My mom had her furnace replaced and got a new AC back in 2013 from Comfort Solutions. Her AC stopped blowing cold air this summer so we called Comfort Solutions to come and service it. A tech came and then called a Consultant (salesman) to come out. They told her that the compressor was fried- their words. They said they could replace it for $4000 but since the unit was old the other parts could stop working and they couldn't guarantee they could replace them if that happened. They recommended that she get a whole new AC and it would cost $9000. My mom is 85 and on a fixed budget. She has awesome neighbors who watch out for her. When she told them she was replacing her AC they told her to cancel and they wanted to check on it first. She did that and one of her neighbors who knows how to service ACs came over and checked it out. He said it looked great and it only needed Freon. $60 later it was fixed. I don't understand people who can do this to old people in good conscience. I don't think we will be calling them again. My disappointment is that Comfort Solutions does not have the technical ability and trained staff to address an issue with a gas fireplace insert when other companies have demonstrated they have both the knowledge and expertise that Comfort Solutions lacks. I contacted Comfort Solutions to address a problem with a gas insert fireplace that would not light. They charged a bit over a $150 service fee to show up and diagnose the problem. After the initial diagnosis, they said they had to order parts. Nothing unusual about that. Without going into a blow-by-blow recap of the multiple visits over the following three months, it was their opinion that the fireplace could not be fixed. The communications with Comfort Solutions during this time were only when I reached out to them for a status report. To their credit, they did make multiple visits during this time but with no solution. When they finally reported the best solution was to replace the fireplace as it was not repairable they sent out a salesperson that more than happy to propose replacing the fireplace with new units with prices starting at $5,000 and up. Guess what, that did not include the tear-out and construction costs to rebuild the enclosure. In searching for a second opinion I came across another company that visited on Tuesday to diagnose and followed that up the next day with a full repair for less than $160. My greatest disappointment in Comfort Solutions was: - The over 2 1/2 months they spent attempting to repair the fireplace and the lack of communication keeping me apprised of their attempts to repair the fireplaces. - In their attempts to repair the fireplace Comfort Solutions compounded the issue by replacing a valve with one that it turned out was inappropriate for the application, and then leaving the inappropriate component in place when they gave up on their ability to resolve the issue. - The inability of Comfort Solutions to facilitate for more than months, the repair when another company visited the site on one day and had it repaired the following day. I do not dispute the amount of time their staff spent on site. My disappointment is the simple fact that Comfort Solutions does not have the expertise to diagnose and repair the issue when there are other companies that we able to complete the work in two business days. Could this mean there is more profit in replacing instead of repairing? The issue for me is that Comfort Solutions was unable to repair the fireplace when others could. Could this mean there is more profit in replacing instead of repairing? This is a clear demonstration of the competency of Comfort Solutions to identify and effect a repair. read more

I called to have comfort solutions come out and check my gas fireplace. I was having a problem with the pilot light continue to go out when it was running and I couldn't get it always to stay on. When they came out, they said there's nothing that could be done other than a whole new fireplace which would cost around $5000. this home is 20 years old a custom home. They cleaned it thinking maybe OK maybe that'll help. It did not. I paid $250 for them to check it and then after they cleaned it they came back out. I paid another $250 to tell me there's nothing more they could do. I decided to get a second opinion. Thank God I did. I would never call comfort solutions for any repairs. Second company came in was able to put in a new ignition and thermal couple just the inside guts of the gas fireplace that cost me $275. My fireplace works fine now. read more

