We used…read moreHarvest 5 - 7 hours a day, 5 - 7 days a week, from February until October when my mother passed away. Vanria and Tracey run the place, both are extremely nice and very professional. If our care giver was running 15 minutes late, I would always hear from Vanria. If you called for Vanria or Tracey, they always picked up the phone regardless of the day or time I called. We had a primary caregiver 4 - 6 days a week and then a 2nd caregiver 1 - 3 days a week. Primary changed along the way, Zoe, Brittany, and in the end Krystal. Change over 8 months is inevitable and as much as I regretted losing someone we were used to; the next caregiver was as good or better than her predecessor. Joyce was our 2nd caregiver for the additional 1 - 3 days a week over the 8 months. In the end we had Krystal and Joyce taking care of my mother as she transitioned into hospice and end of life. I remember the 1st time Joyce walked into our home with the nicest smile. I knew I liked her before she said a word. Krystal is not only compassionate and caring; she is also very intelligent and adaptable. I think a good caregiver finds her own way to be useful and make things easier for the care recipient and family. We never told Krystal what to do, she knew what to do and did it on her own. When my mother and I had an appointment with mom's oncologist, I liked having Krystal with us and welcomed her input at the appointment. Krystal always remembered pertinent things, that I forgot to mention, and she brought them up to the Dr. Krystal & Joyce were front line and knew better than I what my mom's condition was. Hospice gets tough and the old saying goes when the going gets tough the tough get going. Krystal and Joyce are two tough ladies! Joyce and Krystal both stepped it up as the workload required. More than just being there to help, both are extremely compassionate and caring. I don't recall ever having to ask Joyce or Krystal to do something. Rather they did what was needed without being asked (they knew better than me, what was needed), and often volunteered or asked if they could do more. I guess to sum it up; I can't imagine Krystal or Joyce treating their own mothers any better than they treated my mother. I don't usually write reviews and never to this length; Harvest went above & beyond and deserves the praise.

My Mom has lived at Lombard Place since Jan 2016. We have witnessed first hand the transition that…read moremy mom has gone through. She started out in Assisted living. What great care she received. The facility plans weekly outings for the residents to enjoy a lunch out to shopping to plays. Unfortunately my mom has had to move to memory care recently. I was very concerned about the transition of moving from assisted living to memory care. I have to tell you that my concerns were gone within the first day or so of moving mom to the memory care unit. The Caregivers in this unit are extremely patient and supportive of each resident. they have a tough job. If anyone ever tells me how tough their job is, I would beg them to switch with these wonderful people. They have a tough and demanding job, but each one of them does it with a smile and positive attitude like you would not believe. The caregivers are there for the residents but they are also there for the families as well. As my mom moved upstairs to the memory care unit, many of the staff took the time to visit her after hours. This means a lot to my mom and certainly to me as well that they care that much for their residents that they take time away form their own families to spend time with their second families. I have spent many days at Lombard Place and as you can imagine have eaten there on multiple occasions. I find the food to be very good. The one thing that I believe separates Lombard Place from any other facility is the staff. I do not care what your "job" is at Lombard Place, they all take care of the residents like they are their own families. Each person goes out of their way to provide exceptional care to the residents that live there. Another thing that separates this facility from others is that they have instituted a family support group that meets once a month. This support group has helped me understand what my mom was going through and how I can help her and how I can help myself. this support group meets in the evenings and again shows how the staff puts forth an exceptional effort to support their residents as well as the families as the leader of the group has worked a full day and stays after to help the families and residents understand Dementia and Alzheimer's diease. I know this is a long review, but I believe that Lombard Place is the right place for my mom and feel that there is no other place I would rather have my mom at. If you find yourself in the need to move your loved one into an assisted living facility I urge you to consider this wonderful facility as you will not be disappointed.

My mother was "treated" at La Clinica after she got injured at work, if you can even call it…read moretreatment. The care she received from Hamada Yehya was unacceptable. My take? Go to someone who is a medical doctor (MD), not a chiropractor. My mother got into a car accident while working and had constant pain in her shoulder. Hamada kept pushing her to do physical therapy before even ordering an MRI to diagnose the issue. She brought this up multiple times with him, but he never ordered her an MRI. This delayed her care for weeks. Getting an MRI was the next step in the process, so I don't understand why Hamada didn't order it sooner. This is the bare minimum and he couldn't even do that. I do not feel like her concerns as a patient were listened to or seriously considered. When she told me how La Clinica and Hamada were handling her care, I immediately scheduled her with another physician, who then ordered her an MRI. Turns out her rotator cuff was TORN and she needs major surgery. Had I never gotten involved, Hamada would have had her doing God knows what with her already torn rotator cuff. I am really baffled by how this situation was handled and the incompetence at La Clinica. I worry that patients who don't know the workers' comp process may not realize they can seek another opinion or advocate for themselves. Don't waste one of your workers' comp doctor choices on this establishment. In Illinois, you generally only get two choices, so choose wisely. FYI, their front desk tried to get my mother set up with their partnership injury lawyers. I took a look at the paperwork for her, and based on what I saw, they take 40%-45% of the personal injury claim. From what I understand, personal injury lawyers commonly take around 33%, so that felt very high to me. Always get multiple opinions on your medical care and legal representation. Don't just accept whatever La Clinica pushes you toward. Actually, just skip this place altogether and make sure your doctor is a physician who knows what they are doing.
