My husband and I have been coming here for 5+ years. Dr. Wood and the hygienists in my opinion are amazing. We have had fillings, crowns, wisdom teeth removal and periodontal deep cleaning. However, the insurance verification staff could use a lot of improvement. My husband and I have ALWAYS been under the periodontal maintenance plan which is a deep cleaning every 4 months instead of every 6 months. We were on a dental plan in 2023 that had no waiting period for these deep cleaning at only $125 per visit. But the insurance staff told me this plan was terrible and that I should upgrade it because it was too hard to bill the ala carte delta dental clear plan on their end. So I switched the plan in 2024 per their instructions. Well, now there is a 12 month waiting period and my husband and I are not covered for exact treatment plan that they gave us for deep cleanings every 4 months. We need to pay $200 out of pocket for the treatment plan that we were given. And now we are paying a high monthly dental premium for no reason because what we need isn't even covered. We should have stuck with our original clear delta dental plan. Do your due diligence and call and check your insurance on your own before going here. Or go somewhere else where you aren't given conflicting information about changing delta plants/etc. read more

The doctor is great and does great work. But the people that work in the office are crazy! I called to make an appointment for an extraction for my mom who has been coming there for over 2 years and always on time and paying her bill. The lady on the phone said that unless I give her 50% down, she won't make any appointments over the phone even though they have an available spot on Thursday!!! How ridiculous can this be?! I got a crown there, it didn't last not even a year it broke after about 8 months, I went back to let them know and they charged 160 for the consultation even after they were the ones that put the crown I didn't expect to pay for a replacement or even consultation, they gave me choices and how much it was going to cost me to repair it, I didn't go back just found a different dentist. Really bad practice and no guarantee of any kind, I don't recommend this place to any one, they don't care about the patients, very disappointed I gave then free money and I regret going there. read more

I am one who has had some major traumatic experiences with a couple dental offices. My fear has made me not seek dental services for quite some time which lead me to need a root canal. Comfort dental has turned that around for me. The empathy and care I received was outstanding. I am so grateful to have found this office. Everyone from the front of the office to the back were kind and helpful. I couldn't have asked for any better experience! I don't remember my Dentists name but he sat and talked with me for what felt like an hour and answered every question I had. I know this is silly but my favorite part was when they asked me if I wanted a blanket while I was getting my procedure done to feel more comfortable. I have never had a dental office offer me that. Don't even bother looking this place up. I was treated like a child at school. You know, when you have kids and no babysitter, you need to take care of your children as first priority, right? Well, to them, it was no craps given. I got in trouble for rescheduling my appointment because why I need to watch my kids. So guess what? Now I'm on the list of "not making appointments" and now can only come the day of IF THEY ARE AVAILABLE. This place is horrible. Treat your customers like humans and realize people have lives as well. You expect people to be on your time now and punish them because they will always put family first? My crown came off my upper molar. I called multiple dental offices for help. LUCKILY, I found Comfort Dental! They were able to see me the next day, glue my crown back on, take x-rays and exam, and clean my teeth. BUT I only paid the same amount that the other 5 offices wanted just to put my crown back on! The fees they charge are VERY reasonable, and even have a "New Patient Special". That made my visit more than affordable, as I am a Senior Citizen. We have found our new dental office!! I have never been so comfortable at a dental office like I am here. The service is great and the dentists and staff are all amazing. DA Christina, I believe is her name, is very knowledgeable, sweet, and to the point. Emily, I think she works the desk, is also great and she even took her time to make sure I got the most coverage out of my insurance. Dr. Wartman is quick, friendly, and good spirited. My husband and I had our appointments at different times and both had a great overall experience. We would highly recommend this dental office. I have been going here a while. It has been so good I told everyone about it. Today I went and it was horrible. The tech came in and polished around on my teeth knocking them with tools and pulling my lips. Then the hygienist came in and was rough! This was not the hygienist I had had previously. There is no reason to be so rough during a cleaning. I told the lady upon check out and she apologized. I was ok after that until I got home a couple hours later and my teeth are killing me and my gums are swollen. I floss everyday! I should not have pain and swollen gums after a cleaning. My wife was quoted $75.00 for a dental exam and x-rays plus $129.00 for a cleaning. She made the appointment and went today. She informed them she has a disorder called Lichen planus and asked if they were familiar with it to which they repied yes. She arrived for her appointment, was taken into the exam/x-ray room and received 4 x-rays, (1 per quadrant). She did not receive a cleaning. Instead, she received an appointment to get a cleaning the next day. The hygienist recommended a, "Deep Cleaning " because she has "periodontal disease". This "Deep Cleaning will cost her $1756.00. She was charged $236.00 for today's visit which was at the most, 15-20 minutes with a dentist and hygienist total. I accompanied her back to the dental office and questioned the office manager for specifics and explanations. She then explained the x-rays are not included, only the review of the x-rays by the dentist apparently. The entire experience felt sketchy to say the least. Bait and switch came to mind. I recorded experience so I could quote what was said without making any mistakes and I have retained the recording and the quote for the work we will not have done at this business. My advice, if you are elderly, as we are, ensure you record every step of the way and you have a FULL understanding of what goods and services you will receive. My wife called the office and asked for a credit for the $129.00 for the cleaning and was informed she was only charged for the exam and x-rays and there would be no refund. Go to another dentist. Went for my 1st and last time in 3/2019 while I was 7 months pregnant. I had x-rays done at another dentist middle of 2018 and had those xrays emailed to Comfort Dental. I confirmed prior to my appointment that they received the xrays. Day of my appointment, the dentist tried to convince me 3 times to take xrays (1st red flag), that it was safe even though I was pregnant. I had to get firm with him before he would stop trying to convince me to take xrays. I take great care of my teeth and have never had a cavity. Well according to the dentist at Comfort Dental, based on the xrays I had emailed, I had a cavity. When I asked him to show me in the xray, I no longer had a cavity but what appeared to be the early signs of where a cavity would start (2nd red flag). The cleaning was ok, but they asked me if I wanted fluoride at the end, I wasn't sure if my insurance covered it so I asked them to verify. They told me yes, it's covered but when it was time to leave they tried to charge me for fluoride (3rd red flag)! Had to argue that they just told me it was covered then they realized, yes, indeed it was. Here's where the real problem starts. In 12/2019, I went to another dentist because I'd never go back to Comfort Dental. Had xrays taken and a great cleaning done at Salmon Creek Dental. Turns out that Comfort Dental claimed they took xrays when I went in March and my insurance wasn't covering the xrays I had at Salmon Creek Dental. I called Comfort Dental to bring this to their attention and get it resolved, but they told me, they had taken xrays. I went into the office on 1/28/2020 and spoke with Megan, the office manager. I asked her to show me the xrays they claimed they took and the xrays I had emailed to them. She couldn't produce any xrays aside from the ones I had sent. Rather then apologize, I got a run a round of nonsense. Megan then told me they could directly reimburse me or go through my insurance and square it away. I went the insurance route to insure there was a record of this. I also put in a fraudulent complaint with my insurance company. I called today 2/13/2020 to check the status with my insurance company and they said Comfort Dental still hasn't submitted reimbursement. read more

