Cheap but kind of dirty. Room not very clean. No housekeeping and had to go get my own towels.

BUG INFESTATION!! DO NOT BOOK HERE!…read more We booked a room at Hampton Inn Baton Rouge-Denham Springs through Booking.com. We checked into the hotel on June 21st at 11:56 pm. After our long drive, we came up to our room, showered, and went to bed. We had an early day on the 22nd, so we woke up, got dressed for the track meet that we traveled into town for, grabbed breakfast and went on our way. It was a very long day, so we decided that we would spend our evening resting at the hotel after our children's track and field competition. After showering and relaxing for a couple of hours, my daughter noticed that there were bugs in the window and near the AC unit. Once my husband and I began further investigation, we discovered that we had spent the last 18 hours or so in a bug infested room (possibly the entire hotel). We immediately took a video and went downstairs to the front desk under the impression that we would be accommodated and relocated to a different room. ...Enter ALEX, who is one of the most insulting, Hilton hotel clerks I have ever met in my entire life. When we inquired about moving to another room, Alex told us that the hotel was fully booked (keep this in mind). Next, we were told that there was nothing that could be done because maintenance was not on site, THEN when we made it clear that this excuse would not fly, Alex's solution was to spray our room with LOADS of RAID and have our children sit in the lobby for "about 5 minutes". Mind you, this was after he insinuated that WE must have brought the winged insects with us to the hotel, because we did not report it at 11:56 the night before. We have two allergen induced asthmatic children who both have competitions tomorrow and my son is now having a reaction to what I can only assume is the chemicals in the bug spray. We have asked for a refund so that we may go to another hotel and were refused that option as well. I was inclined to believe that we were being lied to concerning the hotel being fully booked, so I checked online and sure enough there was availability. I called the front desk from my cell phone, put on a sweet voice and inquired, sure enough Alex confirmed that they had a room available. I immediately walked back downstairs (video posted) and inquired face to face about the room. Although there is another room at the hotel available, guest services is refusing to move our family. They claim that because we booked through Booking.com, no changes can be made to the reservation REGARDLESS of a flying bug infestation.   Do what you will with this information, but if I were you I would keep searching for a better place for my family to stay!