They were here for less than an hour and charged us $535. They replaced no parts or equipment. Only cleaned our gas fireplace. That's over $400 / hr. Comfort Solutions took great care of me. Our 15 year old Trane furnace started blowing cold air on December 19th. It's almost like it knew exactly when to stop working to inflict as much stress and inconvenience as possible. Also, when I went down to see what the problem was, I noticed some pooling water underneath our water heater (which was the same age). My house had obviously turned against me during the most stressful time of year. I called every HVAC/Plumbing outfit I could think of in the area. Just to get someone to come out and give me a bid was difficult. Evidently there is no shortage of houses that hate their owners, especially during the holiday season. With minimal response from the typical HVAC/Plumbing companies and a lot of runaround, I decided to try a Trane certified contractor for the furnace. I went to the Trane website and found there were only two approved installers in the area. One was Just Right Heating & Air who I actually had out to service my A/C back in July and the other was Comfort Solutions. I didn't really care for Just Right's overall business model and the hassle involved. They were the first that came out to take a look and tell me that it could not be fixed due to multiple cracks in the air return (which he showed me with the snake camera). After Just Right left, I decided to call Comfort Solutions. They were the original installer of the furnace when the house was built. They left a sticker on the unit with the model number and their phone number. I'll be completely honest, I hesitated calling them for a lot of reasons the main one being I wasn't impressed with the equipment's overall performance and reliability up to this point. I will say, I am very glad I made the call that day. From the start they were very friendly and they went above and beyond to get me taken care of as quickly as possible. Zeb came out the next day to evaluate my situation and put together a quote for a new system. When Zeb arrived, Black Diamond had just finished giving me a quote for the water heater. I had one of their reps out that morning quoting the furnace as well. Seeing the other contractors poking around, Zeb said, "I'm not sure what you're trying to do, but I can tell you, if you're getting multiple quotes, I'm not going to be the cheapest." I laughed right out loud at that. Honesty goes a long way with me. Zeb was very thorough. He went through the whole house measuring and counting the vents and returns (the previous bidder only counted vents on the main floor and stated that the basement didn't matter). It took Zeb about an hour to work it all up. When he was done we sat down and went through it all. He had a quick and cheap option that would have worked just fine for what I needed. He also was prepared with options and add-ons to meet my preferences. I wanted something that would heat and cool my home efficiently. I was also looking for equipment that would be reliable and appealing to a future conscientious buyer. Zeb ended up working late going back and forth with me over email to get it dialed in exactly how I wanted it. He even went out of his way to make sure I was aware of an expiring credit that was being offered from the power company if I were to choose to go with a heat pump option instead of the traditional A/C unit. At the end of the day, not only was Comfort Solutions the cheapest bid for exactly what I wanted, they were able to get me on the schedule later that week! It most certainly was a Christmas miracle. Jeremy showed up right on time the afternoon of December 23rd to install the new system. He worked until 8PM that night and came back at 7AM on Christmas Eve to finish it all up. Jeremy was a huge blessing to us right when we needed it most. He did such great work and I couldn't be happier with the result. I would not hesitate recommending Comfort Solutions to anyone who will listen and if you are fortunate enough to have Jeremy work on your system, you're welcome. read more

Very disappointed in the service. The initial sales rep did not accurately measure/assess my wall. He sold me a fire place that was too large and they had to build out 5 inches to make it fit instead of being flush to the wall. It is now costing me an extra 2,000 due to their error. They did the initial install in the beginning of November and didn't reach back out to finish the project till the end of January. Finally set up an appointment between 8-11 and they texted me at 10 am saying they had an employee call in sick that morning so would have to reschedule. Comfort Solutions - Heating & Air Conditioning/HVAC Near Me - Sandy, Utah

Absolutely awful. I had them install wood burning stoves at 2 locations. The first one turned out ok, though the chimney is off plumb by 10 degrees or more. In the other location, the chimney pipe wasn't attached to anything and was ripped off by the snow on a 2/12 roof, damaging the new wood floor below. When they returned to repair, they charge me for parts and labor and did a horrendous job reinstalling the pipe and caulking. Result? Over 30 gallons of water in the new tongue and groove ceiling and wood floor. So, I'm deconstructing and reinstalling it myself so that I don't have any problems akin to the ones experienced after the "professionals" installed it. I'm honestly not sure the installers knew what they were doing aside from reading the directions in the box. BBB is next. Very painful experiences with them. Stay away and don't give them your money. read more

We have a Napoleon gas fireplace which was installed by Comfort Solutions in late 2017. It's one of the best choices we've made in updating our home. The fireplace works great and heats up the space beautifully. Comfort Solutions did great work installing it and helping us understand how it worked and how to keep it working year after year. We had a water leak in the chimney after a heavy rain and they came back and repaired it with no additional charge. We would recommend them and are currently working with them to replace our 30 yr old furnaces. read more