This review is for what happened in 2018 through 2019. Prior to 2019 I went to Comfort Dental for a tooth ache. My upper molar had a vertical crack. Dr Wood put a crown on the tooth thinking problem solved. I had some discomfort afterwards as if the crown was squeezing the crack. I went back numerous times with complaints about the discomfort. Each time Dr Wood blamed it on the bite and would grind the crown down to fix the bite. This happened over and over again. It got to the point that that pain was so great that I had to combine Tylenol and Advil to stop the throbbing. Then the gum around the tooth started getting infected and forming a pimple. He finally told me the root died and the tooth needed pulling. He offered to credit me for the crown and the credit would be applied to a tooth extraction and implant. After going 2 years with pain for the same tooth I left and never went back. I went to an oral surgeon for the tooth extraction. The reason I am writing the review now is because I just got a dental implant through a reputable oral surgeon for that area. Same area so it brought back a lot of bad memories. Going to Dr Wood was the worst dental experience I ever had. Dr Wood might not have caused the root to die but he did let me live with discomfort and pain because of the wrong diagnosis. read more

I was impressed in the beginning but once my implants failed and fell out, it's like Dr. Wood gave up on me. I have a lower denture but still have all upper teeth that need work. Whenever I try and see him, he is on vacation, at other location or booked way out. When I finally got an appointment (been a patient for three years) he didn't have time to do anything! I just wanted a cleaning and adjusted denture. I laid in chair for forty minutes for nothing. I have excellent insurance and have a zero balance. Had to find new dentist. He's a nice guy but I believe he's interested only in young, attractive people. read more

