Though it's called a hotel, I might call it a hostel. It is mainly used by student. Our room was a very basic, small but decent room. You may not appreciate an occasional loud noise in the hallway with late-arriving guests. Complimentary breakfast is pretty good. Front desk personnel are friendly and very helpful ready to dispense very helpful information about touring in Berlin. You may not be able to find any free parking on the street, but there's a paid parking lot nearby.

Good thing: the hotel is at 10' walk from the Memorial of the Wall, and that's really a perfect start to visit this city! Also, it's near a metro station (3 stops from Alexanderplaatz) and if you want to visit the center of Mitte you can clearly go by foot. The hotel is also quite new and the room we had was nice (clean, big enough, rather new accommodations and the beds were super comfortable). The breakfast is also really good and the price is more than correct. There's unfortunately one thing preventing me to put a 5/5: the wifi is available only near the reception and not in the rooms. Except for that, it was a great hotel I would surely recommend!

Rather than having a queen and king (2 pushed-together twins) bed as described, it was a double and a king. Despite a 100-euro "extra person" added fee that we had not seen in the small print when we booked (our tween in a room that slept 4), there were only pillows, coffee cups and pods, etc. for 2, and asking for more was kind of a hassle. Other items (like lotion, water, etc.) were not refreshed during our stay. All in all, this hotel has the potential to be great, but it is not living up to it.

I booked a King sized bed, even sent an email to confirm it. I am not a small fellow, 250lbs. My wife is smaller but with us both on it at the same time it is not much space. This is a "full sized bed" in American terms. I ask the front counter about this and they advised me in Germany "King sized" just means one bed not two twins. None of the other two hotels I stayed at in Germany used this cultural norm I was unaware of. Also the bathroom is the size of a coat closet. When I stand in the shower my shoulders are an inch from the walls. The safe in the room was locked when we arrived, I will try and address this tomorrow. The neighborhood is decent, but pretty far from the city center or east side with most things I want to do. (I will own that one but it can be hard to tell when you don't know a city) When I discussed the bed issue the clerk did offer me a free bowl of fruit. So I may be sleeping on the floor but I will have an abundance of apples when I do it. If you are looking for a throwback 80s experience maybe this is for you. However do not be mislead that this hotel is anything close to the accommodations of an average Best Western. Also the elevator holds 4 people max, but that is being extremely generous Update: We were moved on day two to a better room with a bed we could both fit on Final update, the staff got us moved to a much better room where we could get a good night sleep after a fun day in Berlin.
