I just spent an hour and a half in the lobby walking someone back home (the US) through what i needed done on the internet...utterly frustrated. Also, it is not a good place to stay for tourists, very much out of the way. Not a bad experience if you don't have anything important to do, but if you need internet and convenience I'd recommend staying somewhere else.

We booked 2 rooms 5 months ago and our rooms are not only separated, but on 2 different floors.

This location is very conveniently located next to the Berlin Zoo train station. It's about a 2 minute walk to the station, and there is an express bus that goes directly from the Berlin Zoo train station to Tegel Airport. It's right close to the Kufürstendamm, the major shopping street in the former West Berlin. The room was comfortable and extremely quiet. I got a nice room on the seventh floor. The decor is modern and the bathroom fixtures are very nice. The lobby has a bar that serves drinks and small snacks late at night. It was nice to come in about 11:00 pm and relax with a beer in the pleasant hotel lobby before retiring for the night. The breakfast buffet is very good with hot and fresh rolls, pastries, cheese, cold cuts, boiled eggs, and bread. I especially liked the loaves of bread that you could slice. Nothing beats German bread. This is a good choice if you're on a budget but want to go slightly upscale.

But be aware, as the aforementioned Bahnhof Zoo and the nearby erotic museum mark this area as one of the (also historical) more seedy areas of Berlin. So please be prepared to encounter some really special characters when returning from partying in Kreuzberg in the wee hours of Sunday.

When we arrived we were a few hours early and feared we wouldn't be able to check in yet but the member of staff behind the reception desk was so helpful and lovely. He checked us into a room without any problems. The foyer is modern and clean so we got great first impressions. There's tourist information, maps and all you'd expect to find at a hotel. The snacks and drinks are extremely pricey though, as is breakfast if you haven't already got it included in your booking. The room was nice, not amazing, but it did us just fine. There was a few holes in the net curtains and the room wasn't as modern as I'd expected but everything was clean. The room came with amenities such as a fridge, shampoo, shower gel, tea and coffee tray and free WiFi. The WiFi was pretty slow and frustrating though. Every day the maids would clean and tidy the room and I got such great sleep in the bed during my stay as it was very comfortable. The location is just outside of the central locations I'd say but we didn't mind a 10 minute walk into town. Potsdamer Platz is literally a 10 minute walk away and there you will find some shops and restaurants. There's an underground station right at the end of the road where the hotel is, like 2 minutes walk, where you can get to the zoo and Olympic Stadium on the same line. So handy! Would definitely come back here if I visit Berlin again and I would certainly recommend this hotel to family and friends.
