Picked it on Booking.com when too pooped to continue home. Decent price w/breakfast. Clean, but worn a bit. A/C effective and quiet. Beds clean and comfortable.

Very close to I-55, but no noise. Very nice people working here each time. All room at accessed from inside the building. The room was nice an cool when we entered, a relief from the 100 degrees outside. Clean with very comfortable bed and the most comfortable pillows ever. Desk, comfortable office chair, arm chair, convenient electric outlets by beds, clock radio, TV, fridge, microwave coffee maker, hair dryer, iron and ironing board. They have an exercise room, with a Treadmill, elliptical and weight machine. Toiletries. Good water pressure and okay shower head, good for tall people. Some room showers are better than others. There are coin washer and dryer by elevator on 2nd floor. Drink machine by elevator on 1st floor. The shower has drained the last two stays. The tub is very slippery, so if you have balance trouble, definitely put the rubber mat in the tub! I would like to clone this place for everywhere I go. There is a meeting room and a computer with printer.

Nice staff and breakfast but the bed wasn't very comfortable. I'd still stay here again tho. :)

Home2 Suites by Hilton Hammond

While I am more loyal to certain hotel brands, there's something about the Home2Suites by Hilton…read morethat always makes me book there when I'm in a smaller town. And this location is no different. In mid-September, I had a two week assignment in Hammond, LA. While there were other hotel options that caught my eye, I knew Home2Suites would have what I'm looking for: spotless rooms with a comfortable bed, a mini-kitchen area, great breakfast, large exercise room, and a modern/snazzy lobby area with plenty of space and electronic sockets. That's exactly what you get here. Plus the room also has a large comfortable couch where you can plop down in when you're exhausted. The staff is uber friendly and they cleaned my room every day. I'm hoping I get more assignments in Hammond just so I can stay here again!

Honestly never been to a Home2 Suites because it's supposedly a lower tier brand of Hilton, but it…read morewas far better than I expected! The rooms are pretty big and cute, with a mini kitchen (good sized fridge, microwave, sink) and working areas, and the included breakfast here was far far far better than anticipated! On the day I went, you can literally make yourself chicken and waffles! They had Arby's style potato cakes (could be crispier, but splitting hairs) that I prefer much more over those lame breakfast potato cubes, slices of cheese if you wanted to make yourself a sausage and cheese (biscuit) sandwich, cheddar egg bites, and tasty yogurt! And the sauces, Nashville hot sauce, yes please! Also they do have 2 EV charging spots through Blink, which is helpful. Would recommend!

Update: Yes my stay here started out very rocky, but the staff was more than accommodating…read more Veronica, the AGM, was very apologetic and personally hand picked my new room. Apparently they are in the process of renovations due to some recent water damage. The front desk clerk, Ryan, was very helpful and handled the situation in a very professional manner. Highly disappointed being that this is part of the Marriott chain. Had this been the first Marriott I stayed in I would not want to give this hotel chain another chance. Now don't get me wrong it's not a roach motel or anything, but c'mon Courtyard, you all could do better! I had to change rooms because the AC unit in my first room was so loud I honestly thought it would blow up and give out at any moment. The room smells of mildew as if there has been water damage and by the looks of the walls and bathroom I believe there may have been. The second room I'm in is just OK. The sofa bed was tossed in disarray as if someone had attempted to clean it but didn't put it back together, smh. Had there been a Drury in the nearby vicinity I would have surely stayed there. Fortunately I'm only in town on business for 3 days so I'll manage...

While on the road today I called 7 locations prior to landing on this one. Andy was exceptionally helpful. He told me EVERYTHING I needed to know and assured me there would be parking for our van+. Upon arriving, we found the truck lot to be full, so he allowed us to pull in and park along the side stress free! Check in was super fast and our room is clean, spacious and just.... perfect. They even have a hot tub and laundry! I had to bother Andy for change, then detergent and he just smiled and helped me out. The loaction is CRAZY convenient to I-12. There is no food within walking distance or on site, otherwise I would have given a 5. However, breakfast is served in the morning and there are vending machines. There are also TWO major fuel stations and a Dollar General just right at the turnoff onto the street. (Edit: The walls are rather thin and the beds quite firm. My neighbors are keeping me up and even my sound machine is no match for their FLIPPING tv.)

