spend the night @ Comfort Suites in Palestine. The woman at the front desk, Kim, was So Helpful & Accommodating! It happened to be Saturday....Labor Day Weekend...many many people were in town for family reunions....& NO ROOMS were to be found in town! I was starting to panic a little. I called Comfort Suites. Thank The Lord Kim was the one who answered the phone! She kept me calm....& let me know she would call me as soon as she got a cancellation for a double queen bed room.....it was just meant to be! BAM...a Cancellation! THANK YOU, KIM! ! ! The New Hotel is clean. The beds are comfy. The rooms are beautifully decorated. They offer a free Breakfast Bar, which is nice! The free Wi-Fi is, as Kelly A. stated, a plus! All in all, Comfort Inn is Friendly, Clean, Affordable & All Staff are Friendly and Accommodating! I would recommend Palestine Comfort Suites to anyone looking for a nice place to spend the night! read more

pretty bad experience. the manager in charge, Kristy, from the beginning was handling things poorly. she got confused about the price we were quoted and the price kept going up everytime she would take my card. We ended up paying way over what the original quote was during booking. She never once apologized for the confusion she caused us. Then the next day I was taking a nap, inappropriately clothed, and had the do not disturb sign on my door. Some contractors were repairing fire alarms and knocked on our door over and over until we answered the door. They tried to come in but we told them no, no one is coming into our room. Then he asks how long we'll be there. I went down to the front desk to complain about this obvious intrusion and Kristy just said "well, they're repairing fire alarms" again, no apologies no nothing. I asked her to not allow them into our room because I don't feel comfortable. I know for a fact she still allowed them into our room once we left. Then today we checked out and the biggest thing happened so far, she says we will be charged for damages because the "housekeeper said it smelled like weed in our room." absolutely No one smoked anything in our room the entire regime we were there and there was absolutely no trace or marijuana on our room. I was blown away by how obvious she was being, just trying to get me back for causing her any stress or complaining at all. She cannot take complaints and just gets defensive and refuses to do her job well and take care of her paying guests. I am appalled at the immaturity and the lies. I refused to pay any damage fees and canceled my bank card. I will never stay here again. read more

I had the worst experience booking with this location. I will just say the hotel manager is very insensitive to people with family emergencies needing to modify/cancel their reservations. Mr. Patel refused to reimburse my credit card for charges in the amount of $355.23 (3 days) after he was made aware of my situation. I have booked with Comfort Inn at MANY locations throughout the country as I am a travel nurse manager and use them frequently for myself and my travel nurses. NEVER again will I book with Comfort Inn due to Mr. Patel's lack of empathy for my emergency and unwillingness to understand my situation. At NO point was I told I needed 24 hours to cancel nor does their website state this. Take your business down the street to Hampton or Holiday Inn!!! read more

Very happy with our stay here. The hotel makes a great first impression with their lobby. The room was larger than expected and the sheets were simply fantastic. Really, I'm not one to comment on linen but these beds were very comfortable and mostly due to the quality of the sheets. The breakfast was typical but it was good quality and well maintained. The only con was the amount of dogs staying overnight. Not a dog hater but too many ill behaved dogs can ruin a night. We heard barking by multiple dogs all night. However, I wouldn't let this stop me from staying again. I'm sure it was an isolated incident. read more

Hotel was set a little off the main road, which made it fairly quiet. Was nice to have a sleeper sofa AND 2 queen beds. Our a/c leaked and got the carpet soaked the first night. Front desk had it fixed by the 2nd morning. Added an additional night and changed rooms to a king w/ sleeper and the bed was much better. Pre-packed breakfast, warm cookies were available Monday- Thursday but we never made it in the time slot (5-8 I think). Pool was small but indoors so the kids could burn off their energy before bed. Pretty sweet place at a pretty sweet price! Clean room, comfy bed, extra pillows in the closet. High ceilings, which was nice to dampen the noise from upstairs neighbors. The place was quite and peaceful, and the free breakfast includes pancake and waffle maker which was a huge plus. The front desk even had a goodie bag for us, with fruit, granola bar and bottle of water. My only complaint is that the Ethernet port at my desk wasn't connected. I uss a travel router cause I don't trust public WiFi, and I wasn't able to connect, but oh well. I've stayed at worse places, for more money. This is gonna be my go to spot when I'm staying in town for sure! read more