My AC unit died out of nowhere, but Comfort Solutions got me someone right on next day. Chris Borders was the service tech in charge, and it's my pleasure to give him 10 out of 10 without hesitation. He was friendly yet very professional and apparently quite knowledgeable. He was originally there to give me a quote for the new AC installation, but gave me very thorough diagnostics on the AC unit, answering all my questions with patience and detailed explanations. While maintenance company recommended the whole new system installation (which would have costed me $5-6000), he repaired the system just about $200. I can't appreciate Chris more! $$$$ Shane was very polite. It took 6-8 weeks to get him to come out. Diagnoses cost $99 for him to tell me there was a gas leak. The cost to fix it was $300+, $200 to clean up the unit. New options are around $3000. I contacted a handyman; $65/hr. new unit is $400, he told me it wouldn't take very long, to undo and put in the new unit. I am sure Comfort Solutions are amazing, but I am feeling like I called the wrong place to fix or replace a gas fireplace insert. read more

Comfort Solutions gets a 10 out of 10 rating from us. Our technicians name was Cameron. He went the extra mile in customer service. He was professional and took the time to take off all sides of our unit to find it was completely covered in debris. In the past with another company, they have never done that. Our unit is only 3 years old and a previous company used last year said we would need a new one this summer. Cameron said that didn't sound right. He found the main problem with debris and cleaned it and tuned it up for us. Our unit is working good as new! Way to hire an exceptional employee in Cameron. We will be customers for life! Comfort Solutions installed a Napolean gas fireplace in our condo in Park City a year ago. We have never been able to use it. It was installed very close to a wall at our request, and apparently within the specifications of the manufacturer. However, it causes some stained wood trim on the wall to emit nauseating fumes, so we can't leave it on. Removing the trim, moving the fireplace, or building cabinetry around it (thus shielding the trim) would solve the problem. The salesperson at Comfort Solutions, Dave recommended a carpenter, John Fawson from Streamline cabinetry to build a mantel/cabinet around it. However John refused to work with it, claiming the fireplace was unsafe being that close to the wall. Dave said he would work with John on a solution, but neither of them followed up. We gave up in frustration for several months. But recently we contacted Comfort Solutions again recently because we'd like to use the gas fireplace for the coming winter. Dave never got back to us, so we called the main line at comfort solutions. The response from Wendy was very "not our problem". The manufacturers spec says it's okay to install the fireplace that close to the wall, so it's not a safety issue. We can pay them to move it though. It's true that it's not their responsibility, legally, if the fireplace was installed to spec. We asked to have the fireplace installed where it was, and we should be responsible for paying to have it moved, or finding a carpenter willing to build cabinetry around it without moving it. But the difference between 5 star ratings on Yelp and a 2 star rating is doing more than just what your are legally required. They definitely haven't gone out of the way to make sure that we could at least use the fireplace. read more

I'm discontinuing my annual AC/Heating contract due to the lack of service received & the attitude of the serviceman. I called to complain & spoke with the service (?) manager, John. I've never felt so scammed in my life!!! We had a very minor problem with out heater so we called comfort solutions. It took them 3 different visits by 3 different technicians to fix the problem and in the end they said they had to re-wire our control module. Then when we tried to turn on our previously perfectly working air conditioner it wouldn't work. When the technician came out he said it had been wired incorrectly and now was shot and said that we need to pay $500 for a new model. When I got on-line and saw them priced for $200 the technician made a "phone call"' and suddenly the price was $250, but then they wanted another $100 to do a diagnostic. Frustrated I called another company who fixed the entire problem by simply re-wiring (or fixing the work of the comfort solutions tech who had re-wired it in the winter). All and all it took another company about 30 min to fix and cost me $50. DON'T USE THIS COMPANY, THEY ARE SCAM ARTISTS WITH NO INTEGRITY OR CARE FOR THEIR CUSTOMERS!!!! (would give them 0 stars if possible) In the end it cost us $90 this spring for them to fix absolutely nothing!!!! read more