We then noticed there was only 1 person handling complaints, front desk check ins, plus phone calls. After getting 2 rooms. Room 1 did not have linen, open food in a drawer, a USED DIAPER in another drawer, and a filthy mirror in the bathroom. It took 30 minutes of waiting at the front desk to get linen. After this wait we noticed we still needed pillow cases. In the second room it was missing a shower curtain. There is a reason this place had vacancy when other places were booked. This place was awful. We will not be back.

Rooms were VERY spacious and beds very comfortable. Everything felt very clean. The breakfast was just okay, it would have been nice to have a little more variety like cereal or yogurt but it was still nice. I also felt like there were not many towels in the room, although I am sure I could have asked for more easily. This hotel is pet friendly which is also a must for me traveling with my dog. Overall a safe, comfortable stay for a good price.

(the entrance road is a sharp right after you turn into the taco bell entrance - look for their tall sign beyond the taco bell)

The room itself was also decent. It was clean, didn't have any broken items in it that were obvious to me, and it was actually quite spacious. They have probably gone through a refresh sometime in the last year or two. Really, I have no complaints. I got what I expected out of a Days Inn off of an Interstate.

I stayed one night at Day's Inn in Hammond, Louisiana…read more My first impression was the check-in clerk. Reminded me of a police office I used to work with at a police academy. Felt cold and unwelcoming. My first impression of the room was not good, in fact staying here was a regrettable decision. I only stayed here because of the reviews I read and because I am a Wyndham member. When I opened the door, the room reeked of a stale swamp mixed with cigarette smoke in my non-smoking room. I choose not smoking rooms because I expect a cleaner environment and air. Smoke and allergens can trigger asthma in some people. Further into the room and near the sink area, it smelled like stinky socks or dirty underwear. Everything stinks in this room, even the bedding has a distinct smell of smoke, which makes me wonder if the cleaning person smokes. I opened the front door to the outside despite the humidity. Three hours to try and air the room, but it didn't work. I made sure to take my allergy medicine because the air in the room was making me cough. I woke up several times due to the bad air in the room, finally around 5 AM I turned off the air conditioner and that seemed to help. I could hear large amounts of water in the air conditioner swishing around as it turned off, which tells me, the mildew and mold swamp smell probably comes from it, especially since its not the kind of air conditioner with a drain on the back to get rid of the water. The carpet smells like mildew or mold too. I never took my socks off while in this room, except to shower. When I first entered the room, I began turning on the lights so I could take photos and when I walked into the sink area began to slip and fall because the tile was slippery and wet for some reason. I had to take a bath towel and wipe the floor dry. Can't think of a reason why a room floor that should of been cleaned five hours before I arrived would be slippery. The mini-refrigerator didn't seem to work. I checked its temperature setting and it was dialed to its coldest setting, but it wasn't cold, so I kept my food and medicine in my ice chest. This room had a table and chair which I cleaned the top of to work from, I couldn't trust my health to a dirty table, considering how poorly cleaned the rest of the room appeared to be. The rest room was probably the cleanest area, but I didn't feel like eating or working from the toilet. It had a small sofa couch and table. Normally, I'd sit on a sofa chair like this to do my work, but again, of all the motels and hotels I have stayed in, it just didn't feel like I should risk it. since they can't even manage the very minimal basic cleaning standards of a room. The TV worked but when I tried to power it off, the remote power button didn't work. I had to unplug the TV. When I plugged the TV back in, it turned on. I couldn't locate any manual buttons on the actual tv. Selecting a channel was dis-ambiguous and it had only a few channels. The Air Conditioner is cold enough, but due to the horrid smells of this room, I checked its filters and they were really dirty and hadn't been cleaned, so I cleaned the air filters to help reduce respiratory issues. The bedding smelled like cigarette smoke. The bed was squishy and lumpy like a worn out pillow, and the little square pillows were to firm. I woke up with a sore neck. Considering I have to drive 10 or more hours leaving here, its less than desirable. I woke up multiple times during the night. In all sincerity, I would have had a more comfortable nights rest if I had slept in my Honda Element at a truck stop for free and still would of had free internet and shower. The windows couldn't be opened, or I'd have cracked them open to air the room over night. I took photos which show the amenities if you really think you want to stay here. In my other reviews I discuss the amenities in detail, but I disliked this stay so much, I don't want to bother. As I am writing this review, I just heard, "Police! Open up" outside at a near-by room.