Most hotel chains have loyalty programs. You get points for free stays or something. All chains have cheaper hotels and better hotels. I chose Choice hotels and Comfort Suites because you can get a nicer hotel at a decent rate. That being said, not all properties are kept up to the standards they should be. This hotel was a shining star. They go the extra mile to keep everything great. The lobby is beautiful and the room was perfect. Nice gazebo out front away from the building for the smokers. That would be me. Monday through Thursday there is a free happy hour with beer, wine, and cookies. A nice touch. A clean room, soft beds, and cold A/C. The front desk people were friendly and helpful. Even had my name on a sign when you walk in! Absolutely no complaints about anything. Way to go people! And it's about a 15 minute drive to the Texas State Railroad. Perfect stay, perfect trip. We will be back! read more

The first room they gave us did not have this so we went back down they immediately switched out and were so super helpful! Stayed on a Sunday night after enjoying the Polar Express. Check in was very pleasant the receptionist was very kind and helpful giving suggestions for dinner. Rooms were very nice, clean and larger than expected. The morning breakfast was good offering good choices for the family. Hotel is set away from major roadway and no road traffic can be heard. This was the perfect place for our family of 6 to stay in Palestine for our trip to the North Pole on board the Texas State Railroad's Polar Express. The Palestine Comfort Suites is a nice, new, clean suite-style hotel only 10 minutes or so from the train. Hotel staff are incredibly friendly. The rooms are well-appointed with super-comfy beds. The free breakfast buffet had the usual suspects: eggs, waffles, bacon, sausage, assorted pastries and cereals. Free Wi-Fi is a plus! I'm impressed with Comfort Suites--a very good, affordable choice for large families hitting the road. read more

We initially were very pleased with this hotel. We were staying in Palestine for my mother's funeral and helping my dad after losing his wife of 46 years. My stepdaughter has autism and ADD and has a service dog. We let the front desk know of this because it is not a pet friendly hotel. We were told the checkout time was 11:30am and I get a knock on our door at 11:16am. I open the door and this housekeeper says to me "Um, are y'all gonna check out or what"? I told her we were told it was 11:30 and she told me "no, it's 11am", so I let her know we were packing now and will be gone. Then she sees our service dog and she told me this was not a pet friendly hotel and I let her know that it was a service dog and she rolled her eyes and say "whatever, there were no notes regarding that dog". We left. We basically slept there because were were out taking care of funeral and helping my dad and the dog was with us. We get a back and a week later get a charge of $150 because our dog was there. SERIOUSLY?? I did not see this housekeepers name but she was a white female, probably in her 30's with light brown hair and glasses. We travel all over the world and I have NEVER, NEVER experienced such disrespect. I will say the manager, Michelle was amazing. I sincerely hope they get rid of this housekeeper who has NO heart. read more

Dear Yelp, I would like to give the Comfort Inn & Suites in Palestine, TX a big high-five. My family and I have been using this hotel quite often since 2015. We've been to the LaQuinta, Best Western, and Holiday Inn on the other side of town. We've love each one of them, but the Comfort Inn really helps us tremendously. The breakfast is great (just needs to stop using the link sausage for breakfast. Bacon and ham only :0) The coffee is awesome and they gave a variety of items to choose from. I love the infused water. It would be great to switch the fruit around from lemons, to limes and maybe oranges. All three are awesome. the rooms are always great. The front desk folks are great and the owner is always there. He's great too. One thing I suggest is to make sure all the rooms have great beds and the showers have great pressure once the shower is turned on. The pressure is great coming out of the faucet, but once the shower is on, the pressure drops. We love this hotel and the people who run it and work there. Keep up the good work!! We suggest this hotel to our friends who travel up that way on occasion. read more

I could not give a better review after the prior night in a roach infested room for a top name hotel which quite disappointed me I was happy to come in to this clean welcoming atmosphere. The night staff that greeted us when we arrived late was wonderful excellent customer service lobby was clean and well-maintained. Rooms are spacious with comfortable beds sitting areas clean bathrooms an excellent showers and bathtubs. Cleaning staff was friendly and helpful common areas were well-kept vending machines work great location privately tucked off the main road. Hot breakfast served and 24 hour coffee service .....and free beer and wine until 4 PM. if I known about the free wine I would've gotten there earlier. After two days of travel I was exhausted and the room was so comfortable it was all I could do to get up in the morning and check out I truly considered canceling all of their plans just to rest and relax in that bed!! read more
