My night guard appliance had chipped off a bit in the…read morefront and I was worried I might need a new one, which can be very expensive because it's not a simple generic night guard. My Seattle dentist (Dr. Cris Simmons) is one of the top TMJ specialists in the world. His wife/secretary (Anna) referred me to Dr. Sanchez. I called for an appointment and was offered a free half-hour consultation. I phoned back Anna and she said that's a very good sign. She said that if they wanted me to make an appointment for x-rays, run the other direction. Lol During the consultation, it was clear that Dr. Sanchez had years of advanced specialized training with TMJ. He inspected my appliance and said he can definitely make one that's comparable. But even though it's slightly chipped in the front, it won't affect the functionality or comfort so it's not worth wasting my money on a new one. His advice was to continue using it until there's more serious wear. I felt relieved to find a dentist in my new city who's honest AND a highly experienced expert with TMJ.

The office staff claimed they would call her back but did not do so, so I encouraged her to call again since they were likely busy. The front desk answered and placed her on hold, but they forgot to actually push the button so my daughter had to sit there and listen to the other staff and the front desk staff talk about her. They laughed that this was the third time she had called and made fun of her being from out of state. They agreed with each other to just tell her that the dentist had left and they said their goodbyes. When the front desk person returned to the phone and said the dentist had left, my daughter brought up the fact that she was not placed on hold and just heard their entire conversation. The staff member became very quiet, failed to apologize, simply mumbled something, and hung up. This is the worst unprofessional customer service I have been a part of experiencing. They showed no care or sympathy and were inappropriately disrespectful.

I have a bit of anxiety about dental visits, so when I finally got up the courage to make an appointment I searched Yelp! for the best in ABQ. Sandia Heights Dental Care showed up and so I trusted my fellow Yelpers and made an appointment. So glad to say everyone was right and this is a great facility! The first thing you should know is this dental office seems pretty busy and they are about a month out on scheduling appointments, so if you are considering going in call them now! The office was clean and professional and all of the staff were friendly and efficient. You can tell by the way they interact with each other that everyone works well together and they are a tight team. I told my technician I have a bit of anxiety and she was understanding and compassionate. She quickly took the edge off with a gentle touch and calming chit chat. She listened to my concerns and explained each step in great detail. The appointment went great and I booked not only my next cleaning for later this year, but also an appointment to discuss Invisalign, because this clinic does it all! I even grabbed a handful of business cards for my dental phobic friends. I highly recommend going here whether you are just looking for a new dentist or have some anxiety like myself.
