    BUG INFESTATION!! DO NOT BOOK HERE!…read more We booked a room at Hampton Inn Baton Rouge-Denham Springs through Booking.com. We checked into the hotel on June 21st at 11:56 pm. After our long drive, we came up to our room, showered, and went to bed. We had an early day on the 22nd, so we woke up, got dressed for the track meet that we traveled into town for, grabbed breakfast and went on our way. It was a very long day, so we decided that we would spend our evening resting at the hotel after our children's track and field competition. After showering and relaxing for a couple of hours, my daughter noticed that there were bugs in the window and near the AC unit. Once my husband and I began further investigation, we discovered that we had spent the last 18 hours or so in a bug infested room (possibly the entire hotel). We immediately took a video and went downstairs to the front desk under the impression that we would be accommodated and relocated to a different room. ...Enter ALEX, who is one of the most insulting, Hilton hotel clerks I have ever met in my entire life. When we inquired about moving to another room, Alex told us that the hotel was fully booked (keep this in mind). Next, we were told that there was nothing that could be done because maintenance was not on site, THEN when we made it clear that this excuse would not fly, Alex's solution was to spray our room with LOADS of RAID and have our children sit in the lobby for "about 5 minutes". Mind you, this was after he insinuated that WE must have brought the winged insects with us to the hotel, because we did not report it at 11:56 the night before. We have two allergen induced asthmatic children who both have competitions tomorrow and my son is now having a reaction to what I can only assume is the chemicals in the bug spray. We have asked for a refund so that we may go to another hotel and were refused that option as well. I was inclined to believe that we were being lied to concerning the hotel being fully booked, so I checked online and sure enough there was availability. I called the front desk from my cell phone, put on a sweet voice and inquired, sure enough Alex confirmed that they had a room available. I immediately walked back downstairs (video posted) and inquired face to face about the room. Although there is another room at the hotel available, guest services is refusing to move our family. They claim that because we booked through Booking.com, no changes can be made to the reservation REGARDLESS of a flying bug infestation.   Do what you will with this information, but if I were you I would keep searching for a better place for my family to stay!

We had reservations and had been pre- assigned to a 2nd floor room, but the desk clerk (Dale) kindly offered one on the 1st floor in the back. We really appreciated this even though there's an elevator near the lobby. There are cardkey-operated entrances on either side of the motel. The room was spacious, with king bed, 2 nightstands, desk and chair, and dresser with fridge, microwave, and a couple of drawers. There was no freezer compartment in the fridge. The bed was comfortable and the AC worked well. But those 4 small bed pillows were a bit odd. The flat panel TV had plenty of channels. Wifi was ok, but unsecured. The room door was self-closing, but very loud. The bathroom was large and had a stall shower. Unfortunately, only one of the plastic shower doors moved. The toiletry dispensers were no longer being filled, so bar soap was supplied. There was no shampoo nor was there a hair dryer. But there was an iron and ironing board (which few people use, I think). There was a substantial amount of mold in the shower. Juices and coffee are available 24/7 in the breakfast area, a nice treat. Breakfast was so-so. Plenty of carbs, little protein. A person who seemed in the know commented that today's hot food was sausage and eggs, while yesterday's was eggs and sausage. Both were in the form of round patties. There was a waffle maker. If you keep your expectations low, this BW isn't a bad choice for the price.

    I prepaid for a 5 day, four night stay at this hotel which I found on Delta's website. They…read morepromised A Hot breakfast, a fridge, microwave , and coffee service in every room. I also booked a double, handicapped room. The photos shown on the website were of a budget hotel that was clean and accessible to the highway. When myself and my cousin arrived. , I was given a king bedroom and when I asked about the double, I was told that they didn't have any of those on the first floor!! When we entered the room, we were shocked to see only one towel each and one washcloth each. No hand towels. There was also NO BEDSPREAD OR BLANKET on the bed !! When I called the office. I was told that they "don't provide bedspreads or blankets??!! I also asked for extra towels as the ones provided were TI NY!! So I had to go out to Walmart to BUY a $40 blanket since the temperature was going into the low 40's that night and the heater was barely working.. I will NEVER go to this or ANY SONESTA HOTEL AGAIN! Which is sad because I usually spend EVERY birthday at the Royal SONESTA on Bourbon Street and I love that hotel... But, given the lack of response from SONESTA when I complained to them regarding THIS EXPERIENCE was Disappointing!! I was shocked to get such a "ho-hum" response. They said, "sorry about how you feel, we will pass it on to the hotel manager!!"" Are you KIDDING ME?? I spend a few thousands of dollars a year with this chain and that's the BEST YOU CAN DO??!!! I guess no more Royal SONESTA for me!! No more fine dining meals at the restaurant in the hotel... it's a shame!! Furthermore I asked SONESTA to give me credit for points I earned during this miserable experience. I got ZERO RESPONSE about that either!! SAD!!

You get stuck paying $120/night for what you should rightfully expect would be a clean place to lay down your head. I grabbed a towel and put that down on the bed as a barrier after pulling back the sheets and finding hair and stains. Slept fully clothed and prayed for morning to come so I could get out of this nasty place! Disgusting!!
