Update : Saturday we woke up to the smell of bacon. Breakfast was individually plated - thick/crispy bacon, blueberry pancakes, side of eggs (if requested) and a yogurt parfait with berries. All very good - but pancakes were exceptional. Tom the owner and chief everything was great and provided several suggestions and tips about the area as well.

My mother and I stopped in for the night as we were to attend a wedding the next day. They greeted us when we arrived, showed us around and left us to our night. In the morning breakfast was cooked to order and when I say it was perfect, oh my! And I am the breakfast police lol! The place was very clean, quiet, well maintained and just decorated so very well!!! The couple that owned the place were perfect, nice, more than accommodating, sweet, warm and most of all competent-- they weren't overbearing. It was my first B&B stay, so I had my reservations of course but the BAR IS SET!!! If I'm ever in Palestine again, this is where you'll be able to find me & I really wish my family had just booked the entire B&B, that would have been SO spectacular!! Thanks guys for the amazing stay!

I booked my room weeks ago for the highest available floor for quiet, but when I got there at 2:30pm the first thing they said was check-in is not till 3pm so the only room available for me at my rate was on the 1st floor. The room was next to the pool and kitchen but they said it would be quiet. Got to the room and it felt like a old motel scene the a/c was rattling and the furniture was antiquated. I told the concierge I couldn't do it and cancel my hotel. She said she would still charge me for a night or put me in a smaller room for the same rate. Wow! I said smaller room, higher floor, and a manager in the morning since she was not on the property. Get to my room on 3rd floor and miraculously it was the same size room I first requested on the highest floor. Hmmm. I'll post a pic and let you all decide why I was told the lie in the first place. Kudos to the housekeeping staff :-) I walked-in late in the evening without a reservation after having a horrible experience at the nearby EconoLodge (where I HAD a reservation they would not fulfill). The front desk clerk was very friendly and gave me my military discount, making the room exactly the same price as the nightmare place down the street. No problems here! The room is basic (as one would expect), but comfortable...and did I mention, clean?! One of the things I liked best was not having carpet in the room. With flooring you know what's the n the floor...not so with icky, old carpet. It was a bit noisy several times in the night (mostly cars and people in the parking lot).
