I don't love giving negative reviews when I didn't actually get to "experience" it, but I want to note this down for myself not to come back.
We dropped by for a walk in and this woman sort of stopped up in the doorway. The place looks and feels uncomfortably sketchy, kind of more like the front of someone's home? (at least compared to the places I go to in Eastside). We asked if we could get two foot massages (that's what they advertise in the window!) and her response was only to say time/money. We realized a bit later that we could speak to her in Chinese to make it easier, since it was probably a language barrier, but even after switching there was no friendliness. Noting, the place was also more expensive than I expected, it was $45 for 30 minutes, plus required payment in cash up front + 20% tip. In Eastside I was used to seeing places do less than $1/min before tip, and they looked nicer/cleaner.
We waited for about ten minutes while the person yelled at the people upstairs to come down and do foot massage, which apparently they just... didn't feel like doing? It wasn't even that they were busy, based on what she was saying; she was calling them lazy. Eventually she asked how we felt about one person doing foot and one person doing body, and since the point was to do it together, we said no. She yelled at the upstairs workers a bit more, complained to us some more about how lazy people were, and then said they couldn't accommodate us.
It made me sad to experience this and decided to just take my business back to Eastside. The street had several different locations, but I'm not so excited to try them after this experience. read more