Terrible experience. Dr. Wood put in a dental implant 6 years ago that failed. Come to find out from a dentist who specializes in implants that Dr. Wood put the implant in the wrong placement (on the edge of the bone) at the wrong angle and used a wrong sized implant for my space. The specialist was amazed that the implant lasted over a year. When I had contacted Dr. Woods office to consult me about replacing the implant they made me pay $150 for an X-Ray. I told them I was not happy about that and I just wanted to talk about options for his failed implant, but they insisted that I could not be seen without paying for the X-Ray. Following my pointless appointment with Dr. Wood I had 2 other consultations done by 2 other dentist who did full 3D X-Rays for Free. If you are needing dental implants Do Not let Dr. Wood do them. You most likely will have them fail and have to get a bone graft and end up having to pay another $5,000 to a dentist that is competent in dental implants. read more

My husband has been going to this practice for a couple of years. Had regular cleanings and implants done. Unfortunately, my husband needed urgent dental care this weekend, their website says they are open on Saturday mornings, I called multiple times to alert them of my husbands dilemma and called a left numerous messages on the emergency number.... NOT one returned call! Ended up going to the ER with an abscessed tooth, the doc drained the infection and told us to call his dentist to let them know that he needs a root canal ASAP. I'm so happy I found my new Dentist. I went here to get a price on a implant plus a checkup. They have a special for a x-rays and a exam for 20 dollars. Of course I know this is to get you into there door. Because of this low price I was expecting high pressure sales sales tactics. Too my surprise this was not the case. They spent over an hour with me using newer x-ray equipment and examining me. Told me what should be done and what can be put off. Told me to feel free to price check there prices and call if I would like to schedule. I only had one cavity that needed attention plus I already knew I needed a teeth cleaning. I looked over there prices and there where about 25 percent less than I thought I was going have to pay. Everyone was super nice from the front desk to the x-ray technician. My Dentist was very personal. Someone that I would chit chat with if I see him outside his dentist office. If you looking for someone new to work on your teeth that has great cash prices I would check them out. They also take insurance too. read more

What an odd and awful Experience. As a former dental assistant and front desk receptionist; I know how people should be treated. I am a teacher and need a clinic that is willing to call me back when I leave messages. I was incredibly surprised and a bit shocked that this clinic denied my family and I service for months. They continued to deny us appointments even though our insurance had assigned us months ago. I called today while cleaning my classroom at the end of the day, and unfortunately I have very bad reception and our call dropped. When I called back I was placed in hold and I eventually hung up and called my insurance to ask for help . My insurance agent called them to see about getting my family appointments and get this: the receptionist said they are blocking us as patients because I "hung" up. On them. They don't need state insurance patients??? Seriously? Wow. I work for the state - I am not on welfare. Even if I was: who does that??? I have been to Comfort Dental on Chkalov two or three times previously and felt very well taken care of. I made an appointment about a month ago for my regular cleaning and x-rays which are taken care of by my insurance. I get seated in the hygenists chair and she comes in and says we have to decide on what type of cleaning I need. I did say I wanted the regular cleaning as I had no problems going on with my teeth or gums. She measured the pockets in my gums and said she would clean my teeth, apply flouride and also apply a antibiotic to my gums. She said she would check to see if it was covered by insurance and said it was. I assumed it be around 40-60.00 for an antibiotic. It ended up over a 1,000.00+for the antibiotic and I ended up paying 219.00 out of pocket. I usually pay 0 for my xrays and cleaning. I am not happy and will not use them again. If you use them go over their estimate very carefully and if you have taken off your glasses for them to work on you put them back on to read the estimate!! read more

Dr. Wood has always been a very kind, comforting, and professional dentist. I feel at ease sitting in the chair regardless of the reason I am being seen. I do not have health insurance and found that they had several options available to help with the cost. They do what they can to help you take care of your dental needs. I love that they have a discount if you pay cash. The office is very clean and well decorated. I love all of the paintings they have up. This was my third visit since moving back to the Pacific Northwest. I have been extremely happy with this dental office until today. The dental assistant and dentist were very professional and kind. However when I went to pay my bill with a lady named Danielle things changed. I had called in the day before regarding what my cost would be for my appointment today ( I pay out of pocket) and was told that I would just be getting a cleaning and it would be $110. I had explained I had an exam and x-rays seven months ago so I only needed the cleaning. Danielle assured me of my cost and services I would be receiving. However when I went to pay she said it was $180. I reminded her of our conversation the day before and she said it didn't matter and that was the cost. I asked her to speak with the dentist about it, she said she did but she was only away from the desk for approximately 10 seconds. She said the charges were not going to change and I owed $180. I asked to speak to the dentist myself and this made Danielle very upset. She really copped an attitude at that point. I explained to my dentist about my conversation the day before and what services I was expecting to get today. She said there was no problem and I could pay the $110 I was quoted the day before. This made Danielle even more upset. She tossed my debit card at me and it fell on the desk. She just walked away and said I'll have someone else call you to schedule your next appointment. I told her in a quiet voice that I thought she was very rude. She told me no one has ever told her she was rude. Maybe she was just having a bad day but I can't imagine going back there if I have to deal with her. read more

