He was over one hour late for my appointment, taking another patient first, even though I was scheduled for the first appointment. There was no apology from him. He insisted I go off the pain med I was on and was forced to endure excruciating pain for several days before the new med took effect, with nothing to bridge the gap in meds. His office assistant is beyond unhelpful and couldn't have cared less that I was in terrible pain. This office treated me as if I was a drug addict, dismissed my concerns and was unresponsive to my needs, even though evidence of my upcoming surgery was available. I would never, ever be willing to see this Practioner again! He and his assistant were a menace to my comfort and well being as a patient.

I went to this joke thinking he was part of Sutter health which is a lie! No way would Sutter touch…read morehim and when his name is brought up. Well, it was pretty. The worst part is the complete lack of organization, forethought or care for the patient. Making his patients jump thru hoops every month to see if he did his job. Often forgetting to call in medication, cutting amounts short or putting extended dates on scripts past due date. Just zero empathy. Dr. Cheng and his receptionist mary need to close shop. He is afraid of being 'scrutinized' so he will put patients on high level pain medication, make a person an addict then blame the patient for the problem. Never getting past records, checking with other doctors, never giving drug test, never doing anything but writing a script. A pill doctor is a better word for him. But to loose thousands of dollars in medical claims due to the laziness on the behalf of the front office is worthy of a lawsuit. If you choose this doctor after reading this you only have yourself to blame

It was…read moreonly getting worse over time, despite my attempts at healing with massage, chiropractic visits and regular yoga practice. By chance, I stumbled across mentions of Alexander Technique and became curious, eventually finding a teacher in my area (Susan!) to help. After just four sessions with Susan, my pain is gone. I feel slight echos of it sometimes, and they serve as reminders to keep my newly found walking and sitting habits. Susan was able to immediately spot the problems in my walking pattern. We also discussed and adjusted the way I sit at the desk, drive, get up and down, position my head in conversation, etc... The unnecessary muscular tension caused me so much pain. In addition to being very effective as a teacher, Susan is a pleasure to interact with as a person: warm, kind, attentive and inspiring. Her Berkeley studio is also a very charming space!

I went to Susan for help with a dance injury, which had become chronic due to…read more a) weight bearing, b) favoring the non-injured extremity to protect against pain and re-injury, and c) chronic muscular compensation, which happened when healing was delayed and my body began to develop poor habits to protect itself. My condition peaked when I was unable to drive with my right foot flexed at the accelerator pedal, and I couldn't even drive to physical therapy treatment without a "left-foot gas pedal" due to acute pain. In a matter of weeks Susan taught me how to recognize when my stance, walking and sitting were geared to trigger pain and how to begin to forestall its inevitable re-injurous compensation mechanisms. Eventually, in conjunction with my Alexander Lessons, I came to discover isometric exercises, which were less vigorous than those that physical therapy had made even worse, but that were still intense enough strengthen my extremities. With Susan's assistance I was able to do these exercises (Qigong "Three Circles" stances) with the necessary balance, alignment and the attenuation of pain under stress for strengthening . I have continued these exercises with Alexander informed body usage for two years now, with little or no pain, provided I do them for 15 minutes every day. A surprising bonus is that I unlearned many habits of movement that were handicapping the art of my dance, which is both Ballroom and Argentine Tango. I know I am on the right track, as every day movements continue becoming more energized and my dance releases more power, beauty and control. (I am 68-years old.)

I did my own research and was encouraged by the positive reviews. I saw Dr. Wang in June. After reading current reviews I'm even more upset about my visit. Everything one reviewer said Dr. Wang did - listen, connect other medical conditions, let them talk, LISTEN - it was the opposite experience for me. Which, makes me feel like it was me, or my husband. Which I never say, but my experience was so opposite of the positive reviews. When my husband tried to ask a question, he flat put ignored him. I like a second pair of ears in the room, particularly when I'm meeting a nee specialist, just to make sure everything was covered. He rapid fired questions off to me and when my answers didn't fit in his box - again, not listening - he got visibly annoyed and I started to shutdown. Giving in to whatever answer HE was looking for, rather than HEARING my migraine history. He said there was no reason to review my records from my previous doctor. He somehow seemed to have all the answers without really having a clear picture of MY case. He talked to me about migraine like I hadn't been dealing with this condition, longer than he's been alive. There was a measure of arrogance and know-it-all syndrome. I had EXCELLENT care before Dr Wang. I have NEVER left any medical appointment in tears, regardless if I felt like it went well or not. When you're dealing with a chronic condition that causes days, weeks, of pain and disruption to your life, you need someone who is going to team up with you. Not make you feel less than. I may not be the doctor specialist, but I am a self-advocate and do my due-diligence to educate myself on my condition, so I can work WITH the specialist. Needless to say, I cancelled my follow up appointment and now have to look miles outside of where I live, to find proper care.
