Daniel was excellent in taking care of my water heater issue. He was very nice and I would not hesitate to call for future needs. A+++

I called Sunday April 19, 2026 and the after hour person, Dane, took a thorough message, "What was…read morethe possibility of a service person coming between Monday or Tuesday to clean our fireplace gas insert as well as clean our Ac compressor. We were listing our home for sale much sooner than anticipated." I received a call Monday morning saying they received my message and they could schedule us that day as they had just had a cancellation that was actually for our area. By 11:00 Am that day the service person, TJ came out and cleaned the AC compressor and gas insert and glass. I was thrilled when I saw how fabulous the fireplace looked. Thank you Colony Heating and Ac and Thank you TJ!

2 years ago in the winter, I awoke to a cold house. I was new to the city, so I called around…read more Colony was the first available. The technician was efficient and the price reasonable. However, due to it being a Saturday, I was charged a $250 weekend service charge. The problem was that drifting snow had blocked the outflow pipe. While the technician was at my home, he received a call from my neighbor experiencing exactly the same thing. The technician advised him to clear his exhaust pipe. No charge. I did not object to the technician's service fee, but felt the weekend fee excessive, especially since my neighbor was treated fairly at NO CHARGE. Colony profited unreasonably and lost my business because of it. Dr. Sisson

TL/DR Review: JP Plumbing & Heating is fantastic! They are actually willing to fix you furnace, or…read moreair conditioner, instead of just trying to sell you a new one. That can mean the difference between spending a few hundred dollars on a repair, or spending several thousand dollars on a whole new HVAC system. Unabridged Review: In order to understand what makes JP so special, you need to know a little about how the HVAC business works. Imagine if every auto mechanic primarily worked on one or two types of cars, but they didn't have a sign out front telling you which types they worked on. So, if you bring your Honda to a mechanic who works on Honda and Acura, he'll have all sorts of parts in stock, and he'll fix your Honda. If you bring that Honda to a mechanic who works on Toyota and Lexus, that mechanic has a choice. He can either order parts and try to fix a car he's not used to working on, or he can tell you your Honda is in bad enough shape that it's not worth fixing. Then, he can sell you a Toyota, make a lot more money on the sale in a lot less time than it would have taken to fix your Honda, and also make it so it's easier for him to fix your car next time. That's exactly how most HVAC companies work. If your system is made by York, and the company you call primarily sells Goodman and Trane, they're typically not going to order a York part for an HVAC unit they don't typically work on, and then have you get angry it's taking so long for the part to get there, when they can make a lot more money selling you a new Goodman or Trane furnace and condenser that they will always have parts for. I don't blame them. I understand why they do it. I just don't want to pay $6,000 for a new HVAC unit when I could have paid $300 for someone to diagnose the problem, and replace a part that probably costs $25-$50. That's where JP Plumbing & Heating comes in. My wife first discovered them after one HVAC company had told me my problem was my thermostat (it wasn't), and quoted me something like $1,200 for a new thermostat, three new filters, and way more labor than a thermostat requires. Then, another company told me my entire HVAC system needed to be replaced. JP sent a tech out. He examined the furnace, and determined that the flame sensors were malfunctioning because they were covered in rust. He spent a couple hours scraping the rust off, and the flame sensors have worked great ever since. This was two or three years ago. We called JP again this past Wednesday afternoon, because the furnace kept kicking on and off randomly. We figured the flame sensors might have rusted again. JP sent a technician out early the next morning (yesterday). He determined that the problem was a broken pressure switch, and he had it fixed in probably less than an hour. So, I have called JP for two separate things, and they were able to fix those things both times, instead of selling me a new HVAC unit. If you want to spend thousands of dollars on a new HVAC set-up, then definitely do that, but don't spend thousands of dollars on a new unit because you called the wrong HVAC repair company. Call JP instead.