I give these people 10 stars. First of all, they accepted me as a new patient this month (March 2020) during the COVID-19 pandemic, while I was traveling from out of state. Miranda took my call and was very kind and professional. The office is clean, warm, and welcoming. After my X-rays, and discovering that I would need 1 wisdom tooth and 1 molar extracted, I was absolutely terrified. Here I was out of town, alone, in tremendous pain, and had no idea what to do or what to expect. Dr. Wood and his assistant went above and beyond to put me at ease. They explained all of my options and they did not push things that I didn't need...they just took care of my issue. Not only did the staff offer some of the best customer service I have ever experienced, the dental work was amazing. I only felt the shots (a tiny bit) and then NOTHING else. This dentist knows his craft well, and he had both molars out in less than 10 minutes. Zero swelling, and I've had no problems with infection. I've already decided that I will travel to WA just to visit this dental office again in the future. read more

Dr. Eric wood by far is the best Dentist I've had yet. For implants, latest was gum grafts, I just had, sounded scary as first the thought of cutting my tissue from upper mouth palette to use for graft. Thinking of the pain of eating, and thinking of the bleeding involved, he put my fears to rest. I trust him with my care to go ahead. It wasn't at all like I Imagined. Fast, easy, no problems, it helped along the way, that he and his assistant Alley kept reassuring me, by giving me clues of the process And how great I was doing, almost done here. Very little bleeding, stitches on upper palette fell out 4 days later. Healed sooner then the graft. Was eating softer, but normal food, next day. If you need a gum graft, trust this Doctor, he can do it, good. read more

horrible patient care. They damaged my nerves on the right side of my face permanently. I'm an esthetician and I can't bend down without feeling pressure and pain in the right side of my face. I had a panoramic scan and confirmed nerve damage. diagnosed with Trigeminal neralgia. Dr. Brady Smith yelled at me while I was in the most pain I've ever felt, worse than child birth. He insisted that he had met me before and treated me like I was some drug addict trying to get pain medication. I drove 45 min from my home to see him and he chose not to take my pain seriously. I have to take Gabapentin now just to feel normal...ish. I can't even believe he is still practicing, he's going to get What coming to him. A big fat lawsuit. read more

This place is cheap for a reason. The care you get is sub-par, especially compared to family practices. There was a catastrophic office mixup that could have lead to me having permanent damage to my face and nerves and when I went in to talk it over with Dr. Smith he quickly passed the blame to someone who had no real responsibility and as an apology offered me a mug and a gift card and refused to pay for my oral surgery to fix the problem that his office caused. One of the greatest dentist and orthodontics I have ever been too. Everyone is so friendly and nice. The minute you walk in you can feel that friendly environment. I just got my wisdom tooth pull out and I honestly didn't feel a thing while Dr.Wood was doing the surgery. He was very gentle and made sure I was in no pain and that I was comfortable throughout the whole procedure. I also got my braces here and it has been the best braces experience ever. This is my second time with braces and I chose to go with a different orthodontist and every time I go they ask me how I'm doing with them and if everything is okay. Very unhappy. Seemed to rush the entire process. Asked for them to send over X-rays to another location and got no reply back. I called, was told they would email me and never got an email. So I emailed then and again got no response. Very unhappy as I may need to pay for another set of Xrays to be done. If you are busy and cannot send an email a quick 30 second phone call notifying me of the delay would have been appreciated. I will not recomned anyone to this place. Breaking a leg, childbirth, roadrash. These are all things that were less painful than the tooth that had gone from bad to worse in a matter of days. I had no dental insurance and little money to get it out. I had stayed awake for two whole nights in excruciating pain, been to a local "community" dentist (who did nothing to help) and urgent care. No help. I called Comfort Dental early on Saturday morning to see if they could fit me in for an extraction, and they did. Their office manager, dental hygienist and Dr. Woods were incredibly helpful and kind. They were very concerned with my comfort level...a far cry from the sadistic dentists I've had in the past. While pulling a tooth is never pleasent, they made it to where I wasn't traumatized and left me feeling relieved to be free from the pain that had been tormenting me for days. I'm a first time patient. I had a mixup with my appointment calendar. I thought my appointment was at 10:30am but it was actually at 10am. Totally my bad. The receptionist was a bit abrasive at first, I get it due to my tardiness. Thankfully the dental assistant & doctor was much more understanding and friendlier consdering my lateness and they were still able to do a full exam, x-rays, & even a cleaning even though I was late!
